Linksys Wireless Router :: WRT320N - IPad Can't Connect To It
Jul 24, 2011
I have a WRT320N router with firmware version 1.0.01 build 008. I just got an iPad and while it can find my router, I can't access the WiFi when I enter my password. I can use the router with my laptop so I know the connection and password are ok.I've seen two administrators on here suggest the same thing. And one person responded that it worked. The identical directions were:
Try changing some advanced wireless settings on the router.Connect the computer to the router with the Ethernet cable. Open the setup page of the router.Click on wireless tab and set the configuration view to manual. Change the wireless channel to 11. Save the settings.Go to wireless tab and click on Advanced wireless settings.Change Beacon interval to 75, RTS threshold to 2307 and fragmentation threshold to 2306. Save the settings.Try to connect to the wireless network again and see if that works.
1 - I think my computer already is connected to the router with the Ethernet cable - I mean there is an Ethernet cable attached to both my computer and my router - in slot 1 on the router
2 - the only thing I know how to access is the Linksys EasyLink Advisor. What and where is the setup page of the router?
Just installed linksys wrt320n. Desktop and one laptop (wireless) connect. Both windows 7. A second laptop (Vista) errors out with message "the selected data rate is not correct". This laptop sees the router (since I see the router name and it validates the passphrase) but I cannot ping the router. I saw two messages on this site suggesting to enable WMM and use security WPA2. I have verified that both of these are so set.
I have some major problem with my WRT320 router. For some reasonit won't let me connect to Age of Empires 2 (other, newer games work fine) via Hamachi. When i want to connect i can see the game but when i want to join it tries to connect but fails telling me i'm unable to join... I know the problem is in the router because when I connect my modem directly to my computer Age of Empires connects fine!
I just installed a WRT320N for someone's home network, with the intent of providing better speed for network printing.
Unfortunately, all four of his n-capable Windows computers will only connect at 54mbps. Four different computers (Win7, Vista, XP), each with a different brand/model of n-capable network adapter.
I suppose I could try setting the wireless to n-only instead of "mixed". However, he's got a couple g-only devices as well, so that wouldn't work.
I tried updating the firmware to latest/greatest - no effect.
Kindle fire won't connect to my router WRT320N- I have the correct password- signal strength is excellent- I have set up other devices without problems- prompt reads "connection error unable to connect to access point. Please check the password you have provided."
We have just installed the E1200 wireless router. We are able to access the internet from our home computers, however we cannot get the IPAD connected. When we try to find our wireless network to connect to it doesn't display yet our we can still see our neighbors wireless networks.
What should i do ? Reset ? How ? maybee i did not set the cable properly ( what is an ethernet cable ? ) the one i have is a short cable with what looks like telephone jacks at either ends. one end is plugged in my comcast modem and the other into my mini mac.
I recently connected E1500 to time wanrner cable modem for my home. 3 laptops work fine, but iphone and ipad can not connect to wireless. But iphone and ipad connected to linksys guest automatically.
I don't want to allow any Guest access to my network, but I do want to connect my iPad to my network. I've successfully added another computer to the network but the router setup seems to want the iPad to connect only as a Guest .Is there a way to treat my iPad as another computer (not as Guest) so that it my network recognizes it in the same way it recognizes the second computer (without entering a password)?
I have an E4200 wireless router which is connected via USB to my Canon MX 308 printer. I am able to print from Windows computers that are connected to this router (via WiFi of course). My iPad 2.0 is able to connect to the internet via the router. However I am not able to print content from my iPad via the E4200 router (via Wifi using Cisco Connect software).
My iPad cannot connect to my network wireless through WPA2 using router E4200 the way my Macbook is connected. Only using guest access i can get internet contact. Is this a known problem with this combination and/or is it meant to be, that only guest access gives an iPad connection?
I am trying to set up WRT on my WRT320N access point so I can connect it to my other access point that also doubles as my DSL router.Where can I find the WDS on the WRT320N?
I have a WRT320N, firmware version 1.0.05., Windows 7 Home Premium SP1, and a Hewlett Packard laptop.I would like to utilize both bands on my router at the same time for internet access, so that I can have the one my kids use shut down at a certain time but mine stay up.If not, what's the closest I can get, even if I have to purchase additional items to do so? Do I have to manually turn their band off when I want it off? And can I even have both bands in use at the same time?
I looked at my Cisco online info by access the IP address. I see the Access Restrictions tab. Can I even set usage by specific computer? If so how do I do that?
I've purchased this router a few weeks ago, but I can't use it as I can't get on the internet with it plus my laptop which as wifi will not recognize it.
I would really like get it going, I've tried live chat but I guess the techy didn't have the patience, I am a slow typer for lack of a better word.
I'm currently using my WRT320N router as an access point (connected to another linksys router), but I've lost my username and password to access the web-based utility. So I need to press the reset button and set it up again. Currently everything is working fine, but I've forgotten how to configure the router for this purpose, and I can't find instructions in the user's guide online. I seem to remember it being troublesome. I know I have to assign a different IP address (currently I'm using 192.168.1.113.) What other settings (if any) need to be changed?
Internet through DSL-Thompson TG 789 VN router ---> several yards --> Linksys WRT320N --> wired computer netwerk | |with printer | | ---> Wireless Netwerk --> laptops / phones <--- (WAN depending on strongest signal) | ---> several servers
The Thompson does the DHCP and routing. It is the gateway through the internet, IP 192.168.2.254 (mask 255.255.255.0).I can't replace the thompson since it is delivered by my provider. SSID = BertB I want to achieve that all the compuers / laptops / phone and printer are in one network and can communicate with each other So the only possibility, as far as I can see, is to set up the Linksys as a bridge.
I have to do the following at the Linksys but have some questions as mentioned below:
SSID = BertB (the same) channel = different from the channel used by Thompson DHCP = off IP = fixed (192.168.2.253) gateway = 192.168.2.254
[code]....
how the thompson and the Linksys will build a connection with each other, or will this happen automatically through the above setup?Do I have to put the mac address of the thompson in the Linksys and/or vice versa?
I just bought a Linksys 320N router to replace another competitors router. I am trying to connect to my VPN server from outside my network. I have the external ip to my network. I setup the new 320N router just like the old router. set dmz ip to internal ip of vpn server, set port forwarding to 1723, both, internal ip of vpn server, I have a way to test the vpn while i am inside my network. So, I can watch the VPN server log and see the request come into the server and it times out with the Linksys 320 N hooked up. If I have the old router hooked up, the vpn establishes a connection.
I am running a WRT320N with Firmware 1.0.04Trying to Upgrade the Firmware to 1.0.05 it always fails at about 24% progress with a message saying an invalid value has been entered.I downloaded the firmware from your homepage twice so that the file is not corrupted
We have WRT320N (Model No.) and when I moved i notice that my wirelss network does not have internet connection. Even after I hook everything up it doesn't work, my computer does not recognize the network but the laptop does. I have prior knowledge about computers and the internet but I don't know why I am having a problem. Is it because I moved and the data in my previous home does not match the data here?
I'm using my WRT320N as a home router, I need more ipadresses to be delivered to my computers, yet I can't get my router to give med wider netmask range. In the list I get 255.255.255.0 - 255.255.255.240 or something like that. I need 255.0.0.0 on my network and that would be perfect if i could get that...
I've got the below setup, have the wrt320 setup as a switch / wifi ap, i'm totally unable to access its management page from pc1 but am able to via pc 3, why is this, how can i get around this? Routing? Also am unable to access pc3's resources from pc1..When i enter the ip of the wrt320 it thinks about it and before it has come up with the user/password screen but it soon dissapears and firefox comes up with a "Unable to connect Firefox can't establish a connection to the server at 192.168.0.2." message.
I have a WRT320N router. It is hooked to a Comcast cable modem (Motorola SB5101). After using it for a few days, my Internet connection becomes very slow and I have to reset the router. Generally I get download speeds of 10+ Mbps, but then it slows to about 1 Mbps or less. One time I was only getting 300 Kbps.I'm using a wired connection when this happens, so wireless is not the issue. Also, there is no firmware update available for my router; 1.0.01 was already on it. The only settings that I've changed besides the password are related to the wireless. As soon as I unplug the router and plug it back in, it's fine again for a few days. At first I thought it might be my cable Internet connection, but because I'm not having to reset the cable modem?
i have a wrt320n router and it used to work before but my internet provider said that its a router issue might need to change the wep setting or channel or connect ps3 up through the routers list of accessible .. So basically its not registering the IP address given and the wep key isn't wrong but its not approving it . Not sure what to do. I tried unplugging the router and I also did the same for the modem no luck. Signals 100% and my lap top and wii connect fine.
Today has bought a router. Before it at me was D-link Dir 320. IPTV on DIR 320 worked perfectly. On WRT320N does not work. Firmware has updated to Ver.1.0.04 build 1. Prompt that it is necessary to make?
I have a problem when trying to configure my wrt320n , I put in the exact same config. as I had with my wrt54g, and I do mean the exact same, even the name and all, but when I try to save the config on Advance Routing I get the message "Invalid static route", I think it's a bug
I have a wrt320n. works good with all my computers. I bought a Visio tablet and I can only hook up to an open network. I want to be able to use my router with security. Such as wpa/wpa2 or wep. I tried all connections. Only the open network is the only one that I can connect to.This my first tablet and I never hooked one up before.
I have a Linksys WRT320N Wireless Router and I am having an issue where it seems like gigabit (10/100/1000) ready computers are getting fast ethernet (10/100) speeds and fast ethernet computers/devices are receiving gigabit speeds. What I mean is the computers that are gigabit ready and are using cat6 cables are showing green icons on the Linksys WRT320N router and my network switch, which is only 10/100 ready and uses a cat5e cable to connect to the router, shows a blue icon indicating it is connected at gigabit speeds. Is the manual incorrect and green icons really mean gigabit speeds?
I have what should be simple. Home network on cable. WRT320N is main router cabled to desktop with GB card. It is hard-wired to a Netgear WNR3500L (also gigabit). That router is hard-wired to a desktop with GB card. For testing I connected a second machine hard-wired to the WRT320N with a 10/100 card. All machines recognized cards properly at correct speed. I ran LAN Speed Test between machines. Speeds were comparable between machines regardless of cards. GB -> GB was mid-30's write, mid-80's read with GB -> 10/100 a couple of ticks slower but not significantly. The LED's on both routers will show different color if GB connection and both showed GB for the desktop connection but not the interconnect between the routers. The routers are connected at about 100' with CAT5E and straight-through.
