Linksys Wireless Router :: E1000 - Add Cisco Software To A Second Computer?
Nov 20, 2012
I currently have a Linksys E1000 installed and working well. I also have the Cisco software installed on 1 computer. I am purchasing a second laptop and want to put the cisco software on it also. How do I go about doing this without going through another full setup procedure? Do I just install software from the cd? If so how is this done without affecting the existing setup?
Can the software be downloaded without doing an actual setup?
E1000. Setup Acer laptop with router and it is working fine. However I do not have Cisco Connect on the computer. I would like to use it to connect other devices etc.
i recently had to wipe hardrive of my laptop and am having trouble getting hooked back up to my linksys E/1000 , who can i contact about getting password and network name
I bought a Linksys E1000 wireless router a year or so back. it was loaded onto a computer that no longer works. i have the router and the box but no disc or manual. My laptop and ipad are working fine with the router but i can't get my iphone hooked up and dont think i have the correct password. I dont have any software on my laptop to even figure it out. What can i do to get my phone to use the router?
We originally set up Cisco Connect with our E1000 Lynksys Router on a laptop- that has since died. So- I wanted to set up the software on our desktop and so I put in the set-up disk. I keep getting message "We didn't find your router" even though I now have the computer linked directly by ethernet cable. I do have connectivity to internet which I set up using my "Easy set-up key" and have a strong signal. Can't get past the first router step on the set-up disk to install the program- so now do not have Cisco Connect on any computer.
How can I reinstall cisco connect on my computer? I was doing a Cisco Connect update on my laptop when I shut it down by accident When I opened the laptop again Cisco Connect was no where to be found in the computer. I have a Linksys E1000 and Windows Vista.
I have Verizon service for all 3 TV., Fios, and phone. I was told I need to keep their router for my cable service. It is a weak G router. I bought a Cisco E1000 Nband router. Turns out the IP address for both is 192.168.1.1 When I try to access my router, it automatically goes to the Verizon router. How can I get to the Cisco router? Aside from ,resetting it and running the setup disk?
I am facing issue with my cisco wireless E1000, the wireless connection on the laptop reset on its own. Its like there is a timer and it reset's the wireless connection after some time. I was unable to measure the time after which it resets but its happening too frequently causing multiple internet apps to fail example if I am downloading something it will fail as the internet connection is reset. The firmware I am running on the rotuer is 2.0.01 and I have configured DHCP on the LAN, I am experiencing this problem with 3 laptop that I use at home which uses both G and N networks.
I own a E1000 router that I use with several wireless machines. Unfortunately, I cannot connect to the configuration of the router by typing url...in a browser, be it wireless or weirdly. For example, Firefox displays "Connection has been reinitialized". Furthermore, when I launch Cisco Connect, it only shows the error "Unable to connect to router". I tried to switch my router off and on, but that doesn't work. Totally resetting the router solves the problem, but not definitely. Is there a solution that does not require resetting my router?
My guest can't use my wireless network and I can not add more devices like a ipad2. Got a new ipad2 for my son for Christmas been trying to set it up for Christmas, so on Christmas day I am not trying to do the set up. My problem is I can not get it to log on to the network. I have been putting in the same pass word all my other computers in the house use but it will not work...
My wireless router (E1000) was accidentally unplugged. Since then the wireless LED light doesnt come on and the router cannot be detected. All the other lights are on. I tried to reset it but I dont think it worked, since the power LED didnt blink as its supposed to do after holding reset for 10-15 seconds (or more!!).
I've been using the E1000 for months. I have 2 iphones, an ipod, a windows 7 netbook and a macbook connected wirelessly to it. It's been set at wpa2/wpa mixed mode all this time without a problem. Out of the blue: no wireless connection on any device. I restarted the modem, router, PC's, phones, etc. I've updated the firmware. The only way I can get a wireless connection is to use wep. How can I get the better security and speed of wpa2 back?
I am trying to access the internet with my ipod and it is picking up my wireless connection but it is asking for a password, how do I get my password. I don't remember seeing a password when I hooked up my router several months ago. I called Cisco for some technical support but they wanted money to get me and I am not paying them a dime.
I have a PS3, and i play allot of video games such as all COD game especially MW2. It says i have a strict or moderate NAT. My router is in the same room as the PS3, so i should have a Open Nat.Also i have another question, i bought this Epson printer from Best Buy, i was wondering if I can connect to it Wireless, but i think i cant connect to it wireless cause i dont see the WiFi Certification on the printer or anything hints that it can connect wireless
With the E1000 tthe wireless devices they seem to work just fine, I can access the internet just fine.
For my desktop PC in oder to use the router to get on the internet or to even use the Cisco Connect to check the router, the E1000 needs to be rebooted. I am unable to access the router otherwise. I have tried 3 different LAN cards all with the same results.
The latest firmware notes do not look like upgrading the firmware will work. My Router info from Cisco connect
Model name: Linksys E1000 Model number: E1000 Serial number: CVN21L422937 Firmware version: 2.1.01 build 5 Operating system: Windows 7 SP 1 Software version: 1.3.11006.1 Connection type (WAN): unknown
Things seem to slow down significantly to the point of loosing connectiviety. When I check, my mips are 150 or so. Tried disconnecting and connecting again but didn't work. When I power down the router and power it up, I get 300 mps again but doesn't last too long
A lady gave me E1000 along with an IMB Thinkpad because her husband was the main user on the internet. I have an intel iMac 10.4.11, DSL. I have not yet connected to either device via the router. I am new to wireless routers. I have been to the configuration page
I have a Linksys E1000 router which was working fine. My hard drive crashed; I replaced the hard drive and now my router is not recognized. I have reset it and tried to reinstall it with the CD. Nothing works.
I had an E1000 for a couple of years that worked OK. Then it went nuts--sporadically dropped the signal, wouldn't show its web page, etc.--maybe a power surge, who knows? So I tossed it and got a new one on the theory that it would be a plug in replacement .The new unit had a good signal, but also wouldn't show its web page, so I couldn't configure security. I removed Network Magic and everything else I could see pertaining to the old unit. However, the CD for the new unit still gives me: " Your router has already been set up. You need to use an Easy Setup Key that you can use to get other computers connected." Needless to say, I don't have such a thing. Cisco Connect is not installed at this point, so I can't go into it to create one.How can I purge the remains of the old unit so the new one will install properly?
I have E4200 connected to Internet. It is configured with NAT. My side of the router is set to 10.10.10.0 and DFG is set to 10.10.10.254. Server is connected at 10.10.10.1 and is DHCP host.I now have E1000 that I want to connect downstream side of the E4200 (located on the other side of the building). I want the E1000 to be an extension of the existing network so the whole building looks like one network. I'm not sure how to configure the E1000. I assume I need to disable NAT but I'm not sure how to configure the Internet IP addresses of the router and nro am I sure how to configure the local network side of the router. As I write this, I wonder if I connect one of the Ethernet ports of the E1000 to the E4200 and just leave the Internet side unplugged?
I'm trying to set up my E1000 router and when I run the Cisco Connect software that came with the router I get a message that says that it can't find the router, I've tried running it with my computer connected to the router and not connected. I've looked through the FAQ section and didn't really find anything. I'm trying to set it up on a laptop, it's a Vaio running Windows 7, I don't if that makes any difference.

I've been searching off and on for the past couple months trying to figure out what we could do to our router to open our NAT, after having both the PS3 and Xbox 360 tell me I've got moderate NAT. I tried a DMZ with my PS3 having a static IP, I tried UPnP. I messed with firewall settings, to no avail.
I recently found something that did work however, on Google. Basically what happened was, I needed to reset the router and change a few settings on top of enabling UPnP I didn't know about(CTS Protection, remote management) how they could have anything to do with translation of data.
But like I said, after doing a huge step by step walk through, I was able to get open NAT in the network tests of both PS3 and 360(even though the PS3 obviously still says Type 2. It used to say Type 2, but it also used to have an error code at the bottom of the page). I've checked in games on each console, and they tell me I've got open NAT.
Now I still have one tiny problem. Red Dead Redemption. I play Red Dead Redemption online with two friends(who, incidentally, have the same router as me), and we haven't been able to communicate if we were using routers. We still can't, but I'm thinking that it's not my router anymore. I'm thinking his router has incorrect settings. Am I correct?
My router has recently stopped broadcasting wifi, unfortunately it also no longer lets me use it as a router to get internet. if i plug directly into the modem i can get internet. but while using the router i get a computer symbol with an explanation mark on it
I upgraded my Mac OS to 10.7 (lion). I can no longer use Cisco Connect. I cannot recall the password I created when using Cisco Connect prior to upgrading to Lion. Is there any way to determine or reset my password without Cisco Connect. And why is it taking Cisco so long to provide firmware that works with Mac OS 10.7?
I have a cisco e1000 route. i've already set up wireless network successfully with cisco connect software. However, when i logged in web-based config, i disabled NAT with the routing table is unchanged. the problem is anyone from the network to which the Internet WAN port links can ping and receive reply from PCs inside the wireless network but it's impossible for the reverse direction and any traffic from the inside of e1000 can't be passed through.
I have a wireless linksys E1000 in my n/w. In the manual I could see that i can support VPN connections. I want to know what VPN client is supported. I have configured the router using only the web interface and i didnt want to use Cisco Connect. Is it mandatory to use Cisco Connect for VPN access , as this would lead to changing my network settings.
I have a new wireless router which I have hooked up successfully to 3 computers , a playstation, and a WII on a secure network. My fourth computer refuses to save the new key. Ii keeps defaulting to an 8 digit number. It shows the secure network on availiable networks but won't accept the WPA key.
I have a Cisco E1000 wireless N router. It is working fine. I have just completed wiping my HD and reinstalling WinXP and other software. But I also need Cisco Connect. It appears the only way to get it installed is to run the Cisco Setup program. But since the router is working fine, I don't want to mess with the setup. Is there any way to get Cisco Connect by download? Or get it off my install CD without running the setup program?
I recently bought a new router but I'm having issues with it. We have 2 Laptops in our house and 1 (windows 7) can connect to the router and get internet access but the other (windows vista) can't it says that the Cisco router is not connected to the internet but it is. I've tried everything, resetting, reprogramming, etc. I recently found that the windows 7 one had the software installed and the windows vista didn't. What I need is to get that software but I need to know which version to get. How do I know which version of the software goes with my computer?
When I connect my modem directly to my computer (modem > computer) it works just fine, internet connects and everything through the direct ethernet connection. But when I connect the modem to the router and then try to connect wireless with any other computer (modem > router > wireless) nothing works. Not even when I have it connected directly from the router to the ethernet on the main computer. (Which has ALWAYS worked until now.
