View 1 Replies View RelatedI need to set up some security cameras here, and the boss has a never used Cisco WAP4410N router. I gotta use my own personal laptop, it's a small netbook, Aspire One DN55E using Windows 7 and Firefox. The network switch is by ZHONE.The wireless accesspoint has green lights on power and wireless, but not on Ethernet or PoE. The switch has power as green, the status blinks green, and co mode is red, everything else is not on. The router is plugged into the first lan plug, I can't plug it in ethernet, as my plugs don't fit. My laptop is connected to the stitch in the secon hole, and the third hole on te switch is connected to the internet. My laptop is receiving wired internet, and it's working well. It's via comcast cable.Now, where it say's 'Configuring the wap4410N Access Point in the book that came with the router, under 'Launching the Web-Based COnfiguration Utility' I seem to from above already accomplished step 1, which is 'Connect your computer to the same network the WAP4410N Access Point is connected to.
Yet, in the next step, it says to configure to the same subnet access point.Now..... I've followed all sorts of things requiring me to do stuff with TCP-i4 and 6 in odd little places in my computer, I've typed in on my wireless network password the default access point in the book as well as the default mask, nothing. I went to firefox, and typed it in my browser, nothing- says each time it's taking too long.I can't configure it, the next step says launch firefox, and I can't pull this off, as firefox never finds that default address.This is too hard for something so simple. It shoud be plug in, software pops up on my computer, a quick wizard, and I'm done. It's been a few days, and I am sweating and hot and am thinking about reenacting scenes from terminator 2 at the cisco headquarters.
I want to extend the range for a Linksys router WRT160N. I don't have the possibility to use an access point with a wired connection. I read on this forum that can be used WAP4410N configured as repeater, without wired connection. Can someone who has used this solution to confirm that it works? What configuration should be done on the router WRT160N to permit wireless signal to be repeated by WAP4410N?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a Motorola Surfboard Modem connected to a Netgear 24-port switch. I bought the WAP4410N to provide wireless connectivity from the switch. All my PC's can get perfect connectivity via the switch but none of my wireless devices can connect at all. Sometimes I can get 1 PC to connect but what's strange is I can view my networked folders and such but cannot access the internet. I've upgraded the firmware to the latest May-2012. IPv4 and IPv6 are both set to automatic.

To extend my wired ethernet I have purchased a WAP300N access point and connected it according to the instructions. I can see the AP from a wireless client and connect, but no IP number is provided to the client. The AP is connected to a router which has a DHCP server via wired connection (though a switch). The AP does it self get an IP number from the router but does not pass through DHCP requests from the clients.Occasionally an IP number is provided, but then there is no route to the LAN or the WAN on the other side of the AP.I have tried a whole lot of things to make it work (and been in the internet chat for two hours with a Linksys supporter, who could not make it work either).I have tried to set the IP number in the AP to static.I have tried to remove security (has to be WPA2 eventually, but for the sake of testing it has been removed)I have tried to factory resetI have tried to reinstall the firmware (the same version as the factory installed)etc.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI've got a AP WAP54G. I've managed to get into the configuration page and rename my router and set a WPA2-Personl password.
The issue I'm facing is that when me and my roomate try to connect to the router at the same time, it shows the laptop that connects second as one that has 'limited connectivity' and hence cannot use the internet. The 1st laptop however works fine!
The settings for the router have all been left to default.
I'm not sure, but does this problem have anything to do with the fact that the router in configured with a static IP. If so, then there is another issure which is that whenever I try to change it from static to automatic/dynamic IP, the page fails and the router doesn't even get connected to the configuraion page(192.168.1.245) after that. The only way to get that page again is the reset the router.
Also I'm not able to directly get into the config page when I connect my router to my laptop via lan. I need to change the LAN IP to 192.168.1.x where x is >1.
Does Cisco WAP4410N Wireless-N Access Point support PPPoE ?If yes how can I configure the PPPoE conexion?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm using a WRT120N and have had no problems connecting most wireless devices, but a Nintendo DS and DSi owned by my family are unable to connect to the access point. My wireless security mode is disabled, network mode is set to mixed, SSID is the same as on the DS/DSi, Channel width is 20Mhz only, Standard channel is set to 6, but I tried using channel 1 and 11 without success, SSID broadcast is enabled.
I've tried every work-about I could find and always get the 51300 error code, and am at a loss as to what else I can try to get the devices to connect to the access point.
I recently purchased a WAP4410N and I have some problems getting it to work. I am on a 192.168.1 network so everything should be ready to go. I am unable to ping the default address 192.168.1.245 for the wireless. During the process of resetting the device I am able to ping it for a few seconds. I am able to see the wireless connection but I am unable to access it even though it is unsecured. All lights are on the device except the PoE light.

I'm having trouble setting up my WAP 4410n. I can connect to it wirelessly, I can ping it, but somehow when I try to connect to the admin intervace (in my case 192.168.1.36) I get the following error message:
"The connection was reset. The connection to the server was reset while the page was loading"
My I shut down my firewall, restarted my router, removed cookies and cleaned cache, but that's as far as my knowledge goes.
Recently I have purchased two brand new wap4410n access points.
I have connected my computer directly to one of the access points, and attempted to connect to the Web Configuration utility through my web browser.
I'm using a: 09' MacBook Pro, running Snow Leopard and Safari 5.
I can access the login screen of the access point, although when I enter the default username: admin and password admin, the login screen returns an error: Invalid username and/or password (or something to that effect). The URL changes to: http://192.168.1.245/login.htm&no=3.
I have reset the device by holding in the reset button for thirty seconds, powered down, powered up and re-attempted to login.
I still get the same error as above.
I have attempted to access the Web Configuration utility on both access points, and both access points provide the same error. I have also tried using the username: cisco and password: cisco.
Cisco, when contacted, said both access points must be faulty and I should replace them.
The probability of such an occurrence happening with two devices seems very low, and leads me to think there must be other factors at play. The only constant I can think of is the fact I'm using the same computer to access the devices.
I have a WAP4410N access point. In the datasheet, it shows that the Antenna Gain in dBi as 2. I need to increase the range of the access point by replacing the antenna with a 7dB one. I would like to know the maximum dBi supported by this access point.

We had some issues with computer freezing on some webpages or after being on webpages for awhile (like facebook). Yesterday it froze and I could not get it back on. When he got home he did scan disk (which I also did) and got it working after going into safe mode and doing system restore. He said an update had gotten through and messed things up. Anyhow, after he was on it a few hours last night, we lost connection. I figured the crazy weather was the culprit but it has been off all day. Our router is working and connecting but the adapter is not. Also our home phone says there is no line. We have unplugged everything several times, checked to make sure everything is in the right spots, I have even reset the router and rebooted the adapter. I uninstalled and restalled the adapter also. It is now telling me that "the connection between your access point, router, or cable modem and the Internet is broken". The only lights I have on the adapter are power, battery, DS and now the US light is blinking. The online and link lights are not on.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI just bought a WAP160N to replace our WAP54G because my Samsung Glaxay 3 could not use the internet through our WAP54G (not sure if Galaxy 3 doesn't like G mode networks). The problem we have after installing the WAP160N is that the signal doesn't extend as far in the house as the WAP54G. We have the routers up the front end of the house (the WAP160N is wired to our Netcomm router) and when you go to the kitchen (in the middle of the house) the signal from the WAP160N is being lost/fluctuating, then dropping on devices such as iPads. We have WAP160N set to mixed mode on 2.4Ghz, AES or TKIP. I tried setting it to 5Ghz but that didn't work either. We always had signal strength in the kitchen when using the WAP54G. if the WAP160N can not extend its signal further or the same distance as the WAP54G? I find it odd that the iPads can't hold the connection in the kitchen, when we've always been able to use internet/wifi there. I'm thinking of returning the WAP160N if the signal cannot extend far enough. router that can extend the signal far throughout a house?

I have a problem about no connection on casio handy terminal when two access point were power on. The devices were link with Cisco access point. for the other one i use dlink access point for the wifi function. I need to switch off dlink access point to make the connection between the device and the cisco access point.

I had the WAP610N for a few months with no issues. As always, I have a custom SSID and password, using WPA2. All of a sudden, none of my mobile units (at least 5) are unable to connect via the WAP610N. However, I can connect to a Netgear N750 w/o any issues. When I reboot the WAP610N, it resolves the issue for a few minutes, but then behaves the same as before. I know its not my network because, I am able to connect via wired and wireless via the Netgear. I verified via the web interface that none of the settings/configurations have changed - but still nothing. Latest firmware has been applied. Note sure If I should perform a factory reset or re-apply the firmware.
