I have CISCO DPC3825 router and theres about 3 computers and 2 wireless devices using internet through it. When i connect to a online video game I get these mini-disconnects. It happens periodically and frequently I'm not sure what is causing it.
View 1 RepliesI have similiar problem, that just started few days ago, when I installed norton 360 and logmein software. After that day, I havent been able to play War of the Roses Beta game nor Age of Conan game, without internet stopping to work. League of Legends does not trigger this problem for some reason.
When problem occurs I get no connection to internet, although network says it has internet connection. I can connect to internet again after few minutes (5-15) and all is fine, until I play online games again. My friend says he hears me a little while (through xfire) after I get disconnected from the game, I dont hear him though.
I was thinking of making new thread, but I feel the problem might be connected or something. Atleast the problem sounds much like mine.
Purchased the E1500, updated the firmware and have excellent wireless connectivity. The problem occurs when I connect for a video chat the internet disconnects and then reconnects.

When the router is first turned on or a setting is changed any/all of the computers here can connect to the Ultima Online game server for login but within a few minutes most will not be able to. Its as if they are being refused a connection to login.owo.com (I think that is where they connect to). 1 maybe 2 computers can still connect but its fickle and can't know which 1 or 2 it will be or for how long.any computers already connected to a game server are fine its just the ones trying to login after the router has been running for a few minutes. My first assumption 2 days ago when this happened with my dlink gaming router was that the router developed a problem but now with a new router its still happening. The problem started when I re-enabled the wireless on my gaming router and when I noticed the problem I re-disabled the wireless but the problem persists. A new modem (the DIR-655) did not work...

As of now, I have turned all the graphics down to the lowest settings, disabled every function of the windows firewall I could find, and ensured no other programs are running (even closed explorer) Any idea what could be causing this? (I have no antivirus active)

Right now I have it setup with a few switches in the network but I can't seem to get both of the Xboxes on open NAT at the same time. Also, my PC loses connection randomly and can't game online.

I've clicked the checkbox for "Allow wireless signal to be repeated by a repeater" and entered my Airport's MAC Address, but my Airport Base station doesn't see it as a WDS Peer.

My isp is bt and I have a black home hub v2, the problem with this router is that it does not like doing dmz or port forwarding for that matter very successfuly, apparently the new router I have bought is much better at these things.So I'm trying to figure out if its best for me to buy a modem to go with this router or to configure the hh to work as a modem only. Also if I get a new modem will this cause any problems with using the bt vision services.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have my wireless connection set up and everytime I open a video file, my wireless connection disconnects and then re-connects after 30 odd seconds. It also happens when trying to stream video through Veetle or Sopcast. I have spent hours on google trying to find the solution to this and can't find anything. I have tried switching my firewall off, changing tons of settings of my wireless connection. I also updated my Broadcom wireless driver to the most recent one.

1. What is the best wireless adapter to use so my other desktops will be able to access the router?
2. What is the distance of signal before I need a signal booster and if I do need to boos the signal, what is the best device to do that? (we stream video, music, light gaming and general internet applications).
I've bought a second hand Dell Mini 910 and when I tried to get online it kept saying to change the settings on Wireless Zero Configuration (WZC). I goggled it and checked the box in Network Connections. It allow Windows to configure my wireless network connections and I run Wireless Zero Configuration and selected Automatic. It will now pick up connections and allows me to connect but when I go into Internet Explorer still no joy so I've gone into Internet Options and LAN settings and clicked to Automatically detect settings but still no joy, I also have to do the above each blooming time I restart the net book. I've tried IE and Google Chrome and I've run diagnostics and they said to check with XP help etc.
1. Complete Internet Repair tool.
2. Fan bar.
3. Mini Toolbox.
4. Uploaded a folder from forum and dragged to system32 folder/
5. Searched for hidden file Ancillary Function Driver for Winsock to delete it but it wasn't there.
6. Entered a CMD prompt I was advised to do.
7. Set up a new user account and deleted the other user account and contents.
8. Downloaded and Run Winsock XP Fix
9. Downloaded Unknown Device Identifier
10. Re run Fan bar
Recently installed a new CISCO DPC3825 and set up for wireless. I can connect to the network, signal strength excellent, but NO Internet. i have read a few threads showing similar issues, but i am getting lost when i try to troubleshoot further. i ran a command 'ipconfig/all' and got some data. I am confused also as under my network adapter it says 'media disconnected' .

View 1 Replies View RelatedInternet went out for 3 days straight and calling frontier about 20 times they finally gave us a new model 7500 modem to replace the previous. The linksys e1200 router which had worked perfectly fine before the new modem has decided to not allow me to connect online. Sometimes it says im connected to internet but web browser does not connect, sometimes it says no internet access. I have no idea what i am doing so im not sure if it is a modem or router issue. I have done full reboots of both and powered on correctly. plugging in the modem into ports 1-3 do not light up the modems ports lights, only port 4 seems to light up when plugged in however computers light up all the ports when hard wired to E1 - E4.i also downloaded the latest firmware update for the linksys e1200 router.All fire walls are shut off and no WEP ( we live in middle of nowhere so a key is not needed )

View 3 Replies View RelatedI've recently been being disconnected or dropped in multiple online games, but this is mostly aimed at World of Warcraft, It can be fine for hours or even days but it often comes to a point where I can't stay online for more then 10 seconds.The thing is, it works fine if I connect directly to the modem with out the router, but I have the same problem with 3 different routers including a rather expensive new one I just got.
- The Problem persists on multiple differnt computers with differnt OS and anti viruses
- I've forwarded all the necessary ports
- I've updated all the routers firmware
- I've adjusted my networking card
- I've power cycled the router many times
With the E4100 I can setup a LAN game of call of duty mw3 and 1 xbox can join the other, pretty simple, Ive always been able to do this with all xbox games that have LAN ability.With the EA6500 I see the game is availible on LAN, but I can never connect to the game, it tries to connect and says cannot connect.Any LAN settings Im missing here, or just another EA6500 bug to add to the list?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI've been having a strange intermitent problem with my E1500 wireless router. When we first bought and installed it everything was working well with no known problems. After several months no one using the router was able to access certain websites as well as a game server that we play on. No one had made any changes to the router settings and I assumed at first that it was an ISP problem. After talking with our ISP tech support they finally suggested plugging my PC directly into the modem rather then the router. I did and found that the websites and servers that previously wouldn't connect while using the router were now reachable. Any changes to the router settings since installation.I decided that just in case someone unauthorized had made changes to simply revert the router to factory settings and reinstall the software. After doing this I found that I could again reach the websites and servers that I previously could not. So time went on with no problems until a few months later when the same websites and servers were again unreachable by anyone on our router. I again reset the router to factory settings and changed passwords as a precaution, but this time the websites and servers were unreachable even though I had just reset the router.

I wanted to port forward it so that they go into the game without using hamachi, or any other networking program. I've already tried once and whenever I ran my server, I would say "FAILED TO BIND TO PORT" or just ask me this "Is another running on that port?"

Whenever I start skype or try to start a video chat on aim/facebook, it fails and my internet disconnects for everyone. I don't know what could be wrong. Using the same wireless internet, my friends are able to video chat on their macbooks. It seems like my computer is the only one that can't video chat. Video chatting works when I use a sprint internet card. I have a sony vaio laptop running on windows 7. Our router in our apartment at school is a D-link wireless N? In addition to this problem, my internet loves to disconnect randomly too...this problem also persists at home with my Cisco Linksys router (model WRT160N V3) and Speedstream 5100 modem.

Then, when I try to reconnect, the router connection thing magically disappears from the settings. This forces me to restart my laptop. When I DO restart my laptop, the connection is there again. Everything is fine when I surf the web.

View 1 Replies View RelatedNIB DPC3825 cable modem. Called my provider and got it provisioned and its working (I'm on an ethernet connection posting this). But when I http to 192.168.0.1, I get a screen that doesn't quite look like the one in the manual. I enter the "admin" and "W2402" and click login, and the screen refreshes but nothing happens (no configuration options, only able to check status of downstream and upstream channels). Pushing the factory reset button for ten seconds to load defaults makes the lights blink and then reboots; same result as above. Pushing the wireless config button has no effect at all.

I have a Windows Home Server, HP Media Smart Server – EX470, that at times causes the router to lose connection, with the front panel light going from Blue (connected) to Orange (disconnected). The Zyxel modem connects to my NETGEAR router. When I play online either wireless or wired from the Netgear modem I have major connection issue.However, if I disconnect from the netgear modem and connect from the Zyxel directly to the ps3 I have zero problems.

My 5 housemates are connected wirelessly to the same router, and are all receiving much faster download speeds (2 megabytes per second etc), and consistant connections than mine (which goes up to 2 megabytes per second, to under 1 kilobyte), yet they may be further away in the house etc.My wireless connection speed varies, changing every second between parameters 54.0mbps, to 1mbps, and ping on ventrillo VoIP software going between 16 and believe it or not, 16,000. I've tried changing the wireless channels, but still no luck, as for connections to game servers, my internet is so bad I can't tell if I've got to do port forwarding/triggering (something along those lines), or if it's just too awful to connect full stop. I'll get to a log in screen, some games like HoN, it will say connecting to server, and appear to time out, nothing happens. Guild wars 2 however logs in, however the second I appear in-game it freezes and lags out.I've contemplated getting a powerline adapter, however if everyone else is getting better wireless speeds and having no issues what-so-ever, it may be on my PC's end, and I'll have wasted £30. A 20M ethernet cable isn't practical either, as student houses have forced closure fire doors which would chew the cable to bits in days, and if a drunk housemate tripped over it on the stairs, they'd rip the back of my PC out...

The Mini is set up to file share with the iMac, and it usually shows up in the iMac's finder window as browseable. Periodically, the Mini vanishes from the iMac's finder window. I plugged the ethernet cable directly from the modem to the computer and everything was fine, so I reset the router, reconnected it to the modem, and went to the setup page 192.168.1.1. I reconfigured the router on the setup page, leaving all previous settings the same (except I renamed the network from linksys to our own name and reconfirmed the WPA Personal password). My computer can connect to the wireless network but I can't go online.
