View 1 Replies View RelatedIve recently gotten four computers together on the same workgroup. They are all Windows 7 in some form or fashion, and I need them to be able to share the C:\Usersusername files so we can grab files from others desktops and work on data spread across multiple computers.
Ive tried using the homegroup function and Ive also tried just about everything and I cannot get them to access each others folders. No matter what I do it says I dont have the access privileges required to open folders on another computer. On a scale of 1 to 10 I would consider myself an 8 or 9 in being technologically savvy, and after an entire day working on it Im just unable to figure this out.
-All computers are on the same workgroup
-All computers can see each other on the network
-All computers have file sharing enabled
-Firewalls are completely off
-All computers run through the same router (though 2 go through a hub then the router, the other 2 go through another hub then router)
When I go to "advanced sharing settings" and try to give permission to a user on another computer the work group doesn't even appear. I can only give access to local users on each individual computer.
can view other computers but i cannot access them. i have 2 vista machines one xp and one windows 7. ive tried different hubs, switches and routers. wired and wireless.
View 14 Replies View RelatedI have an office server set up to about 10 computers. We hired 4 new people and had to set up their computers on our network. Set up was easy and quick as usual. But when I was done, the other computer users, and even the new ones were complaining about not being able to access the DEFCON5 (name of our server) folder to get what they needed.
Basically the only workstations that show up when I click Network are the computers I added the other day, and the computer that is used more than any other computer (the CEO's). We can still access the files by typing the location as \DEFCON5****** and find what we need. But not everyone at my office is computer savy (no body is) and I would like to not have to keep running around and showing everyone this.
We have installed LMS 2.5.We are not able to view TOC(Table of Contents of RME(4.0.3).

He also tells me that there is a problem with my domain registry.Now, Company Y tells me that the domain name's A-records has to be pointed to the correct IP address [which is, of course, the webhosting IP I bought.]Company X tells me to login to my account and add an A-record pointing it to the correct IP address. I did that.But still Mr. Z tells me he's getting the same error and is not able to connect to the domain name.Now, when I ping my website on MS command prompt, I get a "Request timed out" error.

She bought and installed a 802.11n router and bought usb adapters for all her computers and all work, except one, a Dell Optiplex 330 that runs Windows XP.Some drivers were missing such as her Ethernet Controller and a chipset driver but I was able to install those from the Dell website. She had not yet bought a new USB adapter for the computer, I tried using my D-Link adapter and I can see the network in the D-Link connection manager but in Windows when I go to view a list of wireless networks, it doesn't show any. I cannot connect to the network from the D-Link connection manager.

View 1 Replies View RelatedThere are a ton of posts about this issue, and I have tried everything. I have an ASUS Eee 1040 PC with an Atheros AR5700EG wireless network adapter running on Windows XP. I've had the computer for a couple years and it has worked fine, until recently. Using inSSIDer, I can view all wireless networks within range, but using Windows, I cannot connect to any wireless networks. It gives me the message that "No wireless networks were found in range." I had a few hotspots that I would regularly use and they are not showing up in the list of preferred networks. I know for certain that some of the hotspots that are within range are indeed broadcasting their ssid. I can only connect if I manually add a hotspot as a preferred network and configure it with the correct security settings. Even then, viewing available wireless networks gives nothing, and Windows doesn't remember the hotspot. Here is what I have tried:restarted Wireless Zero Configuration service checked windows files haven't changed using sfc /scannow in a command window updated the driver for the wireless adapter rebooted the computer kicked and screamed
What else can I do short of reinstalling windows?

I have the DCS-930L set to Java but when I log into the camera with the Thrive or Droid 3 (both Android devices) I don't get video. I can make changes to the camera settings and everything else you can do when logged into the camera but just can't see the video. If I change the 'View Mode' in the video setup to 'Image', I will get a picture on all three devices (Thrive, Droid 3, and laptop).What do I need on the Droid 3 & Thrive so I can see the video when I log into the DCS-930L with an Android device?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI am trying to setup 4 cameras to view with remote live view. I set up my server with IP addresses of 192.168.1.80 .... 85. The screen has only the option for 1 video channel. I have seen on-line screen shots that have options for channel 1 through 8. I want to assign each camera to a different channel so I will be able to use remote live view to show all 4 cameras at the same time. I can only show one at a time. Do I need a different version than 3.3 or some obscure windows 7 setting?

View 4 Replies View Relatedi have a laptop and a desktop, everything was working fine until i messed with something in the router settings by accident, i changed some type of security setting and then changed it back because i was testing something.. at this point i had to remake the network for some reason, whcih was no problem i put in the pin and security code and i was able to connect through my desktop with no problem.. a few hours later i realized my laptop could no longer connect.. i recieved the unable to connect error.. i read that it could be the security settings, so i assumed i switched something before by accident and i restored to factory defaults...
after i did this my laptop could connect to the internet but my desktop couldnt connect! so it basically reversed itself.. i dunno what could be the problem.. i tried 2 of the 3 authentication modes because i am afraid if i try the 3rd i will lose internet completely then i will have no clue what to do..
i have 2 dell computers (and more but just worried about these two for now)... mainpc and sparepc, i had sparepc hooked to my tv and all pc's in the house, and a tv, networked to it... it all worked great, after a few minutes of setting it up... and then the hard drive crashed on spare pc and i got a new one, installed windows again both pc's use the same installation disk both pc's are hooked to a workswitch, which is hooked to a uverse gateway (router)... but it should be noted that hooking everything to wireless changes nothing... i get the same results can reach out to anything in the house and network great... but nothing can connect to sparepc... it keeps asking for username/password, even tho none is set I've gone through all the file sharing, homegroup, and folder options... ive reset ownership on folders and permissions... ive tried making/changing user profiles... but i cannot get from mainpc to sparepc home group does not work because the network does not work. as soon as the network works, homegroup will spring to life (at least, thats what happened the last time) if i right click on a folder, go to properties, share tab, and hit the share button... it asks for permissions for users... i set them, hit share, and it comes up and says, "you cant share this folder" ... with no explanation

Since we moved into our new house, our Dlink DIR-601 does not seem to want to send Wi-Fi to both computers at the same time. One of the computers always seems to lag or not have internet connection at all. The Mac also seems to work better and more often than the PC when both are trying to access wi-fi.
I have messed with the channel settings, security, and most other typical settings on the router to no avail. Is there a setting I'm missing or should I enable certain settings that will allow both computers to have the same signal strength and reliability.
We have a Cisco RV042 Router. Two ISP's and using dual wan setup. We are trying to connect to a pc on our network using rdp. The pc we are trying to connect to has been configured to listed for rdp on port 3390. I have tested it internally and connect via rdp thru said port.
I have setup a port forward rule on the router to forward port 3390 to the ip of the pc. I have setup protocol binding for port 3390 service on wan1.
