Aug 1, 2012I have an HP Compaq 2510p laptop which I rebuilt with Windows XP at work, and for some reason, any internal wireless card i install doesn't pick up a signal. The driver is installed properly, and device manager shows it as being functioning, but when i go into view available connections, it says none found. I have tried 2 separate cards, with the same issue. Now i did try an external USB wireless card, and that works fine, but nothing internal will.

Feb 25, 2011For other three years, me and my brother have both been connected to our router via ethernet cables. On this Tuesday just gone, however, my brother took it upon himself to mess with the router whilst I was out. Apparently, his internet had been down since we'd had a power-cut on the Sunday, (My internet was fine, and always has been and was fully functional after said power-cut), and before then, it'd been going really slow, and sometimes cutting out. Okay, no problem. Now, the the thing is, that morning, I was on my internet, all happy, and when I returned home that evening, my PC wouldn't connect. My PC still refuses to connect, three days on. It's not even picking up that there's something plugged in.the router is actually flashing to say that my PC is plugged in and connected to the router. I know that there is nothing wrong with the modem or what have you, as I linked my laptop up to my PC via a cable earlier today to try and get it online. It's not a virus program problem, either. Like I said, it was working Tuesday morning, nine hours later, I come home, my brother restarted/unplugged the router, and now my PC won't connect. I should also note that he's now had to go wireless via a dongle, and everyone else in the house uses wireless laptops. I can't connect my PC to the internet with a dongle

Nov 10, 2012I have recently been having trouble with my wireless network. My laptop will pick up other networks but not my network. However my iPod and parent's computer will pick up the network that we use. I have a Fujitsu Lifebook N6470 with Windows Vista installed on it. The network adaptor is an Atheros AR5008X Wireless Network Adaptor.

At first i thought it was just because his mom accidently hit the hotkey to turn off the wifi so i turned it back on and it still will not connect to the internet. Jun 10, 2012I've had my computer for maybe a year now, and I have not had problems with my wireless before. Two nights ago I found that I lost internet, and when I tried to reconnect there were no connections available.
My wireless IS on, and my mother's IPad uses the same router as my laptop does for internet and she gets internet with no problem, so it's not the router. I've tried rebooting the computer, disabling and reinabling the wireless, shutting down the computer for the night and trying in the morning, and none of these things worked.

Aug 27, 2012I've just bought a new Samsung 3 series laptop (Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit). I have two braodband lines at my home (1: Sky with standard Sky wireless router. 2: BT with Netgear wireless router). The Netgear router is primarily used for business but I also use it to connect with my old Dell laptop and my iPad. However I cant seem to connect with my new Samsung laptop to the Netgear router. I want to get rid of the Sky broadband line but neet to get the Netgear line working correctly first.If i turn the Netgear router off and then on again the laptop can see the router and picks up the wireless signal and connects for a few minutes before it drops off and then it can find it again. The laptop does similar with the Sky router except that the connection seems to last longer before it drops off and at least it can always see the Sky wireless signal for me to reconnect again.

Before this the laptop had connected fine to my home wifi secured with WPA2-PSK[AES]. After this problem tho it refuses to connect while it is secured. When not secure it functions fine and I am currently using it to type this post. I would have no problem continuing to use the wifi unsecured but another member of my household works with confidential medical information from home and is worried about the lack of security. Laptop No Longer Able To Connect To Wireless Network
Sep 27, 2012My laptop all of a sudden can't connect to my wireless internet connection and also seem unable to find any other wireless network but mine.I recently moved to a new flat, but brought my old modem/router with me (Scientific Atlanta 2434) and use the same ISP. Last week everything worked as a charm, but at the new location my laptop won't connect to my network, though I can connect to it through my mobile phone. My laptop only seem to find my own network ("Fidel") but with my mobile I can pick up 10-15 different networks from my flat. Connecting my laptop to the modem with a cable works all good. I tried to remove "Fidel" from my networks and added it again, typing wrong password gives a message saying "wrong network key" so my laptop and the modem seem to shake hands at least. Yesterday when trying I actually got connected, but the connection died after a few minutes and I wasn't able to connect again.Windows device manager display no errors nor conflicts around the ethernet controller or network adapter. Have tried to update the drivers through the device manager as well but it says they are up to date.Windows version is Windows 7 Home Premium.Don't know if my ISP uploaded new firmware to my modem when I connected it in my new flat, but on the other hand I can't see why this would affect my laptop's ability to pick up other networks in my house? Recently I had to reinstall XP and since then have not been able to connect to my works wireless/wired internet most of the time. When I troubleshoot the message is 'Your broadband modem is experiencing connectivity issues'. My Compaq mini netbook is not experiencing any problems though. I have tried resetting the router, removing and readding the home network and checking the security key is correct -I do also have a VPN from my university which has been installed since April without any problems. Oct 30, 2012I have a Dell Optiplex running XP wired to a Netgear router. My laptop is a Dell Inspiron 1501 running Windows 7. When I got the new router everything programed easily and I could retrieve files from my desktop and print remotely. Sometimes I would have to "refresh" before the laptop would detect the desktop but now it will not detect the desktop or the printer. I suspect that a Microsoft Update did this but just guessing. I went back and deleted the updates that downloaded around the time that this stopped working. I have tried every thing that I can think of to get it back working but can not get it fixed.

My laptop is picking up the wireless signals just fine so I know it can't be a signal strength issue.My Gateway does detect one very weak network, but not nearly as many as my laptop. Aug 27, 2011My laptop has suddenly stopped connecting wirelessly. Just fine with ethernet though. My Wireless adapter is enabled and showing fine in Device Manager and has the latest driver. Wireless Zero Configuration is enabled in services. I tried simply disabling and then re-enabling the wireless adapter but still no luck. I tried selecting the repair option for the wireless adapter and I get the exclamation in yellow triangle deal. I checked to see if I was having issues with firewall and that's not it either. When I click "View Available Wireless Networks" the dozen or so networks that use to appear are gone. I power cycled and reset my modem with no luck. I've also did an ipconfig /release and ipconfig /renew in CMD but nothing changed. I have not changed any wireless settings for my NIC or modem/router and don't understand what else I can do.

Jan 22, 2011My internet connect sometimes and other time is won't do nothing at all it picking up the network just won't pull up anything. I just flush my dns and still no luck.
