Purchased the E1500, updated the firmware and have excellent wireless connectivity. The problem occurs when I connect for a video chat the internet disconnects and then reconnects.

I tried logging into the internet and my WIRED computer would not connect. My wifes WIRED computer next to mine didn't have any trouble connecting. Resetting my computer didn't work. I had to cycle the router by unplugging it! Then today, my (2) kids are using Pandora on their (2) computers wirelessly, and same set up with my wifes computer and mine, and again only my computer looses access from the router and all other computers stay connected.

I can't get it to connect. I have tried everything that is written in the support articles. In particular, I followed the article 3686, about setting up a router with cable internet modem, after the Cisco Connect didn't create the connection automatically.When I plug the laptop directly into my modem, I have a connection. I have reset the modem and the router several times in the process. I've been to the web-based setup page and followed all of the instructions about cloning the MAC. When I hit the release and renew IP addresses (under the Status tab), nothing happened. They remained 0.0.0.0
Called my ISP, but they say it's a router issue.I think I'm going to start from scratch--uninstalling the Cisco Connect, reinstalling it, turning everything off and back on again to see if it somehow will work automatically.
My wireless internet constantly disconnects and then reconnects right away for seemingly no reason. I can't find a pattern, sometimes I have no dropouts for 6 hours, sometimes it happens every 20-30 seconds for a few minutes. I've checked online and i tried to do some research on it but i couldnt find an answer, i remember typing something into the cmd and it said that something was disables, just cant remember what i typed into the cmd. Also, when my ISP raises the network speed, my router or whatever it is can't handle it so i disconnect and have to call them to set it down.

I just purchased a e1500 to replace my wrvs4400n which sadly died. yea I do loose a lot of features. I set up everything without a hitch but when I try to use Wireless-N mode only, none of my computers can connect to the router and all my computers use N cards. I'm stuck on using Mixed Mode which limits my speed to G speeds. I didn't purchase this to be a G router but an N router and it seems N mode has issues. I am on the current firmware.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have an E1500 N300 Router, I've had it for 3 or 4 weeks now. Ever since I've had it, I can no longer send e-mails out with Eudora nor Outlook. I've tried using about 3 different SMTP's just to verify that it wasn't a server issue. I tried Port Forwarding in the router settings. I selected SMTP and POP3 and checked Enable on both, then save changes. But they don't appear to be taking, as when I go back in and try to set them again, it let's me and doesn't give me a Port Overlap warning. I've been told that I shouldn't need to mess with Port Forwarding at all, I just need to go into the Firewall settings and open up the SMTP, POP3, and IMAP ports. However, I don't see any settings in my Router settings to allow this, aside from Port Forwarding and it's not actually saving the changes. I will admit, I'm not all that great with this stuff, and this is the first time I've had any issues with a Router stopping me from E-mailing.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a Linksys E1500 wireless router that I have had for about 3 months and it has been working great up until today. I realized non of my wireless devices could detect the network, so I got on my PC which is hard wired to the router and it to says it had no network connection. So I power cycled both the router and the modem. When it came back up, this PC that I am typing from now has an internet connection but is says it is connected to Network 2 instead of the routers name for the network. My other PC that is hard wired to the router says its not connected to the network, and when I open up the Cisco Connect software it tells me my router is not plugged in. Also, nothing works wirelessly.In the web control panel it still has all my setting intact but still looks like its not connected to the internet.

Off of the switch I have 2 computers and a PoS machine. The satellite system gives us a dynamic IP. I am noticing that my connection from computer to computer and also from them and the POS machine to the internet is constantly switching on and off, it seems. Any ideas what could be causing this issue?? We just recently went from a Static IP to the Dynamic IP. We did not have this issue with the Static IP and wondering if there are some settings I have neglected.

View 5 Replies View RelatedSo I have this E1500 Router that worked fine for the past 5 months, then out of the blue, the wireless feature ceased to function... laptops were not being able to connect to the wireless, the router was also not broadcasting the SSID.So, here's what I have done so far:
1. Check the router software settings, all was good there.
2. Did a "hardware reset" pushing the red button. (now this solved the problem, BUT only for a day, when power is turned off for the night, the next day it's non-functional again. The cycle can be repeated daily, but its a pain to reset and set it up everyday)
3. Updated the Firmware, and this somehow solved the problem for 3 Days... and now it's back to non-functional, again out of the Blue.
Is the Router just busted and it's not remembering the settings?
I'm having this discconnection and reconnection issue every 30-45 minutes, and it is extremely annoying. Especially when playing online, I always get disconnected from the server. I have tried so many things to fix it, but no change at all. I've tried to change my DNS, tried to plug the modem directly to my computer, but the problem still existed! When I troubleshoot from the windows, it says: your computer appears to be correctly configured, but the device or resource (DNS server) is not responding.

Nasty enough that it not only got past my security software, it permanently disabled it.I was still unable to repair/replace my security software. This happens pretty frequently, about once a minute or so. It makes doing anything over wifi almost impossible. Plugging in an ethernet cable (directly from modem or from wireless router) keeps the internet connected. My wife's laptop, coincidentally also a Dell, doesn't have this problem. Neither do mine or my wife's iPhones or my kids' Nintendo DSs. I'm totally lost. I have 3 laptops connecting wirelessly to this router. One is running at 18Mbps, the other two at 0.4Mbps. the internet setting are the same and the security is the same (WPA2-Personal with AES encryption). One of the slow computers is brand new and WAY faster than my "fast internet" computer. The other is about the same as the "fast internet" computer. I updated the I connected the new computer to the router tusing an ethernet cable and it had superfast internet. I redid the Cisco connect on each computer, but it didnt change anything. Why is it so slow wirelessly?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI set up the e1500 and everything worked well, my download speed over the wifi was something like 50mps, now its down to .3 mps over the wifi. When I'm hardwired to the router the speed goes back up and everything is fine. The only problem is the wifi. Its not the ISP because my roommates aren't having a problem with their wifi at all. I haven't changed anything on my computer except updated some drivers since I set up the router. My network card drivers are up to date and so is the router's drivers. I'm also doing all this about 5 feet away from the router.

I just bought a m14x alienware and I have the Killer-Wireless 1202 wireless card on it, and I have a 2Wire router from AT&T running in ch 1 at optimum 10. Also, I have another laptop that connects to the same router and this does not happen to it at all.I can connect to the internet fine but when i start browsing, I randomly disconnect from the internet and connect to it again within seconds, and my laptop never shows that it looses internet. I first noticed it when I was using Skype, i started browsing the internet while I was in a call and that's when it happens most, it disconnects, puts the call on hold and says that I'm offline on skype, and within a few seconds I'm back on. This also happens when I'm gaming and it really becomes a hassle when i have to start the game up again because of these disconnections. Rarely i do see a screen from the actual router to check the wired connections of the router and then test the connection when opening a website (any website), when i press test connection (without doing anything) it tells me that the connection has been resolved and to close my browser and to open a new one. However, most of the times, the pages load fine when I'm browsing, I do notice there is a small lag when the disconnections happen, but the page loads up fine after a few seconds, no need to refresh.
I tried releasing and renewing my IP but i get a message that no action can be taken when media is disconnected? I don't know if that has anything to do with it.I also updated the Wireless 1202 Driver with the bigfoot update, although I'm not sure if i did this right, I unzipped all the files where it told me C:/user/driver/wireless (example) but i never got a window to proceed after that, and when i went to the folder and ran the application, it asked me if I wanted to uninstall all components, which is when i canceled and left the newly created files there.

When the laptop has gone into standby and comes back out it is not connected to the internet or the 'secured side' of teh router. Instead, it asks for the 'guest side' password. When I try running Wireless Manager it goes through the entire process of 're-mating' adapter and router. That can't be right.How do I fix this so the system comes out of standby in the 'secured side' of the router?

The reason is, I'm having some issues installing some HP PC's connected to this switch. The nic card on the HP flaps up and down, disconnects/ reconnects continuously. The only way I get it to stop is to bring down the speed on NIC or the switch port to 10mbs.
If I add a nic card and disable the system board nic all is well.The HP rep says that Cisco has a patch for this unit. Any recent patch or what the latest OS is for this switch?
My wireless internet has been acting a bit weird lately. I use a linksys Dual band wireless-N USB adaptor (WUSB600N) to connect to my router, a 2wire 1000sw. I am on windows 7. Recently, the internet has been dropping and reconnecting the connection weirdly; it is apparent in Portal 2 Co-op mode; it says the connection has been lost to the server, and then within 4 seconds, re-joins the server. Set up was easy, all the devices in the house were recognized, the coverage is excellent, and it's nice and fast. But several times throughout the day, the wireless signal will simply drop off. Disconnecting and re-connecting gets it back on, but an hour or two later, it's off again. It;s fairly frustrating because you'll be in the middle of something, and you'll have to manually disconnet, and then reconnect. The status will show as "Local". Running Windows XP with Verizin FIOS. Old Linksys wireless router never had a connection problem.
