The good part is the AP works fantastic - I use it everyday on my laptop! I've had 0 hiccups - but what I need to do now is I'd like to make a guest network available for visitors here.
Tried getting some of the management tools from D-Link but i'm not having any luck finding the IP. Our gateway here is 10.10.0.1 and when i connect to the AP and do a tracert my first hop is still 10.10.0.1.what I can do to manage this thing besides just hitting the reset button and reconfiguring?
that big network has DHCP server which give ip addresses to clients and manage their internet.in one of this companies because of security matters they set up a domain network for themselves .problem is this if they use main DHCP their systems get ip in form of 172.16.58.x and boot up slowly it takes about 3 min to network indicator appears near clock and also they get into problem when ever they want to add a shared printer.but if they get ip address from DHCP and set that ip address and subnet mast and gateway manually the same as main DHCP server and only change dns server to theirs DC controller ip address every thing will work properly .but problem is they must set their ip addresses automatically.that is DHCP ip address sample
172.16.58.23
255.255.255.0
172.16.58.1
dns=172.16.1.1 & 172.16.1.2
see 172.16.58 is ip range of this company on that big network
I just purchased a befsr41. i have wireless internet so there is no modem to plug into. when i try to setup wizard it gets all the way to checking computer staus, then at 99% it says it cannot find router. i have pinged the router following the instructions on this site and the computer found the router, but when i tryed to go to browser to go to site it won't let me on any pages. i have found that while router is plugged in i can't access internet, but the set up disc can't locate the router. why wouldn't the set up wizard find router? and i am using win 7 with xp capable.

I've double checked with Active Directory, and he is a member of both groups.
This person SHOULD have access to Job searches/ and Restaurants,but receives a "content blocked" message on his browser.It appears to me that the settings in Sonicwall are correct, as well with AD member groups.
I am trying to connect to a Security-enabled wireless netowork. I have the key. My problem is that I can't seem to figure out how to enter it. When I try to connect I open the "view available networks"window. I see the network name and it shows a strong signal (all 5 green bars).
View 3 Replies View RelatedHaving an issue with a Cisco Linksys E1500 on a home network. The device has a feature to provide a guest wireless network but the guest network can't get to the internet. A wired connection is fine, as is the normal wireless network but not the guest. The cheesy thing is, that it doesn't list an option for what type of wireless security protocol you want on the guest network. I'm assuming that it uses the same security protocol that the normal wireless network uses, but who knowsEspecially weird is that it asks you what password you want on the guest network but then the guest network show to be insecure when you try to connectthought maybe it was something funky with some of my configurations so I went ahead and factory defaulted it and just set it up with an insecure network for both the normal and guest networks. This didn't solve it. The guest network still couldn't get to the internet. In fact, the guest network can't even ping the router.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI had my computer in the shop for some relevant work - the system32 folder was corrupt.After this, i could not use any wifi networks. I have the correct password for two networks and get the "Network Security Key Mismatch" error whenever i try to connect.I cannot change the network settings in "manage wireless networks" because of:
1. a local wifi jammer
2. my adapter drivers not always working [URL]
3. the repairs done to my computer (i think... no networks show when the device is off and drivers working)
I also cannot alter the current router settings for either of the networks so resetting the password or "removing all wirless settings"
