I cannot logon with adsm anymore.when I run adsm, I type in my pw, and the screen keeps displaying "contacting the device". No timeout, just stays this way.I've updated the java version, no luck.I can connect with SSH with no problem. device = asa5550, 8.2(1) asdm 6.2(1) [code]
notice that there is no "with cookie-based authentication" here -- is this relevant?
Rebooting the device is not really an option.
i'm having issues with ASDM 6.3 on my ASA 5500.When i try to add a policy under firewall --> service policy rules (Add Service Policy Rule Wizard - Rule Actions), i'm not able to add a netflow policy as I'm not presented with a dialogue box after I press "add".i've tried this from multiple computers mac os and windows.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI am running into a issue that I cannot seem to figure out. I have a asa 5505 with the Security Plus license. I setup a native vlan where all of my network devices sit on. ie my Wireless Access point has an ip of 192.168.3.2, my switch .3. I have no issues managing these devices from any vlan I am on (permitting firewall access rules). When I try to access my ASA via ASDM/SSH. I have to use the gateway of the vlan I am on. For instance. If I am on vlan 10 I have to use 192.168.10.1 for access, if I am on vlan 20 I type 20.1...etc...etc If I type in 192.168.3.1 I get an error in the ASDM logs that states TCP reset by appliance. This is for any gateway I type except for the gateway of the vlan that I am connected to. I am posting a sanitized config. How can I configure the ASA to permit access via any gateway.

I recently upgraded my Pix 515e from 6.3 to 7.08. Upgraded pmd to adsm. If I do a show ver, it states 7.08. But, if I do show config, it still shows 6.3.Why would they be different? Since adsm runs fine, I know that the upgrade went fine.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am trying to unravel a ASA 5550 config that has been created over several years, by multiple people, some who used ADSM, some who used CLI.
None of them ever removed any lines from the configuration, and none did any documentation. When examining the actual configuration from a CLI perspective:
1. Does an ADSM- created access list end with any specific ADSM- added suffix?
2. When ANY access list is created in an ASA 5550, does it HAVE to be included in the access-group command to be functional? Can it also be functional if referenced in a "nat" command?
3. If the access list does meet either of the criteria specified in question #2, is it completely non-functional?
4. If an access list is applied to a logical or physical port that is shut down, is the access list functional?
I have just logged into the ASDM for my 5520 and can see under the "Firewall Dashboard" tab that I can enable these graphs/stats, why would they be disabled? So I was wondering if I enable these and they use alot of memory how can I disable them again?

I did find a link to register the license, but after following the link and logging into my old CCO account i found that as I didn't have access to anything, so couldn't complete the procedure.Is there any way that I can get the license activated? I bought the unit from a Cisco partner quite some time ago, but never needed the 3DES license. Now I do.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI need configuring a newly reinstated PIX515E with IOS 6.3 to test the configuration of a load balancer.I would like to setup with two Inside interfaces (or simply two interfaces) for testing. I just need it to pass traffic (basically HTTP and HTTPS) between these two interfaces without using NAT.The older IOS is causing me some problems. I don't have an outside interface configured for Internet access,but trying to connect via IP address does't work either. I may be able to configure a second DNS server for the 192.168.12.X network for testing purposes if needed. I even tried to set the default route to the Interface of the production ASA's inside interface (3.1), but that did not work either.

It is running version 8.0(3) and ASDM 6.1.5 Because I do not know the history of the unit, how can I tell if the image used came from cisco and not some download site? I guess I should've thought about this before buying it but hindsight is...you know. Worse case is that the person who had it before me dl the software that was infected with a backdoor or something else. I don't have a service contract so I'm kinda stuck.
Can I download the image from the firewall flash and compare a MD5SUM?
We are planning to upgrade the PIX515e (128 MB, 16 MB flash) adaptive software from 7.2(4) to 8.0.3(ED). In our environment the two PIXes are working in active-standby mode and experiencing high memory utilization.
1) What are the bug fixes(like memory leak fix) and new configuration options in the 8.0.3(ED)?
2) Is there any issues to upgrade 7.2 to 8.0.3(ED)?
3) Is the upgrade to new version software fix the memory utilization issue?
why the ethernet 3,4,5 is not licensed here ?

Quick question. I have a site - site tunnel that is up and running between a Pix 515E and a 3050 appliance.Tunnel is up and running but on the pix side I dont see traffic from a couple of subnets behind the inside interface.On the vpnallow access list there are no hits So I setup a capture on the inside interface to see if the packets is making it to the inside interface and nothing. There is some traffic making it thru the tunnel that would have to hit the inside int first and even that doesnt showup in the capture.

The infrastructure has PIX515E as the Firewall and few Web Servers and Database Servers inside. Is it possible to retreieve information regarding the bandwidth available at the outside interface of PIX (Internet link utilization ) utilized by each of the nodes seperately? I could use SNMP to get the overall data transfer at the Outside interface of PIX but isit possible to get utilization details of individual nodes ? Is Netflow an option ?
View 10 Replies View Relatedi just installed a pix515e ( ios ver 6.2) in my network. and the vpn users can connect to it from the internet successfully but they aren't able to connect to any of the internal resources. some other informaion: i configured nating between the internal network (10.0.0.0/24) and the internet and another static nat policy between an internal resource through another public ip address on outside interface. but right now i need to let the vpn clients to connect to my internal resources.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm going to list out my problem, to make it faster to understand.1] My domain name is registered with a company, X.2] My webhosting is hosted by another company, Y.3] My web developer, Mr. Z is trying to do his bit and upload my website.Here's what happens:Mr. Z tells me that he's not able to upload my website and is getting the error "Connection timed out" and "Could not connect to server" on his FileZilla or something. He also tells me that there is a problem with my domain registry.Now, Company Y tells me that the domain name's A-records has to be pointed to the correct IP address [which is, of course, the webhosting IP I bought.]Company X tells me to login to my account and add an A-record pointing it to the correct IP address. I did that.But still Mr. Z tells me he's getting the same error and is not able to connect to the domain name.Now, when I ping my website on MS command prompt, I get a "Request timed out" error.

View 4 Replies View RelatedA friend of mine had a 802.11b netgear router and all of her computers were running just fine on it so she says. She bought and installed a 802.11n router and bought usb adapters for all her computers and all work, except one, a Dell Optiplex 330 that runs Windows XP.Some drivers were missing such as her Ethernet Controller and a chipset driver but I was able to install those from the Dell website. She had not yet bought a new USB adapter for the computer, I tried using my D-Link adapter and I can see the network in the D-Link connection manager but in Windows when I go to view a list of wireless networks, it doesn't show any. I cannot connect to the network from the D-Link connection manager.
