Laptop Will No Longer Connect To The Internet?

The other day, I shut down my laptop and when I turned it back on, it would not connect to the internet. It continuously says limited connectivity and unidentified network. my info is listed below
Location: Birmingham, Alabama, United States
ISP: AT&T they also provided the router/modem which is all connected in one.

I have been using the same Toshiba A105 for the past three years at work. Recently I had to reinstall XP and since then have not been able to connect to my works wireless/wired internet most of the time. I have no trouble connecting to my wireless at home or basically anywhere else except work. Once in a rare while it will connect to work but if it's wireless it's low connectivity and if it's wired it's prone to just drop out again randomly. Everyone else at work is able to connect wirelessly/wired without issue. I've tried static IP and changing my MAC addressThere are some unsecured wireless networks in range that I can connect to but don't want to for work transactions.

My laptop all of a sudden can't connect to my wireless internet connection and also seem unable to find any other wireless network but mine.I recently moved to a new flat, but brought my old modem/router with me (Scientific Atlanta 2434) and use the same ISP. Last week everything worked as a charm, but at the new location my laptop won't connect to my network, though I can connect to it through my mobile phone. My laptop only seem to find my own network ("Fidel") but with my mobile I can pick up 10-15 different networks from my flat. Connecting my laptop to the modem with a cable works all good. I tried to remove "Fidel" from my networks and added it again, typing wrong password gives a message saying "wrong network key" so my laptop and the modem seem to shake hands at least. Yesterday when trying I actually got connected, but the connection died after a few minutes and I wasn't able to connect again.Windows device manager display no errors nor conflicts around the ethernet controller or network adapter. Have tried to update the drivers through the device manager as well but it says they are up to date.Windows version is Windows 7 Home Premium.Don't know if my ISP uploaded new firmware to my modem when I connected it in my new flat, but on the other hand I can't see why this would affect my laptop's ability to pick up other networks in my house? One of my laptops (Acer Aspire 5741) won't connect to the internet, it stopped connecting last night at around 9pm UK time. It shows an ! in a triangle over my Internet Access bars. When I troubleshoot the message is 'Your broadband modem is experiencing connectivity issues'. My Compaq mini netbook is not experiencing any problems though. I have tried resetting the router, removing and readding the home network and checking the security key is correct -I do also have a VPN from my university which has been installed since April without any problems. Both the laptop and notebook use windows 7 and Firefox.

I have an Inspiron 1721 laptop and can no longer acces the internet unless I attach the ethernet cable from my wireless modem. In other words, I can no longer access the wireless internet from my laptop. I have talked with my internet service provider and the say the problem is the settings with the laptop itself because I can access the internet from my tablet computer.

i can no longer connect to the internet and i have tried everything i could think of. my "wireless network connection status says 0 packets sent and 0 recieved,but im connected to my router with excellent signal. when i got this laptop it had alot of malware, i removed 283entries with malwarebytes in safemode. after i did that i couldnt connect to the internet.

My compaq presario F750us stopped connecting to the internet both wired and wireless. It no longer recognizes its Artheros Ar 5700 wireless adapter. The ethernet connection is restricted to local access only. The notebook runs Windows Vista Home Premium. I have followed all diagnostic and repair steps as per Vista's instructions. Two other computers remain connected. The router is Linksys Wrt 54 G2 V1.

I upgraded the firmware on my BEFS41 v4.3 to the Ver.2.00.4 Build 8, off the cisco website. After I received the successfully upgraded message, I could no longer connect to the internet, nor could I connect to the router's configuration page. I tried to do a few hard resets and connecting it to other computers to see any other computers could connect to it, no luck. I tried connecting one computer just to the router, without the internet plugged in, and tried to ping 192.168.1.1 but I received a "transmit failed, error code 1231." Is there anyway I can access this and change the firmware, or am I screwed?

A couple weeks ago my HP laptop stopped working. It would not boot and I had to put in the recovery discs to get it working again. Before this the laptop had connected fine to my home wifi secured with WPA2-PSK[AES]. After this problem tho it refuses to connect while it is secured. When not secure it functions fine and I am currently using it to type this post. I would have no problem continuing to use the wifi unsecured but another member of my household works with confidential medical information from home and is worried about the lack of security. I have attempted the trouble shooting tips on the support website already. My computer model is HP G60-235DX and the router is a Netgear N300 model WNR2000v3[CODE]

I have wireless internet at home through a Belkin router.It used to work fine but one computer wouldnt connect. I tried checking the security password on my laptop and ever since it won't connect. (However, now the other computer does!) It picks up the signal from the router but just won't connect. When I run ipconfig I get a message saying Media Disconnected. I've searched forums and can't find an answer to this.The laptop still connects to the wireless internet in my office so the wireless capability obviously still works.

When starting my laptop it no longer connects to the preferred network. It has been trying to connect to my neighbors unsecured network. I have tried the netsh settings but it searches for another network and will not connect to the one it is supposed to unless I force it to.

I replaced a drive and installed an older version of xp (husband request). I can't connect to internet, wireless or wired. I saw a post that solved the problem, I seem to be missing drivers (other devices all have yellow ?). But I do not know where to locate the drivers. The computer is a ibm t43 laptop about 6 years old. I can't find any disks that came with it.

I have a dell inspiron 15 r and it won't connect to the internet. I've tried my university's wireless internet, and my internet at home. Both connections work for other devices, so the problem is not the source. The problem is specifically my laptop. It says that it is connected, but both Chrome and IE show error pages (i.e. Site not found, dns lookup failed, etc.)

I have a netgear router and an win xp desktop connected to each other through the ISP modem. The internet works great. Xbox live connected via through the netgear router(access point), works great. Now i just recently bought a power cord for an old laptop, charged it, working fine. Its a Compaq laptop, with a vista OS. My problem is not finding the router and/or connecting to it. I just cant seem to access the internet. It shows local connection only with an unidentified network, but it shows my routers name(LOTUS). There is alittle red X in-between the unidentified network and the internet. I pulled off the ip config/all on the vista laptop.

Laptop has been connecting to internet for years. Originally using wireless Linksys router but wireless card in laptop stopped working. Have been connecting via Ethernet connection for over a year. All of a sudden, cannot connect to internet via Ethernet connection. Laptop connects fine using wireless mobile card (Verizon) with 75.x.x.x address.Using same Ethernet connection,another laptop connects fine (69.x.x.x address)Network status on "broken" laptop shows "Unidentified Network Access: Local Only Ethernet adapter has 169.x.x.x address when connected to cable modem (Roadrunner) with no default gateway.Tried to release/renew IP but get message "The requested operation requires elevation." I received a new hard drive along with recovery discs from dell yesterday. They told me the new drive would be blank and I would have to run the discs. Not a problem. Installed the OS along with the drivers that had check marks next to them.
Today I plug in my home internet and it won't work. Unplug it and turn the wireless back on and it gets online just fine.

Basically, my brother has to use a laptop other than his PC to do some work on, now whenever that laptop connects, it disconnects my PC. I can reset the internet, get about 10mins before it disconnects again. We have in total, 3 PC's, 3 laptops that use the internet. It's fine whenever that laptop is not on. I have tried the method of giving everything it's own IP incase it's an issue, but no change. Also tried the resetting anything simultanously etc.
