Linksys E1200 Router Will Not Connect Online With 7500 Modem
Oct 24, 2011
Internet went out for 3 days straight and calling frontier about 20 times they finally gave us a new model 7500 modem to replace the previous. The linksys e1200 router which had worked perfectly fine before the new modem has decided to not allow me to connect online. Sometimes it says im connected to internet but web browser does not connect, sometimes it says no internet access. I have no idea what i am doing so im not sure if it is a modem or router issue. I have done full reboots of both and powered on correctly. plugging in the modem into ports 1-3 do not light up the modems ports lights, only port 4 seems to light up when plugged in however computers light up all the ports when hard wired to E1 - E4.i also downloaded the latest firmware update for the linksys e1200 router. All fire walls are shut off and no WEP ( we live in middle of nowhere so a key is not needed )

I used these instructions to put my Fairpoint westell 7500 modem/router into bridge mode: [URL]. Then I hooked my new e3200 to the westell 7500, but no matter what I tried, I could not get any PCs hooked to the e3200 to be able to get to the internet.so able to get to internet too. My questions are:Is there any downside to doing it this way? (ie, not putting westell in bridge mode). Can this cause any slowness or conflicts? Any reasons why bridge mode may not have worked?

I set up an E1200 about two weeks ago to replace our old DI-524 because our net speeds were getting throttled (the old router wouldn't support anything higher than 10mbps). The same day, we started getting modem resets (We have an SB6120). This never happened on the old router but it's constantly happening with this new one. It'll happen multiple times a day. I called Cox Tech Support and they pushed an upgrade onto the modem but it still reset. I don't think it's the router, since I don't understand why it would force the modem to reset, but this never happened before I installed it. The firmware is updated to the latest version on the Cisco site (1.0.02).

My parents are using a speedtouch 546 modem for their wired internet connection, but they would like wireles in their home. I therefore bought them a linksys e1200, and tried to get their wireless internet working.
I connected the e1200 to the speedtouch via kabel, used the cisco software to install the wifi network, and so far so good. The laptop has no problem connecting to the e1200, but no internet connection, whatever I do.
There seems to be a signal comming into the back of the e1200, since the led on both the speedtouch and the e1200 are responding, indicating that the two are sharing some information.
Looking for information on the net, I came onto 3 possible solutions.
One is cloning the MAC adress of the to the speedtouch connected wired computer to the e1200. The second has something to do with interfering IP adress ranges. The third was uninstalling the cisco software, reconnecting and resetting the modem. Let windows find the hardware and just install the e1200 drivers.

I have a new Linksys E2100 that was working well with an old Verizon modem. Then recently that modem gave up the ghost and I was issued another one (Westel Model 6100G). I have no problems with internet connectivity when connecting directly from my harddrive to the Verizon modem. I am also not having trouble connecting to the Linksys routher as I am able to see my wireless connection with no problem. However, when I try to set up the connnection with the E2100 in the loop (yes, it's connected correctly) I no longer have internet access.I tried de-installing and re-installing the Linksys software (thinking maybe there was some new configuration that would be auto-detected with a new set-up), but this didn't work. I suspect that if the problem is with my Linksys router and not with my Verizon modem that there might be something that could be done to reconfigure something manually but I do not know enough about connections and wireless systems to trust myself not to mess something up.

Reset to factory defaults. DHCP turned on. Status page shows black for router IP, gateway, and DNS addresses. Powered router+cable modem on/off multiple times already. I also have another wifi router (WRT120N) and it works fine.
Pretty simple connection. Just a ethernet cable between the cable modem and E1200 internet port (Cable modem <---> E1200)

At this point I'm assuming it's a Linksys issue since I know that my Verizon modem can connect me to the internet, so works properly. Is there some known incompatibility with this Linksys model and the Westell 6100G modem?

I am very new to port forwarding and firewall issues. I have been told that the software issue that I have probably is a router/modem issue as every other possibility has been ruled out. I have a Westell 7500 modem. How do I access, set or change settings on it? And, which is the better modem, a Westell 7500 or a Westell 327W??

I have a wireless modem/router combo right now provided to me by Centrylink, its the Q1000. I am trying to hook up a 2nd router to our network to extend range and allow extra ethernet connections points. The new (2nd) Router is a Linksys E1200. I have been told by multiple sources it should be possible to hook the Linksy's router to the modem/router, but I am still not sure how to. All of the directions I have read involve disconnecting the old router (in my case, the Q1000) and then connecting the new router (E1200) in order to configure it. But I am not sure how to do this with out the internet access provided by the old router. how to cascade like this while using a modem/router

We are using a Westell 7500 wireless modem/router from Frontier without any problemsI have two d-link wireless n300 routers that I want to add to network so I can add them to our DirecTV DVR's. I have tried using the D-link CD and instructions without any success. Everytime it prompts me for my 1st router's (the Westell's) login/password, it says it's invalid. If I then click to continue w/o the logon and password, it then gives me an error when it is trying to add the d-link. I have tried everything. My Westell IP is 192.168.1.1. How can I access and add the d-link routers? Is there an easier way?

I recently needed a new router from my internet provider. They came to my home and set up Westell 7500 modem router. My home computer brings up internet with no problems or delays. Unfortunately, my wireless laptop won't recognize any network.I plugged it in using the ethernet cord directly to laptop and modem and still no internet. I'm frustrated, I use my laptop all the time and without the internet it's worthless.

So I have a Westell 7500 Modem/Router with Century Link DSL. I've been running a couple of laptops and my wifi enabled TV on the wireless. A few days ago I got a new desktop PC (Windows 7) and plugged the ethernet cable into it. Everything was great but the wireless was a bit slow for the TV so I plugged that in with an ethernet cable too. No problems for a few days. Today, we had a power blip and everything reset and I noticed that the internet light on the modem was solid red and I couldn't access the internet on any machine (ethernet or wifi). I called the ISP who said there was an outage in the area. A few hours later, solid green light on the modem BUT the TV (ethernet connected), my iphone, and my laptops could NOT connect, despite the network showing up with a full signal. Oddly, my new PC, connected via ethernet was fine so I played some Diablo (side note). Here's the deal: the new PC connects just fine but nothing else will. If I unplug the ethernet cable to the PC or disable the LAN connection, the red internet light appears on the modem. It seems as though the PC has hijacked the modem in some way. Even the TV won't connect with the ethernet cable. The only way the internet works now is if the modem is connected to the new PC. I've done all the resents - unplugged the modem and let it sit for 10-15 minutes, accessed the router settings, etc etc. Why would this start happening now after everything was working well for several days and how do I fix it? I need the wifi connection! Update: Plugged my Macbook Pro into the ethernet cable (took it out of new PC) and it works.

I am connected to the internet fine, but there are some websites that when I try to navigate to them, it just loads forever (White page) [URL] I Also, some download links don't work (Flash, or Skype)I have a DSL connection with a modem and a Linksys E1200 router and I am hooked into the router via Ethernet cable. I have no antivirus software installed and windows firewall is disabled The other computer on the network and my wireless device can access all websites just fine, and even when I plug my pc directly into the modem it. I have already checked to see if the websites are having issues; they are not. I have reset my router and set it up again multiple times, I have re-installed my drivers, I even reformatted my computer (it needed it anyway..)I first assumed it was an issue with the DNS, I currently have it automatically assign a DNS and I tried using Googles DNS but the issue remained.

I have a Panasonic Visio tv, I have a LINKsys E1200 that is connected to my Cable Internet. I have successfully connected the wireless to my laptop and have a guest network that has been tested and works as well. I bought a Sharp Blu Ray player that has wireless capability connected to the TV with HDMI cable and the LAN adapter is in the player. When I had the Blu Ray downstairs I had it connected to the LINKsys thru an ethernet cable and didn't use the adapter, but I wanted to take it upstairs and use it on that TV. CANNOT establish an internet connection?

I replaced my broken modem with a new Motorola 3360 as recommended by my ISP. The new modem works fine connected directly to my PC. When connecting the modem to the Cisco E1200 router, the same one I had with the older modem, the E1200 says I'm not connected to the PC. I've triple checked the wired connections from the modem to the router and then to the PC. I've swapped out cables and verified that they all work when used directly from the modem to the PC. I'm thinking some settings from the old Westell modem are messing with the connectivity of the new E1200 router.

I presently have ATT DSL Motorola modem (Model 2210-02-1022) with (1) DSL Green plug, and (2) Ethernet-Yellow in the back of my modem.I have reset the E1200 Router, and tried multiple ways of getting the Wi-Fi to work. This Linksys E1200 belonged to my neighbor, but he recently passed away, and left me all his computer devices. In the Wall phone jack, I have a DSL noise filter as part as a two female plug,
1) for the Green DSL on Modem, and the other
2) to my phone handset. The way I usually plug this in BEFORE this router was this: The green DSL plug from Modem - into phone jack DSL Filter, and the Yellow ETHERNET cord from Router to the back of Computer. I powered on computer, plugged in all cords, except for E1200 power cord, disabled antivirus/security software, I then inserted the Cisco Connect CD and waited , and waited, but it said I was not connected to the Internet. ERROR CODE# 82BD0304. I'm using win7 64 Pro. before i called ATT, I wanted to know if there is an easier way to conect the right cords to the right plugs.

I know the settings for the pk5000 and would "input" them into the e1200 if I friggen knew where to do this.

When I first set up my router, I used the same user name and pw as I had for my old router and my iPhone connect just fine. I decided to use the guest network after one of my sons friends was sitting outside one morning using my network. I told the friend the pw for the guest and changed the pw for my network and created an key on a thumb drive. Now I cannot connect my iphone. When I try to use guest is seems to work ok, but I want to use my network. I chose my network on my iphone and it simply says unable to connect. That is the only info/choice I am given.

Linksys E1200. I cannot connect to the Internet through my primary connection, but I can still connect through the guest connection. I think I know what happened, but I don’t know how to fix it. A connect / disconnect key on my keyboard is located right next to the mute sound key. I wanted to mute my sound, and when it didn’t mute I pressed the key a couple more times before I realized I was pressing the wrong key. So I’m guessing I probably messed up some settings. But I don’t know if on the computer, router, or both. Per the documentation I thought I might be able to fix it with Cisco Connect, but it wasn’t installed on my computer. There were only 3 Cisco modules installed.. EAP-FAST module, LEAP module, and PEAP module. I managed to find Cisco Connect on the website and downloaded it, but still couldn’t fix the problem.

I just purchases a Linksys E1200 router and set it up using a Dell Win 7 laptop. It works fine for the Win 7 laptop, but I am unable to connect with my Inspiron 1525 with Vista 32 bit OS. Actually, it says I'm connected, but the Access is 'Local' instead of 'Internet' - and I don't have Internet service.
After working with Linksys support, they recommended that I contact Dell. I have tried to find an updated driver for the Dell Wireless 1395 WLAM Mini Card, but am having trouble locating it on the Dell website.

I am having trouble connecting via wireless a Kodak ESP 5250 to a Linksys E1200 Router.I am using the printer console controls to configure the printer.I have verified that the password string is correct.I have changed the Channel to 6 and the encryption method to WPA/WPA2 Personal. The printer is configured to use DHCP to obtain and IP address. The problem that I am experiencing is that the printer is not getting far enough in the connection process to attempt to obtain an IP address.Tis printer was previously connected to a Belkin Router using WPA/WPA2 TKIP. But the Linksys router does not support selecting TKIP.I am not to the point that I can connect a computer (via wireless) to the printer. I have a computer connected via USB cable and that works well.
