Cisco Switches :: SG-200 Access Point Is Only Able To Access Internet / When It Is Plugged Into Port
Jun 22, 2012I'm having some difficulties with the VLAN setup on the SG-200 and the WiFi access point. The access point (a TP-Link WA801N) is only able to access the internet when it is plugged into a port that is on the default VLAN (PVID 1). If I plug it into one of the other VLANs then any clients connected to the WiFi lose access to the internet and cannot access devices on the VLAN. I have previously used this setup with a first generation Cisco WAP4410N. [code]

Mar 13, 2011I have high-speed cable access currently coming into an older D-Link 4-port wired router. I need to buy a new wired and wireless router so I can sync my new Android 4G phone (I'm in an area with bad cell coverage but I can sync with wi-fi). I have a second house about 200 feet from mine and have 3 Cat5E lines running underground in conduit to it so the lady next door and and her two kids can use the internet (I have 40-50mb service for my business use at home). Problem is that my kids have discovered YouTube, streaming video, video chat, etc. and are burning up my bandwidth. I currently have two of the lines to them disconnected so that I can limit their use to one computer at a time. I'm considering having them buy a Wireless Access Point, can they connect it to the standard single Cat5E LAN wire that is coming from my new wired and wireless router when I buy it?

This IP address also Subnet Mask and other addresses are given by my Internet Service Provider. Everything works just fine but lately I bought another laptop (laptop #2) and now my aim is to connect both laptops to the Internet. Unfortunately, I can't make that happen. Only one of my laptops having IP 193.49.21.65 set can connect to the Internet.

Linksys Access Point :: WAP54G Access Point Unable To Connect To More Than One PC?
Apr 25, 2011I've got a AP WAP54G. I've managed to get into the configuration page and rename my router and set a WPA2-Personl password.
The issue I'm facing is that when me and my roomate try to connect to the router at the same time, it shows the laptop that connects second as one that has 'limited connectivity' and hence cannot use the internet. The 1st laptop however works fine!
The settings for the router have all been left to default.
I'm not sure, but does this problem have anything to do with the fact that the router in configured with a static IP. If so, then there is another issure which is that whenever I try to change it from static to automatic/dynamic IP, the page fails and the router doesn't even get connected to the configuraion page(192.168.1.245) after that. The only way to get that page again is the reset the router.
Also I'm not able to directly get into the config page when I connect my router to my laptop via lan. I need to change the LAN IP to 192.168.1.x where x is >1.

May 10, 2013I'm using a WRT120N and have had no problems connecting most wireless devices, but a Nintendo DS and DSi owned by my family are unable to connect to the access point. My wireless security mode is disabled, network mode is set to mixed, SSID is the same as on the DS/DSi, Channel width is 20Mhz only, Standard channel is set to 6, but I tried using channel 1 and 11 without success, SSID broadcast is enabled.
I've tried every work-about I could find and always get the 51300 error code, and am at a loss as to what else I can try to get the devices to connect to the access point.

192.168.1.1 is a Linksys WRT610N acting as a router and DHCP server for addresses .100 to .150
192.168.1.2 is TEW-639 with DHCP turned off and connected to the Lynksys via one of the LAN ports.
I then have a FosCam camera with IP 192.168.1.010, connected either wirelessly or via a wire on a LAN port to the TEW-639W.
Here is my problem: If the FosCam is connected wirelessly to the TEW-639W I am unable to see it from any device connected to the Linksys. If I connect the FosCam via a wire to a LAN port on the TEW-639W then I can see it from a device connected to the Linksys device.If a device is connected to the network via the TEW-639, I can see the FosCam whether it is hardwired or wirelessly connected to the TEW-639. What am I doing wrong?Why can I not see the wireless connections on the TEW-639 from a Linksys connected device?,The setup is that the internet comes in and is connected to the Linksys, which then via LAN cable and LAN ports on both devices is connected to the TEW-639, which is then connected to the camera.

Nov 5, 2011i have a LAN network between several pc's connected with several switch's and connected to Thomson SpeedTouch 510 DSL Router its ip address is 10.0.0.100 subnet 255.0.0.0 and the router dont give auto ip to the PCs i have to issign it manually to the PCs "static ip".I bought the acer android recently so i bought a tp-link td-w8901g wireless router to act as an access point so i connected the 2 routers to each other by LAN and gave the tp-link an ip address 10.0.0.12 subnet mask 255.0.0.0 so it will be the same ip range of the speedtouch and setuped the tp-link router to fit my isp configeration it worked at first but i had to reset the router so i did the same configuration i did before but didnt work and i cant access the internet using the android or the wireless but when i connect the phone to the tp-link and unplug the speedtouch the wireless works so theres no any problem with the router?

Now I would like to do in put the old 2wire from AT&T in a room upstairs and use it as place I can plug in the Ethernet cords and also transmit another signal. I have what's a called plug link that is plugged in down stairs and then another upstairs and it allows the Internet signal to run through the power lines. So it just about the equivalent of running a cord for down stairs to upstairs. So basically I just need to plug more then 1 thing upstairs that isn't wireless and I would also like to transmit a 2.4ghz signal upstairs and use my Motorola to transmit a 5ghz.How would I set up the 2wire to do this.

I have a vlan for admin/private internal access that uses the native vlan (1) and guest vlan (50). I have configured both and I am trying to get both to go out the same Internet connection.
I cannot get the guest access to access the Internet. It looks like my computer will go, but it just comes up saying no Internet access.All interfaces are trunking this vlan properly. I can communicate from the laptop to the 3560 but I just can't get to the Internet.

Aug 29, 2009I just bought an LG Bluray DVD player (BD390) which is unable to find the access point in my home network.My router is a WRT54G, ver. 2.2, running firmware: Ver.4.21.1. My home network uses high speed cable with two computers on the wireless network, all working with no problems.The router is on the second floor but the two computers and the new BD390 are on the first floor - about 35 feet away. I have the wirelss security set to none and use only the specific computer MAC addresses to allow connection to this network.
I found directions in the forum for a setup using the LG BD390 but with a different Linksys router. I changed the security to WPA (AES); the Beacon interval from 100 to 75; the Fragmentation Threshold from 2346 to 2304; and the RTS Threshold from 2347 to 2307. The DVD wireless connection still failed to find my network. There is a "Push button" connection feature on the BD390 setup which I tried, but the only "button" on the router I could find was in the basic wireless setting, a green icon for the wireless SSID setup. No connection was made there either.
The recommendation connection from the LG manual is for a network cable, but that would be over 50 feet and a real pain to connect, so I would prefer WiFi.
Cisco Switches :: SG500x Point To Point Connection Very Slow After 1.30.59 Update
May 1, 2013I have a point to point 100mb line connecting SG500x switches at 2 locations, with these ports in a vlan together. I use layer 3 on the SG500x's to route between the two sites. I also have RIP protocol enabled to allow for automatic failover if the point to point fails (this works well).
I upgraded the ios to 1.30.59, and the connection now runs at a fraction of the speed. I have hard-coded the ports to run at 100mb full duplex, but I still only get around 12mb of throughput between the switches. I used to get about 90mb before. The provider also hard-coded the circuit to 100mb full duplex. The provider has checked the circuit remotely, and everything looks fine. I tested with a laptop at each side, and did get almost 70mb throughput. I would think this indicates some type of setting mismatch, but i cannot find anything.
I am using a backup vpn for now as some things look flaky as well (on vpn, I can use the web interface to access the SG500x on the opposite side, but on the point to point I cannot - I can ping the device though).
I have seen some references on here to shutting off STP on these 2 ports.

So pretty much I'm trying to create a wireless network for a temple. I set up a network with several access points as above. However, they wanted a network for the office separate from the rest of the temple. So I decided to setup Router2 and connect it to one of the LAN ports of an access point.
However, this seems messing up the whole network. People can connect to the access points but they won't have access to the Internet. Also, if I connect my laptop to the office network, I wouldn't see the gateway as 192.168.1.1, which was set for Router2. Instead, I always saw the IP address of Router1 as the gateway.
