I recently System Recovered my Pavilion g6000 and now I cann't connect to anything.I went into the command prompt and it all read "Media Disconnect", so I googled and did the release and renew commands and the TCP thing, but no of it works.Also, my router is NetGear CDG24G50, and when I try connecting to it it will not let me. This is getting pretty annoying.
View 7 RepliesI have a HP Pavilion desktop with an internal wireless media device installed (though it shows up as "USB 802.11g adaptor").However, since a few days ago, it suddenly stops working every few minutes, or sometimes even after a few seconds of connection, claiming the device isn't connected, reconnecting two or three seconds later,as if I had replugged it in again.Everything seems correct in ipconfig when the device is properly connected, and a full reinstallation did'nt solve the problem.

Now after installing Windows XP, I can't access the internet and I can't save anything because I keep getting insufficient memory errors (but my drive is almost empty), but I have been able to update drivers.
I have managed to recover some of the drivers but I can't figure out what I have to do to get my desktop to access the web. I have tried directly connecting to my router and using my wireless USB adapter (whose driver I can't install because of an insufficient error message).

In device manager, i only have 3 question marks left under Other Devices: Audio Device on High Definition Audio Bus, Compact Wireless-G USB Adapter, and Multimedia Video Controller.

I have a laptop: HP pavillion dv7 and i can't connect to my wifi. It's not the first time it happens.
Previous time: Couldn't connect, formatted, couldnt connect, took it to a store, it worked there i arrived home and it was working.
This time: I had internet and i was playing Guild Wars 2, it lagged, the connection went down, cant connect to my wifi anymore.
Already tried to reset the router, rebooted the pc, clear all the networks memorized on the wifi list, and this:

I just want to know how to disconnect, and re-connect my router from and to the server. (not looking to pull the plug)I had an older adsl router from TP-link, worked great. It had a connect and disconnect button when I logged into the router. (connect would become disconnect when connected to server, and disconnect would become connect when not connected) how I can disconnect, and connect to the server using this router? View 1 Replies View RelatedFor over a month now my laptop has been unable to connect to the internet via a wireless connection. It will connect to the network, but that's as far as it goes. Resetting the router does nothing, and the same can be said for resetting the network wireless adapter. However connecting via the LAN cable to the Router will allow me to connect to the internet and use it normally.I've even tried deleting the wireless information for my network off the computer and re-inputting it but that didn't solve the problem either.I have an HP Pavilion g7 notebook PC that is running Windows 7. I got in it June 2012 brand new and have had nothing but problems with the wireless. It worked fantastic for the first few months and then this happened for the first time. I managed to fix it by myself that time, but I don't remember exactly what I did. It worked alright for the next few months but it was kind of spotty and temperamental. And now it's not working at all. I've tried everything I can think of to fix the problem but nothing has worked so far. I try to connect to the wireless network at my home, and either of the 2 wifi networks at my university, and I can't make either one work reliably. I have been on the online chat support with HP at least 5 times and the problem is still unresolved.

I have had this laptop for at least 3 years and it connects to any other wireless connection I've ever tried ( at my sons with Cox, every airport, overseas, and with my previous Qwest routers ). Since I moved and now have a Qwest PK5000Z router this laptop will not connect. The error message I get is " The network security key is incorrect ", but it's not of course. All other laptops I've used here connect successfully, Dell, Mac, Toshiba, etc.

I reinstalled windows vista on my HP pavilion dv4-1430us, after the fresh installation, the wireless internt would not work at all, and even when trying to plug in an ethernet cord it still would not connect to the internet. Is it missing the drivers needed in order to connect to the internet? if so where can i find them?

I know the router works fine because my pc (also windows 7) connects just fine. Also, when I take my laptop to a different wireless network, (i.e. coffee shop, library, etc.) it works fine. I am able to get an ethernet connection, just not wirelessly. Windows diagnostics gets me nowhere.

View 14 Replies View RelatedI own a HP pavilion dv7 laptop and I'm having trouble connecting to my home connection. My laptop connects to other connections but my desktop PC and gaming console are connecting to the "broken" internet just fine so I'm assuming it's the laptop.
I've tried unplugging the modem/router for minutes, uninstalling/reinstalling the network adapter device ((It now keeps coming up as "unidentified network" instead of the original name for the connection; Should I be concerned??)), and even just stopped using the laptop for a few days to see if somehow that would fix it.
I've troubleshot it and it says theres a problem with my access point/router but I don't see how that's the problem if everything else is working fine. I've spent 3 hours looking into solutions to this problem and I've come accross that the router may not be giving the laptop an IP to connect too but I'm still not sure how to fix this issue or if it's another issue all together.
My WiFi card went out in my HP Pavillion dv6000 and I tried installing an external adapter. Actually I've tried 2 different ones and both try and try to connect but can't. The signal is strong but connectivity is weak. I think the problem is that when my brother installed the first one (belkin) he enabled security on my internet connection. He lives in another town and he can't remember what the security code that he put in is. I never had any problem connecting when my internal wifi was working and the connection wasn't secured. how to disable security and make it like it used to be so that I can see if this will let my external card connect? I uninstalled the Belkin and installed a netgear and that wouldn't connect either.

Tests included some sort of number entry on intenernet explorer "192.6.10020" and i also connected the laptop to the internet with a wire which WORK :) But doesnt continue to work once i disconnect the wire. View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a HP Pavilion dv9930us laptop. I recently upgraded to Win 7 Ultimate from Visata Home Premium 64-bit. Everything worked fine until I decided that I didn't want WinAmp that I previously installed. I uninstalled WinAmp. However, when I rebooted the latop, it went into an infinte loop after startup (that is, it would load all the applicatons, but whenever it connected to the internet, it would go into an infinite loop). I also uninstalled HP Quick Launch Buttons. I thought the laptop was going into an infinite loop because it was looking for these programs since they may not have been properly uninstalled. I went ahead an reinstalled these programs but after 30 seconds after startup, when trying to connect to the wirless network, it would freeze (that is only the mouse would work but everything else on the desktop was unresponsive). I edited msconfig several times, at one point, went through each program to see which ones were responsible for the laptop freeze. I found two programs, the SSDP Discovery and the CNG Isolation Key that were causing the laptop to freeze up after startup. I later found out that these two programs, especially the CNG Isolation Key were important to connect wirelessly. The virus program I have is Kaspersky and I already ran a malwarebytes scan through safe mode. At this point, all applications work fine except that I cannot connect to the wireless network. I ran the troubleshoot for the wirless network and reinstalled the drivers but it still cannot detect any wireless networks. Is there anything I can do without reinstalling Win 7 or updating the BIOS? The radio button or the wireless adapter is blue telling me that its working ok. When I checked it through device manager, it says that the device is working properly. connect to my wireless network? (There is no problem with the wireless network through the wireless router since I can connect with no issues on another laptop).

HP Pavilion dv6000 won't connect to my home wireless EDiAMAX BR-6204wg router via wireless. The HP will connect wireless in other locals and is working with a LAN connection to same router. This is our daughter's machine with Vista and we have trouble finding our way around in it. [code]

However, it does connect to pretty much any other router wherever we go. And there kicker is, the desktop I am on now, my phone, and pretty much everything else, WILL connect to my router (both n and g wireless devices). So, here are the details: My laptop is an HP Pavilion G Series, running Windows 7. My router is an N600 Wireless Dual Band Gigabit Router (WNDR3700). The computer I am currently using (and do the router config on) is running Windows 7 as well. The router has both a g and n setup (WPA2-PSK [AES] pass). Passwords for both n and g are the same, so there is never any confusion.

View 12 Replies View RelatedWe had a number of Linksys SRW2048 / SRW2024 switches that had the "bloated capacitor issue" or "bad capacitor issue".These units would basically disconnect/connect their ports.Applications would sometimes crash on workstations.These were all located at different client sites.These were replaced under warranty with the SG300-52 units.When we implemented the SG300-52 units at several sites we noticed the the logs showed disconnect/ connects.We were not seeing apps crash.Support advised they were not aware of any issues.We did a firmware update that was available that made no difference. (1.1.0.73)6 months have now passed.
We noticed at our site very poor throughput one night doing a very heavy file copy data transfer between two computers.It actually ground all other computers on the network to a halt.We inspected the switch.It had "all lights flashing".We thought this strange and shutdown the whole system. Problem still existed.Power cycled the switch. Problem still existed.Noticed their was a new firmware update. (1.1.2.0)We implemented this.The lights on the switch stopped "all lights flashing".Throughput was back to normal. (ie didnt grind all other computers to a halt)
We then had a second site complain of similar issues.Heavy throughput between two computers bought all other computers to a grinding halt.Lights were "all flashing" on switch.Workstation would disconnect/connect in a loop during heavy file copy.We implemented the firmware update thinking this would solve the issue.It now still has the issue of disconnect/connect however and apps sometime crash.We have now replaced the switch with a HP 2510-48G.This is working properly.I have now since been to other sites that also have these SG300 switches and notice the "all flashing lights".

I've enabled the Media Server on my E3000 router. My PS3 can see the server and play media from it by my PCs can't!
I'm using Windows Media Player v 12.0 on Windows 7 and some older version on Windows XP and it's my understanding that the Media Server should appear under the "Other Libraries" section but it does not.
Am I doing something wrong? Is there a bug in the E3000 firmware (I have the latest as of this date) or is the Media Server simply not compatible with Windows Media Player? compatible media player for Windows 7?
I did read a post about a firmware upgrade on the 4200 that broke the media player, but I don't know if such a problem exists for the E3000.
I got problem with RVL200, it works good on my botch mac's witch OSX 10.5,10.6 and Firefox 3.6 but stops working after last java update. The machine switch 10.5 is working because I don't update Java but the other computer is up-to-date.

I can't remember the last time I connected to the Windows media center on my Xbox 360 but I know recently I have tried to run a game server on the PC that the media center runs on. I was trying to do this by setting up a static IP. Here is the thread I posted to ask questions about it. I also used Hamachi to do the same thing. It basicly creates another netowork for you to connect to other people on, I guess. When I started using it another network appeared in my network and sharing center.I have tried reseting my modem and router. I've checked my network settings on my PC and my Xbox 360 and they both look like they use to look before I tried to use my PC as a server.
