I just bought a Gateway dx4860-Ub33P.I took it to geek squad and had them upgrade the video card to Nvidia geforce GTX 560 as well as upgrading the power supply. When I set up the computer at my home office, the wireless adapter is not picking up the signals. My laptop is picking up the wireless signals just fine so I know it can't be a signal strength issue. My Gateway does detect one very weak network, but not nearly as many as my laptop. I also have Norton Antivirus installed if that is at all useful.
Only I have encountered this problem with my Philips 6356 router. I have spent 2.5 hours on the phone to Samsung and to the tech support from the store I bought it from and no one seems to be able to give me a definitive resolution! I can only assume the router is not compatible with the wifi connector in the laptop.
My wifes Toshiba laptop (vista) suddenly stopped picking up the wireless signal on our router. I have checked and updated the atheros driver and it now says there are no problems and everything is working correctly. But still there is no signal being received.
Ok, so I've got a Billion BiPac 3011N Wireless-N usb adapter for my PC. I've used it before about a year ago and it was working fine then. But after not using it for a year, I plugged it into my PC, installed the updated drivers, and nothing happened. The Realtek 11n USB wireless lan utility program (came with the driver) does not seem to find the wireless network, something that my laptop picks up easily. I have even tried moving my PC closer to the router, but it still picks up nothing. The utility programme just says 'disconnected'
I took this wifi adapter from a pc that isn't being used, and decided to plug it into one that is. While it was in the other pc, it worked, now that it's in this pc it doesn't detect ANY wifi networks. I decided to plug it into a laptop and it worked the minute the drivers were installed. The problems are as follows:
* When plugged into the pc, the adapter's utility app just says "Checking status" and no info being displayed thereafter. * Windows says the device is working, but it does not come up in the Internet Access popup window in the task bar. * No info comes up in Xirrus except for the name of the adapter.
I installed both the drivers that came with the adapter, and the latest drivers from windows update. Neither worked. It is a Billion BiPAC 3011N adapter.
I've just bought a new Samsung 3 series laptop (Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit). I have two braodband lines at my home (1: Sky with standard Sky wireless router. 2: BT with Netgear wireless router). The Netgear router is primarily used for business but I also use it to connect with my old Dell laptop and my iPad. However I cant seem to connect with my new Samsung laptop to the Netgear router. I want to get rid of the Sky broadband line but neet to get the Netgear line working correctly first. If i turn the Netgear router off and then on again the laptop can see the router and picks up the wireless signal and connects for a few minutes before it drops off and then it can find it again. The laptop does similar with the Sky router except that the connection seems to last longer before it drops off and at least it can always see the Sky wireless signal for me to reconnect again.
For some reason the laptop my friend brought over is not connecting to the internet and has had a problem connecting to the internet for awhile apparently. At first i thought it was just because his mom accidently hit the hotkey to turn off the wifi so i turned it back on and it still will not connect to the internet. The Mac and the PC i am using to write in this forum work just fine as well as the xbox.
Is something from computer inspiron 530's vista intel pentuim dual core blocking my signal from my wirless usb adapter netgear n300 wna 3100 from going on line? seems to work on other computers in the house that isnt dell..
My cable went out and my neighbor and I have decided to split her at$t broadband, the phone/modem/router is a 2wire.
I have 3 windows 7 computers but only one wireless g usb wireless adapter from tenda. I also have a linksys wrt54g wireless router that I can use.
I have tried to set up the router as a wireless bridge by loading a DD-WRT bin on my linksys but it seemed way buggy -results - I was only able to get 2 of 3 online and if I restarted any of them I lost the connection completely.
Went back to stock firmware and tried to set up a lan between the 3 towers with the linksys then just bridge the two connections on the main pc - results -no internet at all on 2nd and 3rd pc... and when the connection to the wifi network is started I loose my networking to the 2 pc's on the linksys.
Im not sure if im not setting these up correctly as im just following guides and such but since im fairly good with computers this is making me crazy...to be able to set three computers up on 1 good clear wifi should be an easy task but it's just not working out..
I have a D-Link DIR-655 version B1 Just installed firmware 2.03 Use a cable modem (Comcast) Motorola SURFboard model SB6120 Am trying to use Netgear 85Mbps Wall-Plugged Ethernet Adapter XET1001 to carry signal from the room where the cable modem is to another part of the house where I hope to connect the D-Link.
my d-link modem is connected and was providing great wireless service to numerous devices around the house until yesterday. The wireless lights are on and stable, but we can't connect. We've tried resetting and turning off to no avail. This computer is connected via an ethernet cable through the modem
My laptop has suddenly stopped connecting wirelessly. Just fine with ethernet though. My Wireless adapter is enabled and showing fine in Device Manager and has the latest driver. Wireless Zero Configuration is enabled in services. I tried simply disabling and then re-enabling the wireless adapter but still no luck. I tried selecting the repair option for the wireless adapter and I get the exclamation in yellow triangle deal. I checked to see if I was having issues with firewall and that's not it either. When I click "View Available Wireless Networks" the dozen or so networks that use to appear are gone. I power cycled and reset my modem with no luck. I've also did an ipconfig /release and ipconfig /renew in CMD but nothing changed. I have not changed any wireless settings for my NIC or modem/router and don't understand what else I can do.

I have a belkin n300 wireless router that i know works because the ps3 connects to it but when i tried to add my desktop to the wireless router i used the installation cd to download onto the computer (which i was then told by belkin tech support that the cd was only for extra stuff like printers..) when i installed the cd it said not reccommended to install because it wasnt windows xp authorized but i did this any ways.. i have also been looking online for diferent things to do to try and get my computer to connect to the router so i have changed things on the computer that i have no idea how to backtrack and take it all back..i tried rrstoring my system to an earlier date and it wont do it. now my computer wont even pick up on a wireless connection.. i then tried to connect directly to the modem (comcast box) and i still couldnt get on internet!
I have a Linksys wrt54g wireless router.I have my modem connected to it through ethernet. All of the lights on my modem are on, except for the standby light which isn't supposed to be on. My router says it has internet and it says wlan is active. But still no internet. I get local only. I went on my setup page for my router. I went to status and its telling me that my ip address, subnet mask, and default gateway are all 0.0.0.0 All 3 dns spots are blank. I did a dhcp release and renew. Still all 0's. I did factory defaults. Still nothing. I did ipconfig /all on my desktop and its listing my dns, my default gateway, my dhcp server, my ipv4 address and my dns suffix.
I have an HP Compaq 2510p laptop which I rebuilt with Windows XP at work, and for some reason, any internal wireless card i install doesn't pick up a signal. The driver is installed properly, and device manager shows it as being functioning, but when i go into view available connections, it says none found. I have tried 2 separate cards, with the same issue. Now i did try an external USB wireless card, and that works fine, but nothing internal will.
I have recently been having trouble with my wireless network. My laptop will pick up other networks but not my network. However my iPod and parent's computer will pick up the network that we use. I have a Fujitsu Lifebook N6470 with Windows Vista installed on it. The network adaptor is an Atheros AR5008X Wireless Network Adaptor.
My internet connect sometimes and other time is won't do nothing at all it picking up the network just won't pull up anything. I just flush my dns and still no luck.
For other three years, me and my brother have both been connected to our router via ethernet cables. On this Tuesday just gone, however, my brother took it upon himself to mess with the router whilst I was out. Apparently, his internet had been down since we'd had a power-cut on the Sunday, (My internet was fine, and always has been and was fully functional after said power-cut), and before then, it'd been going really slow, and sometimes cutting out. Okay, no problem. Now, the the thing is, that morning, I was on my internet, all happy, and when I returned home that evening, my PC wouldn't connect. My PC still refuses to connect, three days on. It's not even picking up that there's something plugged in.the router is actually flashing to say that my PC is plugged in and connected to the router. I know that there is nothing wrong with the modem or what have you, as I linked my laptop up to my PC via a cable earlier today to try and get it online. It's not a virus program problem, either. Like I said, it was working Tuesday morning, nine hours later, I come home, my brother restarted/unplugged the router, and now my PC won't connect. I should also note that he's now had to go wireless via a dongle, and everyone else in the house uses wireless laptops. I can't connect my PC to the internet with a dongle

I have tried restarting laptop and making the connection but get message saying No connections available. I have another laptop using the same NETGEAR DG834GT wireless router perfectly well.

I have just reformatted my windows 7 ultimate. I have installed the Ethernet driver that came in the motherboard utilities CD. But the problem is computer is not picking up my network and its just saying unidentified public network and i cannot connect to the internet. The modem i use is Netgear cable voice gateway CVG824G. The connection is cable internet.
I have tried to put a password on my dlink-615 wireless router, however, this attempt failed and as a result it is no longer picking up the next work signals from my modem.
I have talked to two Cisco Reps via our distributor and explained our network to them both and asked for suggested equipment. Our infrastructure has 4 circuits coming into the data center from our remote sites. Two of the circuits are cat5 and two are DS3. I want to use two routers to support two circuits each (cat5 and DS3). Each circuit is around 30Mb servicing around 13 locations with T1 connections, 55 locations in total. They suggested at a minimum the cisco 2951 model because we are utilizing one NM-1T3/E3 module in each router, and suggested getting the cisco 3925 model to cover future growth. I asked for a data sheet that has suggested models of routers for the bandwidth of the incoming pipes. The technicians said they would email this information over but twice now I have not received it and cannot find this information anywhere online. We currently have a cisco 2851 utilizing one NM-1T3/E3 module and they purchased a cisco 2911 to replace this unit.
I recently bought 2 SRP527W for customer and i am trying to install them. I have updated the firmware to the latest version. Problem: It can detect BTs business ADSL but the Logical Link is not picking up. I have checked and rechecked the setting with BT but no joy. the original BT router works.
I've been looking at picking up a 16-24 port gigabit switch that supports trunking, vlans etc. for home use.
I've looked at the Cisco SG2/300's, HP 1810g-24 and the Dell 2816 and 2824 switches, and it seems like the Cisco's are the best buy (layer 3'ish features, same price as the HP) but there isn't much about them.
I want to monitor our backup server (commvault) as it is saying it's library (Data Domain) is going off line.[code] The issue is I am seeing a lot of unicast traffic (on Wireshark) that has nothing to do with the server on E2/11. Some of it is from different VLANs... There is way too much data (multi-Mbps) to keep wireshark running very long to capture our intermitten problem.
