Your in range of the network (right in the same room as the wireless access point). And when you refresh the list, the network still shows up there.It seems that it will only connect to Routers which use WEP security and not ones which use WPA. I have looked on the Toshiba site for the Wireless Drivers to see if there is any updated ones and used the Driver Update Utility on Intel's download site and that tells me that the latest wireless driver is installed.

When I set up the range extender, I assigned an IP address to it that was different from the modem but yet this message still appears. Also even though my wireless connection is connected, I'm unable to connect to the internet - I keep getting the message 'internet explorer cannot display webpage'.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a WRP400 connected to the internet, and have a WAG160N that I no longer use and would like to to extend my wireless range.I connected them via an Ethernet cable and it seems to work fine without configuring the WAG160N (seemed to just work automatically), but I can't access the WAG160N admin GUI (tried all sorts of IPs in the WRP400 range) to change any settings (frustrating). My guess is that it's probably not the best way to set it up.
1. Set the IP of the WAG160N (The WRP400 is set to 192.168.15.1, so should I change the WAG160N to 192.168.15.2. Or should I be setting it within the WRP400's DHCP range which starts at 192.168.15.100?)
2. Swtich off the DHCP on the WAG160N. (I think I tried this late last night and it wouldn't assign an IP to my laptop, unless I did somehting wrong)
3. Connect the two using a ethernet cable.
After I do this I should still be able to access the WAG160N's admin GUI with the IP assigned in step 1?
My laptop all of a sudden can't connect to my wireless internet connection and also seem unable to find any other wireless network but mine.I recently moved to a new flat, but brought my old modem/router with me (Scientific Atlanta 2434) and use the same ISP. Last week everything worked as a charm, but at the new location my laptop won't connect to my network, though I can connect to it through my mobile phone. My laptop only seem to find my own network ("Fidel") but with my mobile I can pick up 10-15 different networks from my flat. Connecting my laptop to the modem with a cable works all good. I tried to remove "Fidel" from my networks and added it again, typing wrong password gives a message saying "wrong network key" so my laptop and the modem seem to shake hands at least. Yesterday when trying I actually got connected, but the connection died after a few minutes and I wasn't able to connect again.Windows device manager display no errors nor conflicts around the ethernet controller or network adapter. Have tried to update the drivers through the device manager as well but it says they are up to date.Windows version is Windows 7 Home Premium.Don't know if my ISP uploaded new firmware to my modem when I connected it in my new flat, but on the other hand I can't see why this would affect my laptop's ability to pick up other networks in my house? we were having problems with our netgear router (DGN1000) mainly with connection when online gaming with PS3, generally poor connection - so purchased a TP-Link router (TD-W8960N). We could usually access the netgear wirelessly on our laptops Dell and Acer Aspire 4820T (both Windows 7) without any problems and were still doing so last night. However hubby attempted to install the new router last night and all seemed to go fine but after installing we couldn't connect to the wireless network through laptops, iphone ps3 etc - even though we could see the network with excellent strength, after hours of trying called TP-Link they went through everything they could think of and still no joy. Gave up in the end and went to reinstall the netgear Router and now we have the same problem with this router, even though earlier in the night it wasn't a problem - we deleted the previous networks so there was nothing stored in memory & tried everything we can think of (although neither of us are brilliant with IT we do usually get by).We even set up an unsecured wireless network (on both routers) and still couldn't connect .
View 14 Replies View RelatedI'm working on a computer that has no connectivity on wired or wireless connections. the wired eth card is a broadcom netlink card and the wireless adapter is an atheros ar5007eg. I found the drivers for the wireless on acer.com and removed the driver that was on here at first and put the one from acer. i cant find a network in range but device manager says its working fine. Then I found out the wired connection isnt working either and im getting the same messages from windows troubleshooter. It says both are "experiencing driver or hardware related issues and "make sure your internet protocol bindings are correct - ensure that ipv4 and ipv6 are selected in the config for the network adapter". it links me to the connection properties and ipv4 and ipv6 are checked off for both. futhermore, in the connection status window it says i have no ipv4 or ipv6 connectivity.

However, even after adjusting the Service Selection rules and seeing hits, I still see the same message in the logs, as if it has no affect.
My AE1000 has worked for about 2 weeks, but just stopped working. Have tried to reinstall but it won't recognize the adapter. I can't click the "next" button to continue the installation. I have chagned the USB ports and restarted the computer. But it still wont install. I have Windows Vista. I also have Norton, do I need to uninstall this?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a Dell Optiplex running XP wired to a Netgear router. My laptop is a Dell Inspiron 1501 running Windows 7. When I got the new router everything programed easily and I could retrieve files from my desktop and print remotely. Sometimes I would have to "refresh" before the laptop would detect the desktop but now it will not detect the desktop or the printer. I suspect that a Microsoft Update did this but just guessing. I went back and deleted the updates that downloaded around the time that this stopped working. I have tried every thing that I can think of to get it back working but can not get it fixed.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to see if I can fix my friend's NAS which apparently has some pretty important data on it that wasn't saved anywhere else. They actually had the Geeksquad look at it and they've come to the same conclusion I have so far, but I figured I would ask the internet before I gave the thing back to them and said Geeksquad was right.
Anyways, they have this 5 drive RAIDed NAS which apparently just stopped showing up on their network. I borrowed it from them to see if I could figure it out. It turns on just fine and my router assigns it an IP address, but the IP address just takes me to a blank LaCie dashboard screen. It's weird because it's clearly running it's web server because it's just a gray background with an empty white box and "(c) LaCie 2010" at the bottom. No content at all.
Additionally, I tried installing the LaCie Network Assistant on my home computer and it says it cannot find any network disks. I've tried the "wake up a device" where I enter the mac address, but that doesn't do anything.
All the lights are solid blue on the front and over all the drives so it doesn't appear a drive has failed or something. Even so, that wouldn't really explain the blank dashboard right?
My pc is windows 7ultimate and my laptop is vista ultimate. the router is connecting fine to the pc. as i try to connect to the laptop it keeps saying unidentified network and local access only. i tired different things but nothing seems to work. it will work only when there is no password on the wireless.

My pop up browser warned me that the site may contain harmful content but I had to proceed to be able to find out what I was being charged for. I accessed the site via an email. I have tried to open up my laptop this morning and a sign popped up saying a corrupt file had changed my homepage. I cannot click on it to set is as my default. I cannot connect to the internet either, when I click on network places and highlight my usual one it comes up with a message "This is taking longer than usual".

I've recently reinstalled a fresh windows xp operating system onto an old laptop. I've been through some trouble getting the drivers installed, but now I've finally completed that.[URL] I cannot connect to my home's WEP secured wireless network to which I have the password. After I followed the steps detailed in the link, instead of saying "detecting network type," the loading bar says "waiting for the network..." and after about 30 seconds, it disappears and nothing happens.I can connect to my router by directly connecting it with an Ethernet cord without a problem. And I know that the laptop is capable of connecting to a wireless network. I was able to connect to a nearby neighbors unsecured wifi, however it was with a very slow connection due to the distance and weak signal. It will just not connect to my own.
View 14 Replies View RelatedI have a netgear n300 WNR2000 v.2 router (which has the latest fireware as of today) and have connected to it both wirelessly and wired with my netbook. My netbook runs windows xp with sp3 and has all the lastest updates. My 2 pc's on the network are both wired and running windows 7 (both up to date with updates). I had no connectivity issues with any computers on any network ever until I got the pc's with windows 7. The 2 pc's see each other fine and they have zero issues as far as networking goes. Neither pc will interact with the xp netbook, and the netbook will not interact with either pc. I installed the LLTD on the netbook, which did allow the computers to "see" each other on the network maps. However, the computers still do not interact and say they are not on the network, even when trying to use the icon provided from the map to connect. In command prompts, all pc's and the netbook are able to ping each other with ip addresses. Only the windows 7 pcs are able to ping using net names though. When locating via "net view 192.168...", all the computers see each other and even display the appropriate names for the computers. However, using "net view pcname...", again nothing.I have selected netbios over tcp/ip, made sure the workgroup names match on all computers. The "net names" command showed no names saved in the cache.

So I'm currently running window 7 on my msi GT683-R. As of yesterday my internet stopped working, however only on my msi. I'm currently typing this on a borrowed mac using the same network that doesn't work on the other device. It also works on my iPhone. The problem is, neither the wifi nor the wired works on my MSI. I made sure DHCP was on, ran a TCP/IP stack reset, a winsock reset, have restarted my computer/router multiple times, and disabled bonjour but nothing seems to work.

The cabled computer is not connecting and neither is the iPod touch, but the iPhone seems to be, as I did a speed test on it, which is giving my usual speed result. When I came back and turned my computer back on, it keeps giving me this message when I try to connect. It doesnt ask for a password, it simply tries to connect for a few seconds before giving up. After waiting a few hours for the problem to fix itself, one of my flatmates got home and told me they are having the same issue. I have tried restarting my computer, turning off my firewall and restarting the modem.

The router can take upto 4 laptops and this one will be the third so itis not a question of to many.All the other laptops can conect to the router when the pass key is put in but this computer will not. This computer will connect to other networks but not the one at home. When i put the pass key that it asks into the computer it says that it is not the right one. I called my internet service provide and we changed the WEP key but i am still getting the same error code. One weired thing I noticed that psp shows only 8 digit WEP key while my key is 10 digit. I don't know why psp doesn't show the 10 digit key. Also, the same issue happend 6 months ago and i was told psp network is closed as people ids have been stolen so i returned my psp and it seems i will have to return it again.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI work next to someone who has been complaining constantly about how his computer will give him some kind of "Access is Denied" error on one of his network drives almost every time he uses it. Other network drives on the same server work. Because it can be fixed by rebooting, the IT person has filed it as low priority / given up on fixing it but I would really like to shut him up but I can't find the answer in google. His computer is Windows 2000 SP4 and the server is Windows NT 4.0.

chrome has an application that auto translates any text that is selected, directly in the browser.is there something similar for IE7? I dont wanna install some toolbar or any visible program, just a program similar to the chrome application, that translates selected text and displays it in a pop up.
