View 1 Replies View RelatedI am looking for a Best Practices or a few places to pay attention to in the Cisco ESW-520-48P switch I have. My VoIP solution is RingCentral, and while they are Cisco phones, I've been hestitant to setup VLANs etc. the way I am used to. Plus setting up Auto QoS seems different than what I am used to with a 3750 switch.
Right now I've left the Smartports Wizard alone, and none of the ports are configured. There are no VLANs or QoS on the LAN currently.
What I was running into were calls cutting out where one side wouldn't hear the other anymore, but the call would remain connected. However, this has happened in this small 15 person office, when there is only one employee here after hours, talking on the phone. There isn't any heavy network traffic, because I have network monitoring showing me low usage (no streaming music, videos, or anything else).
This switch has a Gb connection to a Linksys SR2024 (the server switch), which is also set at Factory Defaults. I mention that because I recently bypassed the ESW-520-48P, and plugged one phone into that switch and the RingCentral phone worked fine for outside calls.
Is there something besides QoS that I should look at in the ESW-520 switch that might be causing a checkpoint of some sort, or interrupting VoIP traffic that I need to configure or disable?
And are there any Best Practices or scenario guides for this switch? I found the Admin Guide, but it really just explains every option in the GUI for the switch. And it seems all of my CCNA training isn't working with going in and quickly troubleshooting this switch besides knowing that something in it could be hanging it up.
I bought 2 RV180 to setup a VPN tunnel between a remote site and central office.The VPN tunnel is established, I can ping from central office to remote site but browsing on that server fails. [code]

I recently upgraded the firmware to 2.0.2.01-tm (from 2.0.0.19-tm). Now I noticed the RV082's local DNS server ("DNS Local Database" feature) does not work any more. Any URL-IPaddr combo I used to put in there was resolved prior to sending a request to the WAN's primary/secondary DNS server. It isn't a PC problem. I tested on different real and virtual machines, windows and Linux. Is there new "enable" switch somwhere?

I've attached to the switch via the console port and even tried with the web interface but get the same results. Upon booting the switch asks for the default user ID and password, then it prompts to change the password. I do this and then go to configure the device with the new IP address, add a new user ID and password and VLAN. All changes seem to save as I get no errors. However, when the device is rebooted, all changes are lost. I've even went so far as to delete the startup-config file but still no luck. Version information is as follows:

I managed to get the site to site VPN up Via internet and from my network 192.168.1.x able to reach 192.168.2.x. -where 192.168.1.100 (user try to acces my FTP server 192.168.2.99) has no issues but it's slow due to my internet connection speed.
So i setup another link via wireless( wireless bridge ) purpose is to resolve slow connection via internet.

I'd like to enable client to router VPN connections. I have a question how to make any sucessful VPN connection to RV220W. From all the tests I made only SSL VPN on Windows XP x86 client machine was working.
For IPSec VPN I always receive this message: [rv220w][IKE] ERROR: Could not find configuration for XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX[500]. I tried with windows and shrewsoft vpn client.
Can't make SSL VPN to work in Windows 7 x64 client because the drivers are not digitally signed. It only works in Windows XP x86 but this is not acceptable. I need universal solution for win clients.

however, my central authentication does not work. I get to the guest portal, i get authenticated through the guest portal, but then the "second" MAB authenticatino doesn't happen. In the last screencapture of the document, you get a green "Dynamic Authorization" line (third line from below). On my system this is a red line with the error message "11213 No response received from Network Access Device". (i have a successfull guest authentication in my ise logs, but it seems ise is unable to bounce or initiate the second MAB.
I have a curious issue on a customer site where the above components are installed.The issue being that the iPhones the users utilise cannot connect to the mail server via WiFi, they are forced to connect with their 3G connection. The core issue seems to be the 887VA, as when I've installed 'lesser' branded ADSL routers, the connection seems to be fine.The iPhones are set to access the mail server via the URL: mail.customer.com. Should I change this to the internal IP of the server 192.168.12.200, the mail connection works fine. However I cannot expect the client to make this change every time they arrive or leave the office. Presently I have them disable WiFi when on premises.

I'll be using it for data in the customer data center; in remote sites customer has 2811 with VWIC-2MFT-E1T1, so I assume it's using a framed E1 (g704-->1984Mbps). Can I use PA-MC-8TE1+ in the central site? How will the configuration look like in the central site?
I have seen this PA is the only one available for 7204 VXR, so I assume it supports all the E1 configurations, am I right?

I will be implementing a new firewall (cisco asa 5515x) on my existing 3750x (server switches) and my 2960s (user switches). What should I need to apply on my firewall and swtiches to make the implementation successfull. I will put my 3750x as my DMZ and my 2960s as my inside. I want to setup an home network with a wireless router and use multiple switches for wired connections through out my home. I currently have an Airport extreme hooked up to a cable modem and a leviton gateway hooked up to the Airport.
