View 2 Repliesfor example, there are 3 sites, A, B and C. A and B are 1.5 km apart and both are separate LAN(mixture of wireless and wired). C is 35 km apart from A and B. I have to connect A, B and C so that they can communicate with each other. Security is required.

View 3 Replies View RelatedJust got an HDTV, has a load of fancy internet stuff, but only has a wired connection and I can't put my router in this room, and would rather not have to run a wire up from downstairs.
I'm guessing there is a way of connecting to the wireless on my laptop in this room, connect the laptop to the tv via an ethernet cabe, and bridge the connections or something so that my tv gets the internet from the laptop. That's gotta be possible, no? When I try it tho, the connections bridge, but the tv says "Gateway is not connected, gateway address wrong or unavailable". Using auto IP.
I am trying to connect to a Security-enabled wireless netowork. I have the key. My problem is that I can't seem to figure out how to enter it. When I try to connect I open the "view available networks"window. I see the network name and it shows a strong signal (all 5 green bars).

View 1 Replies View Relatedwhen I try to connect to a network where is required a login in the first webpage I cannot have internet access, but only local access. I mean: even for free internet connection, sometimes they require you to connect to their network, then open the browser that is automatically direct to their network login page in order to login in that page.my problem is that I am able to connect to the network but when i open any browser, it does not direct me to the login webpage; it tries to go to my homepage but, obviously, the computer is not still connected to internet, so on the browser it appear "page not founded" or "page not available".

I can't figure out what the problem is, because I recently went to the public library that has wifi and got on just fine. why in the world it will not connect to this specific wireless router??

connect my partner's laptop to my wireless network?
The router is a Sagem provided by my ISP (Sky). The wireless connection works fine on my MacBook, and various other devices connect no problem with the security key.
However, his laptop (Windows Vista) will not connect wirelessly. After entering the password, it says it can't connect because it 'times out' (we are obviously entering the password immediately with no delay). It connects fine with an ethernet cable. It will also connect to an unsecured wireless network we can pick up.
The security setup is WPA-PSK with TKIP encryption, and we've made sure he is using these settings.
If it might be important, he has just moved here, and previously his laptop was connected to another Sky router with no problems.
I tried to set up an ad hoc access point on my laptop, but it won't connect to the network I made. I'm using xp sp3.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to connect my XP laptop to a home wireless network and I keep getting the following error once I enter in the passcode provided by my ISP:The network passcode needs to be 40bits or 104bits depending on your network configuration. This can be entered as 5 or 13 ascii characters or 10 or 26 hexadecimal characters.I have an iphone, 3 ipads, one windows 7 pc and a mac connected to the network with no problems. The password provided by the ISP is 25 characters (letters and numbers). I would hate to have to change the password on all my devices for one Windows XP laptop. I've called Netgear who make the wireless router and they said the only solution was to change the password for all devices.

after recently moving out of my parents house to go to university, my laptop has stopped connecting properly to my wireless network at my parents house. It connects, but says that I either have no internet access or limited access. This does not happen to any other device connecting to the network, and my laptop doesnt have trouble connecting to any other wireless network.

It says wireless connections are available but will not connect to ours. My husbands laptop has not been affected. We have tried everything...resetting the router (multiple times), reinstalling the router. I have not tried to connect anywhere else yet but that is something I am going to try today. What could have happened to the laptop for it to suddenly stop connecting?

View 4 Replies View RelatedMy laptop (Windows 7) has problems connecting the the wireless network at my school. I can connect fine at home. When I get to school, my laptop picks up the internet - there is internet connection/wireless. But I cannot access the internet after I open the web browser. As a school policy, as soon as the browser is open, it is directed automatically to a "Web Authentication" page. But my laptop does not allow it to connect to that page.
I asked the IT technician at school and he said that there is a problem with the DNS connecting automatically. He changed the settings to do so, but when he opens the network protocol again, the DNS is changed back to a preferred DNS number and it will not allow me to automatically pick up the DNS when I am at school. (Once again, it works fine at home).
My wife and I Security Enabled our wireless network several months ago.We recently moved, and after transferring Internet service, we realized we'd lost our passkey. My wife's laptop has, after one failed attempt to connect to the network, refused to even show the network as an available connection. We currently have the router set to broadcast SSID.We have restored factory settings on the router and completely revamped the security setup. We've removed all other networks in the area as optional connections on her computer. We also replaced the ethernet cord to my desktop because the old one started erratically disconnecting.Nothing's worked. My wife's computer is a Dell laptop using Windows Vista.
