Jan 23, 2012I have PC System Windows XP home edition Version 2002 SP3 and I lost Internet access in the middle of downloading a new program. I have a Motorola modem and modem is connected to the Netgear router. When I turn my desktop PC on which is connected to the router it shows the local connection is connected, but the Bridge Network cable is unplugged I have no idea what that is and if I need it to be connected to the internet. I called the Comcast service and the lady assistant did not even know what the Bridge cable is and I do not know ether since. I do not know what I should do to get the connection back to the PC; another PC work just fine also is connected to the router.

Oct 16, 2011I got new internet connection some days back (like 3-5 days ago), and since then, when I try download at night time when I'm sleeping, my internet disconnects me? I'm downloading with JDownloader by the way. I didn't get "new" internet, well.. I basically did, but yeah... This is how I got "new" internet.I used to have same ISP, but it was 24mb internet, and gave just 12mb to be honest, so I got 100mb instead. But since I got this 100mb internet connection, it disconnects me at night time, I don't know why. I've tryed to lock my PC as I download, I've tryed to keep completely on the whole PC, but still no. Always disconnected when I wake up.
Is there something I could do about it? When I had the old 24mb internet, it didn't disconnect me really... never. Just once in a while, like once in month or something but that ain't much. Is there something I could do?My download speed, it should give me 8-12mb/s (I'm not sure though), and I can't do speedtest.net thing right now because I'm downloading at daytime then instead of night time, because I can't download at night time... But yeah, my download keeps jumping from 500kb/s to 12MB/s (12 mb/s is more true than 500kb/s), shouldn't it give me the full speed all the time? Or keep it above 6mb/s anyways? Not like 500kb/s - 5mb/s that it usually is. There's just 1 LAPTOP (I'm using wires, PC you know) connected on this very same internet too, but it's wireless. May 27, 2011Recently I bought a new PC to replace an old laptop that I use in my bedroom. However, initially I couldn't pick up my downstairs router signal. So, I bought a new wireless network card and STILL didn't pick up any signal. I then purchased a Netgear WN200RPT and everything seemed to be ok while using that to repeat the signal up into my bedroom. Then, suddenly, it all stopped working. The WN200RPT would, although showing a full internet connection with no yellow ! or red x's, it would never ever load webpages. So, I removed it and put it back in its box. Then, for some unknown reason after a Windows 7 reinstall, my network card started picking up the signal from my home router and had a good speed and signal. This worked fine for a month or two before it started playing up again. It would randomly slow down and stop loading webpages, or completely lose the signal and show a red x, stating that no signals could be found. The strange thing is, all the other PCs in my house connect wirelessly fine, and so did the laptop that was in the same room as this PC. After a system restore, the internet started working again. Then it stopped. Another restore later, it works. Now it's intermittent again.

May 15, 2011When doing anything on my PC, gaming, browsing, whatever, I will have random disconnects for a few seconds and it will reconnect. I don't get the "your network cable has been unplugged" message, it just stops working for a second or two and starts working again. This has been happening for a few months after a fresh install of windows xp and I haven't really tried to fix it.Every other computer in the house is fine except this one, it can't be the modem because a new one was installed a few days ago and its the same problem. The router was reset within the last week as well. I think the problem is with this computer alone but I don't know where to look. The problem didn't happen for a few days after I put a new network card in, but soon after it continued happening. I also have tried a few different CAT5 cables, even the XBOX one but nothing resolved the issue.

Aug 3, 2012When I was hosting a server on minecraft, a few people complained that the server was down. It was, and the problem is that my router switched to a dynamic IP after comcast installed a security system to my house. If I try to reset the router, the system goes down and takes a helluva long time to get back up. Whenever I try to switch to a static IP, however, I lose internet connection. Wondering how to fix this. Or do I have to switch back to my laptop - which might also not even work. (I'll go try that, but I'm using my desktop because it has extra RAM.)

I thought it was happening with increased bandwidth usage, but it doesn't appear to be linked to when I'm downloading or gaming. Just in case, I set up port forwarding for my games but no change. I have swapped out wireless routers and directly connected to my modem and it still happens. I have spoken with my ISP and they can't see that I have lost connection even while I am currently disconnected. My stats look good with my downstream power stable around 4 or 5 and up around 38. Also, I have pinged my modem and each computer connected wirelessly and show no packet loss.

Sep 2, 2011Our ACS 5.2 is authenticating ASA VPN users with Radius. I would like to use the ACS to authenticate ASA administrator logins with Tacacs. When I modify the ASA Network Device by checking the Tacacs box in addition to the Radius box, ASA VPN authentication stops. Running original 5.2 without any patches on ESX. platform. I thought 5.2 supports radius and tacacs on the same device?
On subsequent tests found that just opening the ASA Network Device and closing the window will also stop the ASA RADIUS from working. Logs don't show any attempt by the ASA to connect and I'm sure that's wrong. To fix it, I reselect all ACS policy items and save the same settings. Sounds like a bug?

Aug 14, 2011I'm working on a computer that has no connectivity on wired or wireless connections. the wired eth card is a broadcom netlink card and the wireless adapter is an atheros ar5007eg. I found the drivers for the wireless on acer.com and removed the driver that was on here at first and put the one from acer. i cant find a network in range but device manager says its working fine. Then I found out the wired connection isnt working either and im getting the same messages from windows troubleshooter. It says both are "experiencing driver or hardware related issues and "make sure your internet protocol bindings are correct - ensure that ipv4 and ipv6 are selected in the config for the network adapter". it links me to the connection properties and ipv4 and ipv6 are checked off for both. futhermore, in the connection status window it says i have no ipv4 or ipv6 connectivity.

I understand that by default, ACS only supports TACACS for device administration. So I'll get this error when trying RADIUS:

RADIUS requests can only be processed by Access Services that are of type Network Access
Resolution Text: Verify that the Service Selection Policy rules are correct
However, even after adjusting the Service Selection rules and seeing hits, I still see the same message in the logs, as if it has no affect.
