Cisco VPN :: 3000 SSL Port Forwarding With ASA?

Jan 18, 2011

I'd need to protect access to a very critical web site on my LAN.To achieve this I have been thinking to use a cisco ASA, because Cisco VPN3000 appliances are out of market now.  But i do not know if I can achieve what I'd wish to do.I need (upon authentication) that an user connection to port 443 is forwarded to port 443 (or another TCP port)to my internal LAN where is the critical web site.So basically I need a feature like the WebVPN functionality of the Cisco VPN 3000 serires where you can logon.using web interface and you are forwarded to specific TCP port or you jsut type the web site where you want to go after authentication. For maximum compatibility (because users can be anywhere in the world and IPSEC or PPTP can be filtered) I'd need to do this with an SSL port forwarding. Is it possible to do this with the SSL VPN configuration options of the Cisco ASA ? Is it possible then to authorize users using LDAP group matching and authenticate users using kerberos 5 ?

Port Forwarding With ZyXel Q1000 Modem And Trendnet TEW-452BRP Router?

Dec 30, 2012

I am trying to allow an external website access to my http://localhost:8080. It is a trusted website.

I have a ZyXel Q1000 modem and a Trendnet TEW-452BRP router. The TRENDnet is serving a PS3, Xbox, Wii, and 2 iMacs and the ZyXel is serving the TRENDnet.

My public IP for the ZyXel is 65.xxx.xx.152 and it's IP address is 192.168.0.1 with a range of 192.168.0.2-254 My TRENDnet IP is 192.168.1.1 and a range of 192.168.1.100-199

I have setup a Virtual Server on the TRENDnet using HTTP, Protocol TCP 80/80 and LAN Server 198.168.1.109 (my iMac localhost). I have also setup Application forwarding and Port forwarding on both the modem and router (at different times, trying to resolve this).

Naturally none of those worked. I don't know if I need a Port forwarded or Application forwarding or the Virtual Server. Also don't know if either of those need to be on one or both devices.

All I do know is to access my localhost from the Internet, all I need to do is put http://65.xxx.xx.152 in the address bar of a browser outside my network, and my modem/and or router should forward the request to my iMac and my localhost:8080.
But every configuration I have tried does nothing of the sort.

Linksys Cable / DSL :: WAG320N Port Forwarding / DMZ Not Working

Mar 4, 2011

I'm trying to open some ports for my webserver, I've configured the static IP and forwarded port 80 to my server's IP and I checked the port on canyouseeme.org and it says it's closed. I've tried multiple ports (21, 22, 7878 whatever) and all do the same thing.

So my next step was to try DMZ on the server's IP .. still no happiness .. ports stay closed. I checked this on multiple computers and it still won't open any ports for any machines on my network.

Updated to the latest firmware .. didn't make a difference. My ISP doesn't block any ports (didn't have any issues on my old router.

Linksys Cable / DSL :: Port Forwarding Constraint On WAG120N

Jul 15, 2012

I recently swapped routers from a dlink to a Cisco WAG120N, from what I can see the wireless is flaky on this device and has led me to switching the wireless off for my sanity and to stop the complaints of my family when they attached to an access point that suddenly disappeared and then reappeared and disappeared, you get the picture.

What I cannot understand is why when it comes to port forwarding did the developers add the local LAN prefix so for example as default the local LAN interface is 192.168.1.1 and the port forwarding screen is completed to forward a port to a host with address 192.168.1.X by stipulating the prefix I am unable to use the router to port forward to hosts that live beyond by local LAN.This added to the wireless being disabled is becoming a very expensive branded door stop.

Cable Modem From Comcast - Unable To Add Additional Port?

Jul 24, 2012

Our small business just moved into a new building and I am in charge of setting up the network infrastructure. I am not new to computers or networking but I have never had to deal with this set up before.

Our current set up.We have a cable modem from comcast that has the Coax cable connected to it.The modem has 4 ports on it. The ports are connected to a built in 24 port switch that was already in the building. The switch has it's ports connected to outlets in the walls. Currently we have 4 computers on our network and since the cable modem had 4 ports it worked fine.

What we need? We will have another person join our office so I will need to activate one additional port on the switch that already exists. However, since all 4 ports on the modem are already taken, I have no way to add an additional port. They also want us to get wifi in the building. How I think I have to solve the problem (most likely wrong).I have to get another switch (like 8 port) and connect the cable modem to the switch using a cross over cable (if there is no designated internet port). Since I have the modem connected to the switch, I will have to move the 3 remaining connections to the switch.

Then I connect the 4 remaining ports on the switch to the existing 24-port switch that is already there. I will use one of the outlets in the building to connect an AP for Wi-Fi for better signal. Currently the modem and switches are hidden in a closet away from the office space and would mess up the signal.

Motorola SB6120 - Port 888 Redirect To Cable Modem?

Sep 18, 2011

I was working with Motorola SB6120 cable modem regarding an odd power cycle issue (it would power cycle randomly for 24 hours). While trying to diag the issue, I was taking a peak in his router config and found a port set to forward as:

Application: Comcast
Port From: 888
Protocol: Both
IP: 192.168.100.1
Port To: 80

I understand that his modem admin page is now available from the internet. He said his friend set this up to "modem", but I don't see any advantage of having this done. At this point what are the other advantages of forwarding such ports?Another key note: When the port forwarding was disabled, suddenly the power cycle issues stopped.

Cisco WAN :: Port Forwarding On 800 Router?

Aug 17, 2011

We have the following port forwards set up on a Cisco 800s router. All internal IP addresses are NATd out to the IP on fa4 which is the external interface.  Traffic recieved on fa4 is forwarded to different servers depending on the type of traffic recieved.

We can browse the internal websites from the internet fine, but there is one internal server 192.168.1.7 that uses a db server (192.168.1.5).. it accesses it on its external IP (fa4) on port 1433  but for some reason the connection does not work.. could this be because the source and destination IP addresses are the same IP address?

Port Forwarding Through A Three Router Y Setup

Dec 25, 2011

I'm finally jumping in over Christmas break to set up a Y network with three routers. I run a side business repairing and cleaning viruses/malware from PCs and would like the business subnet not to be able to mix with (and possibly infect) the "home" subnet. Before I knew what I was doing, I set up a simple two router "chained" network by hanging an old SMC router off my main Airport Extreme router, but I've since learned that's not ideal, since the "work" network machines can see everything on the "home" network. So, here's what I want to do. I want to put the new third router right after my cable modem (ISP). I want to keep my Airport Extreme and all devices attaching to it (home subnet) off one LAN port of this new router and my old SMC router off another LAN port of the new router (the test subnet). Currently, the IPs are: [code]My concern in setting up a "Y" configuration is that I have some wireless IP webcams on the Airport Extreme that are using port forwarding (both UDP and HTTP) so I can view them from wherever I am on the Internet, not just from within my home network.

What's the best way to make sure the port forwarding from devices on the Airport Extreme subnet works through the "new" router and out through to the Internet? Do I have to open the same ports on the new router? If so, does anyone have an example using the addresses above? Should I just put the Airport Extreme in the DMZ of the new router (so everything is just passed through - or will that allow my test subnet to see the home subnet? Some other way?

Port Forwarding With A Belkin Router?

Jun 7, 2012

Recently Brighthouse figured out that I was using the wireless router they gave me for actual wireless, and decided to shut it off and tell me I need to pay $100 to use wi-fi on the router. So instead, I went out and bought myself my own belkin wireless router, and plugged it into my old one. Now, I don't know if my old router was indeed a router or a modem. The cable from the wall goes into the older router (let's call that NETGEAR) and from there, an ethernet cable goes into the belkin one (we'll call that BELKIN). Before, when I was using the Wi-Fi on the NETGEAR, port forwarding worked fine, except for having to re-forward ports after my dynamic ip changed. Now, because of the BELKIN router, I can't forward anything? I went into the router management at 192.168.2.1 (for the Belkin), went to Virtual servers forwarded the port 25565 No one can connect to my Minecraft server, only when I plug my computer into my NETGEAR with ethernet (hardwire).

Port Forwarding With Verizon DSL And Linksys Router

Mar 24, 2011

I use Bit Torrent to trade Grateful Dead concert recordings (all legit trading). I have Verizon DSL, a Westell 6100G Modem and a Linksys WRT 160N V2 Router. The Modem is located at 192.168.1.1 and the Router at 192.168.2.1. In the router setup page I have properly forwarded and triggered my ports. However, when I visit my torrent site, it tells me that I am firewalled or "NAT". I used to have the Linksys WRT54G Router and it was configured to PPPoE and everything worked fine. One day I did a firmware upgrade on the router and it would no longer connect to the internet. I switched ti to Automatic Configuration - DHCP and it connected, but performance was slow and this NAT issue began. I eventually got the new router and I have the same problem. If I set it to PPPoE, put in he username and password, I lose my internet connection. If set to Automatic Config - DHCP it works, but, again, "NAT".

Verizon told me that this newer modem self configures itself as PPPoE and there is no need to set the router to PPPoE but I can't seem to get these ports forwarded or get around this NAT issue. It is causing a significant loss of performance and while torrenting I can not connect to others, meaning I can not share what I have downloaded (the torrent client won;t upload). I have been screwing with this for months and have spent endless hours on the phone with Verizon - Linksys says my router is out of warranty so they want $39.95/month for tech support.I have been working with the tech support team on my torrent website and they can't get it figured out either.
