Aug 1, 2012I have an HP Compaq 2510p laptop which I rebuilt with Windows XP at work, and for some reason, any internal wireless card i install doesn't pick up a signal. The driver is installed properly, and device manager shows it as being functioning, but when i go into view available connections, it says none found. I have tried 2 separate cards, with the same issue. Now i did try an external USB wireless card, and that works fine, but nothing internal will.

Jul 4, 2012I am having no end of issues with this router since the upgrade to CCC. I don't want to downgrade because the reason I purchased the router was for the hopeful addition of more apps later on and the CCC.
My router has now suddenly decided to no longer broadcast N signals. My 2.4ghz network is set for mixed and my 5ghz is set for N Only. They are both set to auto channel and WPA2 Personal security and have been working since I purchased the router on Sunday.
Last night it spontaneously rebooted and that was that.
Both laptops (with N adapters) are seeing the 2.4ghz network as 802.11g and my 300Mbps notebook adapter is seeing the 5ghz network as 802.11a. InSSIDer is showing that both networks are now broadcasting at a max of 54Mbps.
I have tried rebooting the router multiple times. I have also tried unplugging it for 60 seconds. I have also attempted to force the 2.4ghz to 20Mhz and a more optimal (unused) channel. That doesn't work. I tried setting the 5ghz network to wide (40mhz) with an optimal channel. Same deal. Still seeing it as 802.11a.

Problem: It can detect BTs business ADSL but the Logical Link is not picking up. I have checked and rechecked the setting with BT but no joy. the original BT router works.

I have 2 wireless cards I have tried neither will pick up any wireless signals.
One is a Linksys wireless-G pci adapter Model wmp54g the other is a broadcom netlink gigabit adapter also wireless.
I have tried the newest drivers by downloading them but still no luck.

What I'm trying to do: I currently have a Linksys E1000..I have two computers that access this point via built in adapters in the computers. In another room are my gaming consoles and television that I would like to hook up to the internet as well. Is there a wireless adapter that will pick up my Linksys E1000 signal and let me plug ethernet cords into it so my consoles and television can access the network?

I purchased this TD-W8960N cause I thought it was a powerful beast, but it is not unless mine it is defective. On my mobile phone it shows -25 to -30 dBm at less than 10 inches away from the router antennas. In some places at home my phone disconnects when the signal drops below -70bm, however my laptop it is always connected because of the better antenna.
That's fine BUT, I installed my old Linksys WRT54G and the phone shows -3dB at the same distance from the antennas. Or is it that I overvalued the TP-LINK?Does anyone have compared signals with other routers. Should I assume that mi router is defective? Any trick to squeeze more power other than replacing antennas?

Feb 29, 2012I recently bought the above product, the ASUS USB N13 network adapter, and last night when i tried connecting to my wireless router, it worked, but I found that I could only get a maximum on 35% signal, where as my Acer laptop from 2005, receives upto a 100% signal. For a product thats rated at 150m range, distance should not be a problem, I have screen shot if required of the signal strength.

Jul 25, 2011I have talked to two Cisco Reps via our distributor and explained our network to them both and asked for suggested equipment. Our infrastructure has 4 circuits coming into the data center from our remote sites. Two of the circuits are cat5 and two are DS3. I want to use two routers to support two circuits each (cat5 and DS3). Each circuit is around 30Mb servicing around 13 locations with T1 connections, 55 locations in total. They suggested at a minimum the cisco 2951 model because we are utilizing one NM-1T3/E3 module in each router, and suggested getting the cisco 3925 model to cover future growth. I asked for a data sheet that has suggested models of routers for the bandwidth of the incoming pipes. The technicians said they would email this information over but twice now I have not received it and cannot find this information anywhere online. We currently have a cisco 2851 utilizing one NM-1T3/E3 module and they purchased a cisco 2911 to replace this unit.

I went to status and its telling me that my ip address, subnet mask, and default gateway are all 0.0.0.0 All 3 dns spots are blank. I did a dhcp release and renew. Still all 0's. I did factory defaults. Still nothing. I did ipconfig /all on my desktop and its listing my dns, my default gateway, my dhcp server, my ipv4 address and my dns suffix.

Signals Are Not Strong Enough To Reach The Router?
Mar 27, 2011I have two desktop computers upstairs.The main pc has the Linksys G Router and the other pc is wireless with a network adapter. All works fine here.Downstairs and on the other side of the house, I use my laptop which is wireless to the network. I also have a 46" hidef tv hooked up to a blu ray player and also connected to the network with a wireless adapter. I use Netflix to stream movies and seem to be having a problem with the signal in this room, both on the tv and my laptop. I sometimes only have 2 bars on my laptop and frequently get disconnected to the internet. When I am streaming movies or tv series, I get frequent stops and starts.
I am guessing that the signal is just not strong enough to reach this far from the router. Would switching to an N router be better for streaming? Would another G router downstairs solve my problem?
