HP Compaq 2510p Wireless Card Not Picking Up Signals
Aug 1, 2012I have an HP Compaq 2510p laptop which I rebuilt with Windows XP at work, and for some reason, any internal wireless card i install doesn't pick up a signal. The driver is installed properly, and device manager shows it as being functioning, but when i go into view available connections, it says none found. I have tried 2 separate cards, with the same issue. Now i did try an external USB wireless card, and that works fine, but nothing internal will.

May 20, 2012I just bought a Gateway dx4860-Ub33P.I took it to geek squad and had them upgrade the video card to Nvidia geforce GTX 560 as well as upgrading the power supply.When I set up the computer at my home office, the wireless adapter is not picking up the signals. My laptop is picking up the wireless signals just fine so I know it can't be a signal strength issue.My Gateway does detect one very weak network, but not nearly as many as my laptop. I also have Norton Antivirus installed if that is at all useful.

Aug 27, 2011My laptop has suddenly stopped connecting wirelessly. Just fine with ethernet though. My Wireless adapter is enabled and showing fine in Device Manager and has the latest driver. Wireless Zero Configuration is enabled in services. I tried simply disabling and then re-enabling the wireless adapter but still no luck. I tried selecting the repair option for the wireless adapter and I get the exclamation in yellow triangle deal. I checked to see if I was having issues with firewall and that's not it either. When I click "View Available Wireless Networks" the dozen or so networks that use to appear are gone. I power cycled and reset my modem with no luck. I've also did an ipconfig /release and ipconfig /renew in CMD but nothing changed. I have not changed any wireless settings for my NIC or modem/router and don't understand what else I can do.

Samsung Laptop Not Picking Up Wireless Signal
Sep 13, 2012Only I have encountered this problem with my Philips 6356 router. I have spent 2.5 hours on the phone to Samsung and to the tech support from the store I bought it from and no one seems to be able to give me a definitive resolution! I can only assume the router is not compatible with the wifi connector in the laptop.

Oct 19, 2012I took this wifi adapter from a pc that isn't being used, and decided to plug it into one that is. While it was in the other pc, it worked, now that it's in this pc it doesn't detect ANY wifi networks. I decided to plug it into a laptop and it worked the minute the drivers were installed.The problems are as follows:
* When plugged into the pc, the adapter's utility app just says "Checking status" and no info being displayed thereafter.
* Windows says the device is working, but it does not come up in the Internet Access popup window in the task bar.
* No info comes up in Xirrus except for the name of the adapter.
I installed both the drivers that came with the adapter, and the latest drivers from windows update. Neither worked.It is a Billion BiPAC 3011N adapter.

Aug 27, 2012I've just bought a new Samsung 3 series laptop (Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit). I have two braodband lines at my home (1: Sky with standard Sky wireless router. 2: BT with Netgear wireless router). The Netgear router is primarily used for business but I also use it to connect with my old Dell laptop and my iPad. However I cant seem to connect with my new Samsung laptop to the Netgear router. I want to get rid of the Sky broadband line but neet to get the Netgear line working correctly first.If i turn the Netgear router off and then on again the laptop can see the router and picks up the wireless signal and connects for a few minutes before it drops off and then it can find it again. The laptop does similar with the Sky router except that the connection seems to last longer before it drops off and at least it can always see the Sky wireless signal for me to reconnect again.

Wireless Shows Red Light On And No Signals
Feb 20, 2011We have a fairly new Asus laptop and for some reason we can't get the wireless to turn on any more.It has a Function button method to turn it on and off and any time you use this button it shows the WLAN simple with a red line through it. No matter how many times you press it it does the same thing.I've tried uninstalling the drivers and reinstalling, ran a security update for the drivers. When I go into the wireless connection and try and turn it on it shows that it has a signal (not sure what to) but a red X next to the connection in windows 7. I can't actually see any wireless signals so I'm kind of at a loss.

Sep 13, 2011For quite some time now my parents' wireless internet cannot seem to keep a wireless signal anywhere in the house unless you are sitting next to the router. I've been doing everything I know to try and keep the signal strong enough to use it down the hall in the living room.
I've tried using different frequencies and channels however this only seems to work for an hour then the network will fall off the network list entirely and then a few minutes later will pop back in. What is causing this signal to die out completely every few minutes? They've tried countless numbers of wireless routers in hopes it would fix the problem however this never seems to work. Is this an issue with the ISP and/or the modem they provide us? Wired connections work fine, just wireless connections refuse to either stay up or constantly disconnect the user from the network.

Oct 6, 2012For my network the way it is setup is one building has the 2 main servers.simple wireless router and a few laptop that connect to it. a Wii and some other devices, all of them share media etc with no issue. Internet is not a problem either.One of the servers has a PCI wireless card and connects to another network.(network2)network 2 is able to share and play all the media off the service lets say 80% of the time.It also has a different internet provider and internet connection is not a problem but the wireless signal strength is low , (2 bars) or -55 to -82 it seams to jump around at.If you try to stream or play too much media it freezes on you. or if 2 devices on network 2 try to play something it freezes as well sometimes though when the signal is good -55 ish there is no issues.There is alot of wireless traffic in the area, i cant change that.and dont really want to buy a ranger extender or something $20 is what I have for parts if anything. If I were to put a 2nd wireless card in server 2 or Server 1 even. Also both the wireless router on network 2 and the pci card on server 2 are physically as close as hey can get.
