After a recent lighting strick close by I can not connect to the internet through my router. Stright from the modem works fine. The port light on the router does not come on. I rebooted modem, router and computer with no luck. It's like I've lost my network adapters and I don't know how to get them back. I tryed another E2000 and it's the same way.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI recently purchased a Slingbox PRO-HD and the iPad software to view HD on my iPad when I'm away from home. When I setup the Slingbox using their web-based configuration program, it reports that I do not have my network configured for the best performance for internet viewing, which is what I need for the iPad. I suspect that I don't have port forwarding for port 5001 correctly setup on my system. I can successfully connect to my Slingbox away from home on my iPad and my laptop, but the performance is indeed poor.
I have a cable modem and two E2000 routers. The first E2000 is connected to my cable modem in my home office and the second E2000 is in my home theater. How do I setup port forwarding for the Slingbox PRO-HD on port 5001? Also, what is the best way to setup two E2000 routers so that I can use both as wireless access points?
I was wanting to port forward a port that was 25565 for a game of mine, but everytime I try it won't work.
By the way, it's 7AM and I didn't sleep yet so i'll explain more detailed in the morning.

I have just upgraded my Linksys router from an older one to the E-2500 about a week ago. Everything is working great on my wired desktop and 3 wireless laptops except the printer will no longer work from any of the computers. I've checked the printer wireless settings and they are correct (ssid and password) and it says it's connected to the wlan. Each of the computers shows the printer is active and set to default BUT the port light on the back of the new router is not on. I have changed cables and still no light, the printer is set up for sharing and it did work a couple days ago but port light was on then.
I have not added anything that wasn't hooked up on my old router, I"m just trying to get what I had on the old router to work on the new one. Everytime I call support, they have me change something that messes up what a previous agent had me do. Now they want me to pay for a direct connection so they can upgrade my router firmware...they didn't even ask what version I already had which happen to be the same version that is available on [URL] so if I had agreed, I would have paid for nothing. I had already paid $29.99 for additional 14 day support on my old router only to find out I needed a new one.
I've been using Linksys routers for quite awhile but I'm just about ready to change brands. I would really like to give this E-2500 a chance.
I currently have cable internet connected to one router (Linksys E2000 w/ firmware v1.0.03). That router is connected to another router, a Linksys E3200 w/ firmware v1.0.02. In order to properly forward ports through the E3200, I understand that I need to set up a static IP on that router.I've basically followed the steps outlined in this video, but when I enter all the IP addresses for Static IP settings, it won't allow me to access the router's setup page. I try entering the new IP that I've given it (which it tries to direct itself to automatically after I save the settings) and the connection times out. I am able to access the internet otherwise, however. From here I'm forced to do a factory reset on the router and start from square one.

View 5 Replies View RelatedThe Port 80 port fowarding stops functioning after a few hours and requires the router to be rebooted to start forwarding again. The firmeware is the latest 1.0.04 Build 7. I require it to operate reliably for many days without intervention. I assume that it is a port forwarding problem because I can access the IP on my network from within my network even when I can't access it from outside my network. I am using the correct IP addresses as it sometimes works OK. A characteristic is that when I can't access the page it loads as completely blank white with no error message.

I wanted to port forward it so that they go into the game without using hamachi, or any other networking program. I've already tried once and whenever I ran my server, I would say "FAILED TO BIND TO PORT" or just ask me this "Is another running on that port?"

When i looked at my E2000, I noticed that it didn't have a phone port in it (Rj11). Not sure what to do. View 3 Replies View RelatedI can connect to my router but either way it seems like i can't get any internet access (both wireless and by cable): url...I have tried the steps that the linksys FAQ suggests shall fix this problem, but this has not worked. I have also tried to reset the router without any luck. I know it its not the modem that is causing the problem because I'm wired to it now.On the E2000 every light is blinking as it should be (hence the FAQ) so it indicates that there might be a problem with the connection between the router and the computer (tested on other computers too without success).

After connecting the router I have no internet connection. I do not get a light on the WAN connection after the ethernet cable is attached. I know the light works because when I power it on all the lights come on. I cloned the MAC address but this did not work. I have searched the forums for hours and tried different ideas to no avail. My PC recognized the router and I'm able to get to all the settings but cannot establish a connection from the router to the modem. I also tried different ethernet cables to eliminate that possiblilty.

My only concern is about the HD light that is always on, even when nobody is accessing it. I turned off the Auto-scan option but the HD seems to be always reading something...
When this HD was plugged on my computer the light was on during access only.Is it OK? I mean, isn't something that will decrease the HD lifespam? Is there a way to tell the E4200 to not access the HD when nobody is using it?
I would like to set the router's dns entries but I don't see how to do that. Basic setup page has DNS setep for the DHCP scope but I don't want to push dns to my pc's. What I am looking to do is to use an alternate dns to what my service provder pushes and still have the abliity to route on my internal network.

View 9 Replies View RelatedMy internet cut out last week and after calling my ISP I found out it was in fact my router that was causing the problem (regular connection to PPOE works fine). I've only had my E2000 about 2-3 months and have not had any problems with it. I've restarted the router, done a factory reset, upgraded the firmware, renewed the IP and still I cannot get any connectivity. I can access the router UI fine and I get a response from pinging it and also I have tried replacing the cables but that didn't fix the problem either.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm using E2000 currently and meet a wireless connection problem. The speed can up to 300M bps. When I confiured the E2000 to band auto (20-40mhz) and my wireless network card to work at also auto (20-40) mode, it always down to 144M speed when connection.
If I changed some settings in E2000's wireless configuration, in the status sheet I can see it works at 40MHZ. But after a while,(5-10 mins) it automaticly down to 20MHZ and my labtop connect only got a 144M speed.
how can I deal with that to make it always keep at 300M connection? Note the previous router I used to connect to my lattop can always keep that speed.

The WRT 54GS was working perfectly fine, but I needed to upgrade to a 802.11n router to use with some of my devices at home. I unplugged all the cables from the WRT54GS, and connected all the cables into the E3000 - in the exact same sockets and order they were on the old router. When powering on, all the lights eventually turned on (Power, Internet and Ports 1 to 4), except the wifi is still off. I tried running the installation CD, but it says it cannot find the network. I tried a reset (back button) as well as 30-30-30 reset, but no matter what I do, the wifi indicator still doesn't turn on. When switching back to the old router, it has no problem broadcasting a wifi signal again. Is there anything else I should try, either on my PC settings or the E3000 router itself?
View 5 Replies View RelatedSo I recently upgraded from a WRT54GS to a WRT160N v2, all was well and good for about 3 days. Then I would lose my internet connection every 5 minutes or so, it would fix itself by the time I could open up command prompt and start pinging to pin point the problem. I decided I would update the firmware to see if that would fix the issue. Since doing that the power light has been blinking non stop. I've tried restoring it to factory defaults by holding the reset button for 30seconds, turning it off for 2 minutes and back on. That little blue light just keeps flashing. I can't even access the router setting page using 192.168.1.1. My OS is Windows xp x64 sp2, and I have DSL.

Figgured it was just the phone lines down, but connectiong directly to the modem I found I had connectivity. The WRT54GL (flashed with DD-WRT) doesn't pick up the WAN IP, I've checked with multiple ethernet cables, 2 different modems (all of which work fine with our computers, providing connectivity) and am currently using the router that the WRT54GL displaced ~8 years ago. I'm assuming it's just dead, but wanted a second opinion... kinda odd that a surge would have come through the phone line, through a DSL modem and killed the WAN port of the router instead of taking out the modem?
