I just loaded up my machine with Windows Vista Home Basic and wanted to connect my another laptop to it via Wireless AdHoc network. I created a wireless adhoc network from the network and sharing center. But was unable to connect the other laptop to it. Everything is ok. My WLAN is on, drivers are also latest.[code]

i have a laptop and a desktop, everything was working fine until i messed with something in the router settings by accident, i changed some type of security setting and then changed it back because i was testing something.. at this point i had to remake the network for some reason, whcih was no problem i put in the pin and security code and i was able to connect through my desktop with no problem.. a few hours later i realized my laptop could no longer connect.. i recieved the unable to connect error.. i read that it could be the security settings, so i assumed i switched something before by accident and i restored to factory defaults...
after i did this my laptop could connect to the internet but my desktop couldnt connect! so it basically reversed itself.. i dunno what could be the problem.. i tried 2 of the 3 authentication modes because i am afraid if i try the 3rd i will lose internet completely then i will have no clue what to do..

I have an HP laptop that is running windows 7 that is wireless.When I look at network computers on the dell I get an error message that says that the computer is not accessible. The same thing happens when I try to log onto the desktop from the laptop. When I try to run the network wizard from the desktop, I see see connect to the internet, connect to a wireless router or access point, setup a dialup connection and connect to a workplace.None of them make sense but I tried connect to a wireless router and got a message that said to set it up manually or set up a flash drive, neither of which makes sense. I tried set it up manually and all that happened is the router setup screen opened up.I tried the same thing on the laptop and the setup the network wizard opened a screen that said choose a wireless router or access point to configure, but nothing ever showed up on that screen.

Previously, all computers were connected to a security-enabled network called 'Johnson'.I installed the new adapter via the wizard and it ended up creating a new network entitled 'NTGR_zhOXSTT8ZSXtTUsaRd5lXfrq-WPS'. Johnson has now disappeared from the list and no other computer is able to connect to this new network. View 6 Replies View Relatedi have 2 dell computers (and more but just worried about these two for now)... mainpc and sparepc, i had sparepc hooked to my tv and all pc's in the house, and a tv, networked to it... it all worked great, after a few minutes of setting it up... and then the hard drive crashed on spare pc and i got a new one, installed windows again both pc's use the same installation disk both pc's are hooked to a workswitch, which is hooked to a uverse gateway (router)... but it should be noted that hooking everything to wireless changes nothing... i get the same results can reach out to anything in the house and network great... but nothing can connect to sparepc... it keeps asking for username/password, even tho none is set I've gone through all the file sharing, homegroup, and folder options... ive reset ownership on folders and permissions... ive tried making/changing user profiles... but i cannot get from mainpc to sparepc home group does not work because the network does not work. as soon as the network works, homegroup will spring to life (at least, thats what happened the last time) if i right click on a folder, go to properties, share tab, and hit the share button... it asks for permissions for users... i set them, hit share, and it comes up and says, "you cant share this folder" ... with no explanation

My pop up browser warned me that the site may contain harmful content but I had to proceed to be able to find out what I was being charged for. I accessed the site via an email. I have tried to open up my laptop this morning and a sign popped up saying a corrupt file had changed my homepage. I cannot click on it to set is as my default. Since we moved into our new house, our Dlink DIR-601 does not seem to want to send Wi-Fi to both computers at the same time. One of the computers always seems to lag or not have internet connection at all. The Mac also seems to work better and more often than the PC when both are trying to access wi-fi.
I have messed with the channel settings, security, and most other typical settings on the router to no avail. Is there a setting I'm missing or should I enable certain settings that will allow both computers to have the same signal strength and reliability.

View 14 Replies View RelatedI have a netgear n300 WNR2000 v.2 router (which has the latest fireware as of today) and have connected to it both wirelessly and wired with my netbook. My netbook runs windows xp with sp3 and has all the lastest updates. My 2 pc's on the network are both wired and running windows 7 (both up to date with updates). I had no connectivity issues with any computers on any network ever until I got the pc's with windows 7. The 2 pc's see each other fine and they have zero issues as far as networking goes. Neither pc will interact with the xp netbook, and the netbook will not interact with either pc. I installed the LLTD on the netbook, which did allow the computers to "see" each other on the network maps. However, the computers still do not interact and say they are not on the network, even when trying to use the icon provided from the map to connect. In command prompts, all pc's and the netbook are able to ping each other with ip addresses. Only the windows 7 pcs are able to ping using net names though. When locating via "net view 192.168...", all the computers see each other and even display the appropriate names for the computers. However, using "net view pcname...", again nothing.I have selected netbios over tcp/ip, made sure the workgroup names match on all computers. The "net names" command showed no names saved in the cache.

So I'm currently running window 7 on my msi GT683-R. As of yesterday my internet stopped working, however only on my msi. I'm currently typing this on a borrowed mac using the same network that doesn't work on the other device. It also works on my iPhone. The problem is, neither the wifi nor the wired works on my MSI. I made sure DHCP was on, ran a TCP/IP stack reset, a winsock reset, have restarted my computer/router multiple times, and disabled bonjour but nothing seems to work.

The cabled computer is not connecting and neither is the iPod touch, but the iPhone seems to be, as I did a speed test on it, which is giving my usual speed result. I don't no if the laptop is connecting as it's my daughters and I dare not go near it, It does not make sense to me that the iPhone is still connecting. The speed result was around 7mps

When I came back and turned my computer back on, it keeps giving me this message when I try to connect. It doesnt ask for a password, it simply tries to connect for a few seconds before giving up. After waiting a few hours for the problem to fix itself, one of my flatmates got home and told me they are having the same issue. I have tried restarting my computer, turning off my firewall and restarting the modem.

I called my internet service provide and we changed the WEP key but i am still getting the same error code. One weired thing I noticed that psp shows only 8 digit WEP key while my key is 10 digit. I don't know why psp doesn't show the 10 digit key. Also, the same issue happend 6 months ago and i was told psp network is closed as people ids have been stolen so i returned my psp and it seems i will have to return it again.

The pc we are trying to connect to has been configured to listed for rdp on port 3390. I have tested it internally and connect via rdp thru said port.
I have setup a port forward rule on the router to forward port 3390 to the ip of the pc. I have setup protocol binding for port 3390 service on wan1.

View 12 Replies View RelatedWe have 2 HP Pavillon laptops working with a Netgear DG834GT wireless router and both working fine until a week ago. Now one cannot connect wirelessly (but can using ethernet cable) the other is working fine. ISP is Sky. Anti virus on both laptops is Bullguard. It does connect for a minute or so but with poor signal quality and speed of 1mb ps and then drops connection. At first it said unidentified network but after various attempts trying to resolve it does now actually say Home Network but ipv4 connectivity which should say internet says no internet access. It does go back to unidentified network and then back to home network intermitently. The only thing that has been done recently was that my husband connected a Samsung Galaxy 2 Tab to his laptop (daughters christmas present) to download items to it and whilst connected he noticed that Samsung Mobile MTP Device installed something. Could this have caused an issue. He cannot see how to remove this. Below is ipconfig from both laptops

We have 2 computers the main one running OS XP and mine running Vista. Previously, we had no problems with my computer finding the main on the network along with the printer. But now the main computer can see mine (printer and PC) but I cannot connect to the main. Mine does not see the printer nor the PC. We are both running the same virus protection, which is Norton. I really want to use the main computer's printer, which I was able to do until for some reason now I go into networking and it is not there. I know it is marked as shared. When I go into setup network printer and type the name of the printer a window pops up "The printer sever spooling service is not available". I have uninstalled the printer software and drivers and reinstalled but still not showing up on the network?
When I click print a document the printer I am looking for is there but it shows as offline, which it is not. I am not 100% sure but seemed to occur when we switched from Mckfee to Norton?
We are having a network of 7 computers and a server (Ubuntu server). The problem is, two of them are not connecting to the network. When i check the network card of these two systems, it seems working (the green light is blinking). When i replace these systems with a laptop, it connecting to the network and there is not problem at all.
