Linksys Wireless Router :: E2000 / Setting Static IP For Port Forwarding?

Jan 2, 2012

I currently have cable internet connected to one router (Linksys E2000 w/ firmware v1.0.03). That router is connected to another router, a Linksys E3200 w/ firmware v1.0.02. In order to properly forward ports through the E3200, I understand that I need to set up a static IP on that router.I've basically followed the steps outlined in this video, but when I enter all the IP addresses for Static IP settings, it won't allow me to access the router's setup page. I try entering the new IP that I've given it (which it tries to direct itself to automatically after I save the settings) and the connection times out. I am able to access the internet otherwise, however. From here I'm forced to do a factory reset on the router and start from square one.

Linksys Wireless Router :: Setting Up Port Forwarding On Two E2000

Jun 10, 2011

I recently purchased a Slingbox PRO-HD and the iPad software to view HD on my iPad when I'm away from home.  When I setup the Slingbox using their web-based configuration program, it reports that I do not have my network configured for the best performance for internet viewing, which is what I need for the iPad.  I suspect that I don't have port forwarding for port 5001 correctly setup on my system.  I can successfully connect to my Slingbox away from home on my iPad and my laptop, but the performance is indeed poor.

I have a cable modem and two E2000 routers.  The first E2000 is connected to my cable modem in my home office and the second E2000 is in my home theater.  I used Cisco Connect on separate PCs to setup the two routers.  Here are the details:Cable modem:Scientific AtlantaModel DPX2203 SeriesPart number 4006351'Ethernet' connected to Router 1 'Internet' connection.

Router 1:Cisco LinksysModel E2000IP address 192.168.1.1Wireless enabled.'Internet' connected to Cable modem.'Ethernet' connections:1.  Seagate network storage drive2.  Desktop PC3.  Desktop PC4.  Router 2

How do I setup port forwarding for the Slingbox PRO-HD on port 5001?  Also, what is the best way to setup two E2000 routers so that I can use both as wireless access points?

Linksys Wireless Router :: E2000 HTTP Port Forwarding Stops After A Few Hours?

Aug 6, 2012

The Port 80 port fowarding stops functioning after a few hours and requires the router to be rebooted to start forwarding again. The firmeware is the latest 1.0.04 Build 7. I require it to operate reliably for many days without intervention. I assume that it is a port forwarding problem because I can access the IP on my network from within my network even when I can't access it from outside my network. I am using the correct IP addresses as it sometimes works OK. A characteristic is that when I can't access the page it loads as completely blank white with no error message.

Linksys Wireless Router :: Port Forwarding Using WRT160Nv3 To Minimize Static?

Nov 27, 2011

I have been using this router for quite some time, with a setup like.. Cable Modem ==> Vonage ==> WRT160Nv3 ==> PC.  It has been working very fine for all these years (6), but now I hear static disturbances in my phone calls, and so I decided to do port forwarding for the vonage device, to minimize the noise.  This device uses a static ip address of 192.168.15.1, and in the Linksys software, I am not able to use any ip addresses other than "192.168.1.*" in the port forwarding page.

Currently my router is set to DHCP and I read and heard from other sources that a static IP is the way to go but I can't seem to get it setup when I follow youtube videos or read how-to guides.Which is the best choice for a solid connection?  Port forward the ports need to play the game or setup a static ip or some sort of combination of both? How to setup a static IP with the linksys e4200? I also have a linksys repeater to boost the signal strength. Its the Linksys RE1000 repeater. Also, if you have any other suggestions that might be better such as leaving my router on DHCP and making changes somewhere else in the router configuration page (192.168.1.1).

Linksys Wireless Router :: WRT320N - Setting Up Static LAN & Custom DHCP Pool

It asks me to set up a static LAN IP (10.x.x.x range) and edit the DHCP pool of the router. When I'm logged in to the routers admin, it doesn't seem I'm able to do any of this.

Earlier in the tutorial it also asked me to set up a static IP for the router, which I did I suppose.

I've added a screenshot of the admin panel, in case that's relevant.

I have read every post here about port forwarding on the RV220W and none are clear. Here is my scenario.

I have 5 static IP Addresses. I want to use one of the IP addresses to setup remote access using Remote Desktop Connection from outside the office using port address translation. for example i would like to use RDC and a specific port such as 7000 and connect to an internal PC on port 3389. sounds simple. i do this all the time on Cisco ASA's, Netgear, D-link, etc. but for the life of me cannot do it on this cisco firewall. so the port address should look like 25.25.25.25:7000 and connect to 192.168.1.25:3389. i have tried everything based on the posts without luck.

Linksys Wireless Router :: EA2700 - NAT And Port Forwarding?

Feb 6, 2013

My first issue with this device is when I try to untick NAT to disable it I lose my internet connection. This also disables access to router's address 192.168.1.1 forcing me to reset the device and set it up all over again. Why is this happening? I tried this at least five times with the same result. Second question I have is if the DHCP reservation is the right option if I want to forward ports for certain applications like Vuze? When the DHCP reservation window opens I see all my wireless devices in the list (laptop, phone) but not the main computer which is connected through ethernet port. But that is yet another problem.

I've got a cable modem, connection is set to Automatic DHCP and I all want is to disable all firewalls, NAT and other unnecessary protection that's slowing my internet speed, set up MAC address filtering, port forwarding and close this terrible software so I never have to see it or think about it ever again.

Linksys Wireless Router :: Port Forwarding On A WRT120N

Nov 1, 2009

I just bought a WRT120N wireless router, and have run into some strange problems with port forwarding. I have a two router setup, because my ISP have set it up so i can only use my router from them to get my connection, and then i just have that one connected to my WRT120N. So my setup looks like the following:

The problem is that ONLY the three first ports works. I have forwarded them in the exact same manner, give it a name, put in the same external and internal port, and enable the port forwarding, but according ot can you seeme.org, only 4667, 6112, and 4669 can be seen, the rest is not responding. I even tried to enable port 21, which is a default setting in the router, but it will just not work.I have of course tried to reboot both router and PC, upgraded the routers firmware, but no luck.

Linksys Wireless Router :: E4200 Port Forwarding On TCP / 80 And 443

Aug 31, 2012

I'm a happy user of the E4200 for a few weeks now, and all in all it's a very robust and useful router.Within my network I have a webserver running using both HTTP (TCP 80) and HTTPS (TCP 443). I want to make this webserver available to the internet and so I configure port forwarding to forward port TCP 80 and TCP 443 to my internal webserver. As soon as I now apply these settings, I loose connection to the webinterface of the E4200 and get connected to my internal webserver. I would expect the router would only forward connections coming in through the external interface of the router, however this is apparently not the case (or at least not in my setup). So I tried setting up remote management on a different port to at least allow me to remotely manage the router, but this does not work from my internal network.

Right now, I'm assuming I'm doing something wrong, or have miss-configured something. Is it possible to switch the webadmin port to a different port (like 8080 and 8443)?
