View 9 RepliesI no longer have a software disc, but setup via the 192.168.1.1 page has worked out fine...until the last reset. After the last reset/reboot of the wifi, I was unable to set up the wifi beyond use with my laptop. This is, no doubt, user error.WRT320N.No hard wire, wifi is connected to the cable modem. Everything in the house was on the wireless.
Issue: Laptop finds and connects to wifi just fine, password works just fine.iPhone cannot even detect the wifi in the house (but finds every other wifi in the neighborhood)iPad cannot detect the wifi in the house (but finds every other wifi in the neighborhood)Desktop cannot detect the wifi in the house (but finds every other wifi in the neighborhood)What do I need to tweek in the admin page 192.168.1.1 to allow other computers to jack into my wifi?
I have had my router for at approx. a year and a half and it has worked flawlessly. Now my PC which is plugged into the router still works fine, I'm just not able to connect wirelessly anymore. I've tried the basic things like unplugging and rebooting, nothing changes. The lights still say it is transmitting.
View 1 Replies View RelatedHow do I set up my iPad2 to use my home WiFi using WRT320N Cicsco router?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have experienced some strange behavior of WiFi connection using WRT320N router. ISP provides me the internet in 2 modes (day and night). During day mode max speed is 24 Mb/s and during night 60 MB/s. Modem ADSL (Cisco EPC3010) is connected to Linksys WRT320N and on router is configured WiFi.Now issue. In the day mode everything is perfect. Cable connection gives me 24 MB/s and WiFi connection around 22 MB/s so not so bad. However when my internet speeds up to 60 Mb/s (cable connection via router gives exactly 60), WiFi connection instead speed up as well, just drop to max 17 Mb/s. I have tied several different settings on the router including changes in WiFi band, channel width, different channels (now channel is setup to 1 which is maybe not totally free but no so occupied) and others but unfortunately without significant improvement (in many cases connection just slowed down more).
And some details:
Wireless configuration (now)
Band: 2.4GHz
Mode: Wireless-N only
Channel Width: Auto (20MHz or 40 MHz)
Channel: 1
Wireless adaptor: Intel Centrino Advanced-N 6230 (I know that this doesn’t mean anything but Win7 shows that connection is established with speed 144MB/s)Router firmware and WiFi card updated to the newest version.
I live in a new apartment building which means a lot of concrete. The internet (fiber) enters the house at the beginning where the modem is hooked up to my Linksys WRT320N. From there two cables run through the house:1 to the home office, where two computers are connected through a switch.1 to the living room, where the Xbox, blue-ray player are connected through a switch.I also have a wifi network running from my WRT320N, but as it is at the beginning of the house, there are some black spots in other parts of the house. I tried to fix this with a Netgear repeater, but that keeps disconnecting.
What I want to do know is place a second linksys device in the living room at the end of the already existing cable that will also broadcast a wifi network, but I want this to be exactly the same Wi-Fi network as I already have. What I want to achieve is that I can walk from one end of the house with my iPad, streaming a video, to the other end of the house and that I always stay connected to the internet and that my tabled just picks up the strongest broadcaster, basically the same as with a mobile phone.
I try to connect my LinkSys wrt320n with Apple Time Capsule with mode "sahring existing wireless network" and so Time capsule doesn't work. It gets IP, but writes "isn't internet connection, WiFi network don't find" and also in the admipage of my wrt320 I can't see Time Capsule as client.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a WRT320N, firmware version 1.0.05., Windows 7 Home Premium SP1, and a Hewlett Packard laptop.I would like to utilize both bands on my router at the same time for internet access, so that I can have the one my kids use shut down at a certain time but mine stay up.If not, what's the closest I can get, even if I have to purchase additional items to do so? Do I have to manually turn their band off when I want it off? And can I even have both bands in use at the same time?
I looked at my Cisco online info by access the IP address. I see the Access Restrictions tab. Can I even set usage by specific computer? If so how do I do that?
After playing around I cannot get the router to get into the wide 40 MHz mode any more (2.4 GHz)
View 5 Replies View RelatedI've purchased this router a few weeks ago, but I can't use it as I can't get on the internet with it plus my laptop which as wifi will not recognize it.
I would really like get it going, I've tried live chat but I guess the techy didn't have the patience, I am a slow typer for lack of a better word.
Just installed linksys wrt320n. Desktop and one laptop (wireless) connect. Both windows 7. A second laptop (Vista) errors out with message "the selected data rate is not correct". This laptop sees the router (since I see the router name and it validates the passphrase) but I cannot ping the router. I saw two messages on this site suggesting to enable WMM and use security WPA2. I have verified that both of these are so set.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI'm currently using my WRT320N router as an access point (connected to another linksys router), but I've lost my username and password to access the web-based utility. So I need to press the reset button and set it up again. Currently everything is working fine, but I've forgotten how to configure the router for this purpose, and I can't find instructions in the user's guide online. I seem to remember it being troublesome. I know I have to assign a different IP address (currently I'm using 192.168.1.113.) What other settings (if any) need to be changed?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI want to setup the following:
Internet through DSL-Thompson TG 789 VN router ---> several yards --> Linksys WRT320N --> wired computer netwerk | |with printer
| |
---> Wireless Netwerk --> laptops / phones <--- (WAN depending on strongest signal)
|
---> several servers
The Thompson does the DHCP and routing. It is the gateway through the internet, IP 192.168.2.254 (mask 255.255.255.0).I can't replace the thompson since it is delivered by my provider. SSID = BertB I want to achieve that all the compuers / laptops / phone and printer are in one network and can communicate with each other So the only possibility, as far as I can see, is to set up the Linksys as a bridge.
I have to do the following at the Linksys but have some questions as mentioned below:
SSID = BertB (the same)
channel = different from the channel used by Thompson
DHCP = off
IP = fixed (192.168.2.253)
gateway = 192.168.2.254
[code]....
how the thompson and the Linksys will build a connection with each other, or will this happen automatically through the above setup?Do I have to put the mac address of the thompson in the Linksys and/or vice versa?
I just bought a Linksys 320N router to replace another competitors router. I am trying to connect to my VPN server from outside my network. I have the external ip to my network. I setup the new 320N router just like the old router. set dmz ip to internal ip of vpn server, set port forwarding to 1723, both, internal ip of vpn server, I have a way to test the vpn while i am inside my network. So, I can watch the VPN server log and see the request come into the server and it times out with the Linksys 320 N hooked up. If I have the old router hooked up, the vpn establishes a connection.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have a WRT320N router with firmware version 1.0.01 build 008. I just got an iPad and while it can find my router, I can't access the WiFi when I enter my password. I can use the router with my laptop so I know the connection and password are ok.I've seen two administrators on here suggest the same thing. And one person responded that it worked. The identical directions were:
Try changing some advanced wireless settings on the router.Connect the computer to the router with the Ethernet cable. Open the setup page of the router.Click on wireless tab and set the configuration view to manual. Change the wireless channel to 11. Save the settings.Go to wireless tab and click on Advanced wireless settings.Change Beacon interval to 75, RTS threshold to 2307 and fragmentation threshold to 2306. Save the settings.Try to connect to the wireless network again and see if that works.
1 - I think my computer already is connected to the router with the Ethernet cable - I mean there is an Ethernet cable attached to both my computer and my router - in slot 1 on the router
2 - the only thing I know how to access is the Linksys EasyLink Advisor. What and where is the setup page of the router?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a WRT320N router. It is hooked to a Comcast cable modem (Motorola SB5101). After using it for a few days, my Internet connection becomes very slow and I have to reset the router. Generally I get download speeds of 10+ Mbps, but then it slows to about 1 Mbps or less. One time I was only getting 300 Kbps.I'm using a wired connection when this happens, so wireless is not the issue. Also, there is no firmware update available for my router; 1.0.01 was already on it. The only settings that I've changed besides the password are related to the wireless.As soon as I unplug the router and plug it back in, it's fine again for a few days. At first I thought it might be my cable Internet connection, but because I'm not having to reset the cable modem?

View 9 Replies View RelatedI have a wrt320n. works good with all my computers. I bought a Visio tablet and I can only hook up to an open network.
I want to be able to use my router with security. Such as wpa/wpa2 or wep. I tried all connections. Only the open network is the only one that I can connect to.This my first tablet and I never hooked one up before.
I just installed a WRT320N for someone's home network, with the intent of providing better speed for network printing.
Unfortunately, all four of his n-capable Windows computers will only connect at 54mbps. Four different computers (Win7, Vista, XP), each with a different brand/model of n-capable network adapter.
I suppose I could try setting the wireless to n-only instead of "mixed". However, he's got a couple g-only devices as well, so that wouldn't work.
I tried updating the firmware to latest/greatest - no effect.
Kindle fire won't connect to my router WRT320N- I have the correct password- signal strength is excellent- I have set up other devices without problems- prompt reads "connection error unable to connect to access point. Please check the password you have provided."
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a Linksys WRT320N Wireless Router and I am having an issue where it seems like gigabit (10/100/1000) ready computers are getting fast ethernet (10/100) speeds and fast ethernet computers/devices are receiving gigabit speeds. What I mean is the computers that are gigabit ready and are using cat6 cables are showing green icons on the Linksys WRT320N router and my network switch, which is only 10/100 ready and uses a cat5e cable to connect to the router, shows a blue icon indicating it is connected at gigabit speeds. Is the manual incorrect and green icons really mean gigabit speeds?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have what should be simple. Home network on cable. WRT320N is main router cabled to desktop with GB card. It is hard-wired to a Netgear WNR3500L (also gigabit). That router is hard-wired to a desktop with GB card. For testing I connected a second machine hard-wired to the WRT320N with a 10/100 card. All machines recognized cards properly at correct speed. I ran LAN Speed Test between machines. Speeds were comparable between machines regardless of cards. GB -> GB was mid-30's write, mid-80's read with GB -> 10/100 a couple of ticks slower but not significantly. The LED's on both routers will show different color if GB connection and both showed GB for the desktop connection but not the interconnect between the routers. The routers are connected at about 100' with CAT5E and straight-through.
