Cisco Wireless :: WAP4410N Access Point

Sep 29, 2011

I recently purchased a WAP4410N and I have some problems getting it to work. I am on a 192.168.1 network so everything should be ready to go. I am unable to ping the default address 192.168.1.245 for the wireless. During the process of resetting the device I am able to ping it for a few seconds. I am able to see the wireless connection but I am unable to access it even though it is unsecured. All lights are on the device except the PoE light.

Cisco Wireless :: Wap4410n - Access Point Rejects The Username And Password

Jun 25, 2010

Recently I have purchased two brand new wap4410n access points.

I have connected my computer directly to one of the access points, and attempted to connect to the Web Configuration utility through my web browser.

I'm using a: 09' MacBook Pro, running Snow Leopard and Safari 5.

I can access the login screen of the access point, although when I enter the default username: admin and password admin, the login screen returns an error: Invalid username and/or password (or something to that effect). The URL changes to: http://192.168.1.245/login.htm&no=3.

I have reset the device by holding in the reset button for thirty seconds, powered down, powered up and re-attempted to login.

I still get the same error as above.

I have attempted to access the Web Configuration utility on both access points, and both access points provide the same error. I have also tried using the username: cisco and password: cisco.

Cisco, when contacted, said both access points must be faulty and I should replace them.

The probability of such an occurrence happening with two devices seems very low, and leads me to think there must be other factors at play. The only constant I can think of is the fact I'm using the same computer to access the devices.

Linksys Access Point :: WAP4410N Can't Set It Up

Jul 1, 2012

I need to set up some security cameras here, and the boss has a never used Cisco WAP4410N router. I gotta use my own personal laptop, it's a small netbook, Aspire One DN55E using Windows 7 and Firefox. The network switch is by ZHONE.The wireless accesspoint has green lights on power and wireless, but not on Ethernet or PoE. The switch has power as green, the status blinks green, and co mode is red, everything else is not on. The router is plugged into the first lan plug, I can't plug it in ethernet, as my plugs don't fit. My laptop is connected to the stitch in the secon hole, and the third hole on te switch is connected to the internet. My laptop is receiving wired internet, and it's working well. It's via comcast cable. Now, where it say's 'Configuring the wap4410N Access Point in the book that came with the router, under 'Launching the Web-Based COnfiguration Utility' I seem to from above already accomplished step 1, which is 'Connect your computer to the same network the WAP4410N Access Point is connected to.

Yet, in the next step, it says to configure to the same subnet access point.Now..... I've followed all sorts of things requiring me to do stuff with TCP-i4 and 6 in odd little places in my computer, I've typed in on my wireless network password the default access point in the book as well as the default mask, nothing. I went to firefox, and typed it in my browser, nothing- says each time it's taking too long.I can't configure it, the next step says launch firefox, and I can't pull this off, as firefox never finds that default address. This is too hard for something so simple. It shoud be plug in, software pops up on my computer, a quick wizard, and I'm done. It's been a few days, and I am sweating and hot and am thinking about reenacting scenes from terminator 2 at the cisco headquarters.

Linksys Access Point :: WRT160N And WAP4410N Repeater

Sep 15, 2010

The destinaton were unreachable with only WRT120N.it's look like this (what i want for the network on my home) : [code] i already tried to setting the WAP4410 as a wireless WDS repeater, and wireless client/repeater (with and without "Allow wireless stations to associate"). both were unable to connect (limited), although i get the signal. for the IP on the WAP4410N (192.168.0.50), i used static IP [IP, Subnet and Default Gateway were fill in] within the WRT120N range (192.168.0.2 ->192.168.0.51)

- how i configure my WAP4410N as a repeater?

- is there any settings that i must set on the WRT120N, before combining the WAP4410N?

Linksys Access Point :: WRT54G - Unable To Find Access Point In Home Network

Aug 29, 2009

I just bought an LG Bluray DVD player (BD390) which is unable to find the access point in my home network. My router is a WRT54G, ver. 2.2, running firmware: Ver.4.21.1.  My home network uses high speed cable with two computers on the wireless network, all working with no problems. The router is on the second floor but the two computers and the new BD390 are on the first floor - about 35 feet away. I have the wirelss security set to none and use only the specific computer MAC addresses to allow connection to this network.

I found directions in the forum for a setup using the LG BD390  but with a different Linksys router. I changed the security to WPA (AES); the Beacon interval from 100 to 75; the Fragmentation Threshold from 2346 to 2304; and the RTS Threshold  from 2347 to 2307. The DVD wireless connection still failed to find my network. There is a "Push button" connection feature on the BD390 setup which I tried, but the only "button" on the router I could find was in the basic wireless setting, a green icon for the wireless SSID setup. No connection was made there either.

The recommendation connection from the LG manual is for a network cable, but that would be over 50 feet and a real pain to connect, so I would prefer WiFi.

Cisco Wireless :: 802.11 WAP4410N To WAP4410N Backhaul Using N Protocol?

Apr 30, 2011

I have the following equipment:

Cisco 871W router
2x WAP 4410N APs running 2.0.3.3

I currently have 1 AP connected to the router via copper.  The AP to AP link is over 802.11.  I have attached a diagram reflecting the current topology.

The AP-to-AP link will come up utilizing B/G/N mixed mode; however, the connection is basically unusable.  About 30% of the traffic is dropped, while the packets that do make it have a consistently volatile latency, anywhere from 15 to 1500 ms. I have had success using G-only and B/G mixed.  The link is stable (I have had the best results with B/G).  The problem is, I didn't buy the 2nd 4410N to run the G protocol.  I would like to connect the APs running either B/G/N (hopefully negotiating to N) or N only.  I am wondering if there is a certain configuration I can utilize (perhaps using WDS repeater or bridge versus Wireless Client/Repeater?), or a firmware upgrade set for release that can make this happen for me.

Cisco Wireless :: WAP4410N Access Points Set Up

Apr 9, 2013

I've had some long standing issues that I've tried various things to fix.  I have two WAP4410N access points set up at a smaller sister company.  Wireless clients (laptops) are not receiving DHCP assigned IP addresses.  If I type in an IP manually, it works fine. The sister company has a point to point T-1 connection to our main building.  Our main building has the DHCP server.  The router on the sister company end is configured as the DHCP relay.

I've upgraded the firmware three different times in the past to hopefully resolve the issue, but no luck.  Just today, on one of the WAP4410N's, I upgraded to the 2.0.6.1 firmware (backing up config, reset to factory default, upgraded firmware, reset factory default again, restored config).  After the first reset to factory defaults, the Access Point itself picked up a DHCP address from the server, and I verified this in the DHCP console on the server, so I know that the DHCP relay is working.  However, my laptop would not get a DHCP address when connecting wirelessly through that access point.  It is a Windows 7 Enterprise laptop.  I also could not get a DHCP IP with my iPhone connecting to wireless, to rule out specific issues with just a laptop.I have the DHCP lease times for the subnet that these WAP4410Ns are on set to 2 hours.

To put a cherry on top, there is one laptop that stays in a lab area at all times, connecting wirelessly, and it DOES get a DHCP IP address (I can see in the DHCP console that the lease for this laptop continually renews as needed).  I do remember on initial config when I couldn't get it to work, that I did a manual set up, gained connection, then switched it to DHCP...but that doesn't work for any other laptop. Why would the access points get DHCP address, but not anything connecting to the Access Points?

Cisco Wireless :: Can't Access WAP4410N Management Page

Nov 8, 2010

I just managed to get hold of an old second hand WAP4410N from a friend who got it for work but never really had the time to get it working. I powered it up and performed a 30/30/30 reset to get rid of anything he may have done to it but now I'm struggling to get to the management page. The power light is steady and the ethernet light shows activity but I can't seem to find it on any IPs. I've tried both hooking it into a router and setting up a laptop with an IP of 192.168.1.2,  subnet mask of 255.255.255.0 and gateway of 192.168.1.245 and I still have no luck. I'll fiddle with it more tomorrow but it'll probably just involve messing around with more settings and resetting it again, nothing of any real structure. Is there any way of forcing a new firmware onto it over the MAC address or something, for example?

Linksys Access Point :: WAP54G Access Point Unable To Connect To More Than One PC?

Apr 25, 2011

I've got a AP WAP54G. I've managed to get into the configuration page and rename my router and set a WPA2-Personl password.

The issue I'm facing is that when me and my roomate try to connect to the router at the same time, it shows the laptop that connects second as one that has 'limited connectivity' and hence cannot use the internet. The 1st laptop however works fine!
The settings for the router have all been left to default.

I'm not sure, but does this problem have anything to do with the fact that the router in configured with a static IP. If so, then there is another issure which is that whenever I try to change it from static to automatic/dynamic IP, the page fails and the router doesn't even get connected to the configuraion page(192.168.1.245) after that. The only way to get that page again is the reset the router.

Also I'm not able to directly get into the config page when I connect my router to my laptop via lan. I need to change the LAN IP to 192.168.1.x where x is >1.

Cisco Wireless :: WAP4410N Multiple Access Points / One Authentication

Right now I have us setup on a Cisco WAP4410N Access Point that works well when he's within range of the antenna. The point B location is upstairs and while it's only about 50-70 feet away from the Point A access point the signal he's getting there is very weak so he wants me to install another AP there.

IOW he wants to authenticate once at point A and when he walks up to point B he wants the laptop to pickup the newer hotter signal when I put another AP point in.
