I want to setup a proxy server and also to create a group policy on proxy that will take effect on two ou's of staff and executives (150 plus pcs) on the executives ou I want the gpo to be only be effective when dey re in the office and non effective when they are outside the office and which to use their own personal internet modem.
View 1 RepliesI access the internet from my company�s LAN, which has a restrictive firewall, so I cannot request the admin to open any ports manually for me. Hence I use a software called your-freedom. This proxy software supports both http as well as socks 4 and 5 proxy (by entering the proxy IP 127.0.0.1 (localhost) and Port 8080 for http proxy OR 1080 for Socks Proxy), and I have successfully been using web browsers and some other softwares that support proxy/ allow proxy info to be entered to login/ connect to the internet. Your-Freedom also supports port forwarding.However, the softwares I intend to use do not have any options to enter proxy methods or proxy ports (as far as I have noticed). I have tried to proxify these 2 softwares using softwares such as SocksCap and Free Cap, but either they don�t work, or my settings in proxifying are not correct. I believe I will have to do port forwarding or proxify the softwares, but have been unable to do so in the correct manner.
Following is the info on the 2 softwares:
1.NOW Trading terminal:[FONT=Times New Roman]Normally when I start the NOW or Zerodha software, the software starts and I get a login screen, but under firewall conditions, I get the initial Splash screen but then the software stops with the error: [b][u]NOW Initialisation failed for Interactive Engine << os error>>.
2.PowerIndia Bulls:The software is written in Java and starts with a batch file (PowerIndiabulls.bat) located in C:UsersDEFAULT_USERNAMEAppD..... I converted this batch file to .exe (with battoexe software) and then ran it through a proxifying software. The .exe start properly without proxifying software but not under proxifying environment. Basically the software needs to connect to the internet using Port 443. I am also expected to keep ports 443, 41599 and 59598 open. software's requirement is available at Indiabulls Securities: Indiabulls Securities is a leading capital market company offering securities broking and advisory services, depository services, equity research services to its clients in India. (item no. 5).To confirm, while the software is unable to connect through port 443, you will get an error message: "Connection to Login Server could not be established" when you try to login with any random Username and Password.To know that the software is able to connect properly, you will get an error: "This User ID is not enabled to be used with this product".
My son is constantly on social networking sites whilst he ought to be revising for his exams. I have tried blocking his websites from the router but this blocks everyones access to the sites. How can I prevent just him from accessing these sites through the router without interfering with my elder kids acess to the sites? Also i would like to know how to block all proxy servers as he is always using these to bypass my restrictions.

I am not able to access internet on more than one computers simultaneously because router allows only single IP and I am not sure what are the WAN IP's uses Access Point provided by ISP eg. IP, Gateway and DNS. My ISP provides me static IP address for home computer as mentioned below :
IP : 192.168.20.88
Gateway : 192.19.20.1
DNS: 192.168.20.1
Alt DNS : 192.168.20.1
My public IP address is 180.87.210.26.

currently we are using a proxy (192.168.45.90) for internet. the internal network ip scheme is 192.168.30.0-254. my problem is that how should i configure the new ISA2004 installation on separate PC with new IP range like 192.168.31.0-254 using that proxy 192.168.45.90.
View 1 Replies View RelatedIn my office environment, my machine is configured with an IP address, Subnet Mask and a Default Gateway. The Default Gateway does not allow internet connectivity but is configured to provide us with connectivity to some server based tool.
Now in order to provide us with the internet access, a proxy server is configured via the LAN settings in the IE. The problem here is the Proxy is restricted for some sites that I need like certain technical blogs and all, which it filters out in the blogs category and does not load.
I do have another Gateway server address that I can use in Local Area Connection IPv4 Properties as Default Gateway address which removes this restriction. I thought that this should be configurable to the LAN Settings as a proxy as well. But when I do so, I lose the connection to the internet.
I am not sure if all Gateways can act as proxy servers. Or is there anything that I am doing wrong. I am using the default port 8080 in LAN Settings.I can ask this from the technician but I am not sure if he would be able to answer that as he is just a first level guy. I thought of figuring it out myself.

View 3 Replies View RelatedRecently i had suffering with wireless connection problem, currently my wireless router connected to WAN directly, after that go into firewall and then go thru switch to end user PC, for LAN user there is no issue, but for wireless connected PC it is prompted with limited connectivity problem(DHCP is disable on router), after check with ipconfig /all. it seem likely due to wireless PC cannot get the IP from DHCP server. i am using DLink615 router. i had checked firewall setting there is firewall policy that connected all router ip into company LAN, but i don't think there is DHCP VPN setting up. is there anyway i can go thru firewall and get IP from DHCP server because if i set up DHCP on router, it cannot pass thru and access to LAN.

They were inquiring about the AIP/ASA, and since this would NOT work in their current setup, would getting a pair of 5510/AIP configured for transparent failover work placed in front fo the existing units? Would I need to have a switch placed between the AIP and CSC ASA's? Or would I setup the ASA's for context based Active/Active failover to interconnect the ASA's to the existing units, but I still see a need for a switch.

But here is the situation that has me baffled-I have a house that has ethernet wired ports in each room, then there is a central hub in my closet. In the hub, I have a grey ethernet cord that is labeled 'service'. This service wire connects to a board that features 12 ethernet ports, 1 of which says 'in', 1 says 'security interface' and has a little nub in it, and the other 10 are not labeled. The grey wire is in the 'in' port.So I am left with 10 ports- port 3 of 10 has a (phone cord size) cord in it, connecting into the 'line' port on my Qwest modem/router. (Qwest set this all up for me, by the way). The modem/router is obviously plugged into the wall. Now- remaining loose in the hub are 9 ethernet cords- 5 blue, 4 green. Each one of these is written on in sharpie, and has a room label on it. 'Family, living room, kitchen, etc...'. So, pretty obvious, I simply found which cord corresponds to the room I am trying to use (family GREEN is one, family BLUE is another). These 2 wires correspond to the top port, and bottom port of a switch plate that is in my family room. Now- inside the closet hub I plugged family GREEN and family BLUE into the back of the ROUTER, ports 1 and 2 (of 4 available). Now- I went back to the wall- connected ethernet wires into the wall plate and then into the ethernet devices I am trying to use (slingbox and directv dvr). Neither are working.
If I go to setup menu on dvr it says it cannot find a network, not getting an ip address. is that the slingbox red lights are both solid (which means there is a connection), and if I go back to the router ETH1 and ETH2 are lit up on the front, again implying that I have a valid connection. This isn't rocket science, but I must be doing something wrong. Are the family GREEN and family BLUE supposed to go into any of the 9 remaining ports that are open inside the closet hub? Because my thought was- let's say hypothetically I wanted to use every available wall jack in my house. There are 9 wall jacks total, but there are only 4 ports on the router. So this would not work. But, there are 9 ethernet ports open on the board in the closet. So I must need to use the ports in the closet, NOT on the router? If so, are these closet ports specific? Because (remember I have a phone like cord coming out of port 3, going into the 'line' port on my router/modem) I took this phone like cord out of port 3, plugged into port 4. and 5, and 6, 7, etc... and none of them would allow my wifi to work- the INT light goes off on the modem/router at that point. But when I plugged back into port 3 (where Qwest originally put it), INT lit back up and wifi worked again. So this makes me think that these 10 (9 remaining) ports are specific somehow? I know this was a lot to read. End result I am looking for- continue to use my wifi on the computer (the ONE place in my house there is no wall jack lol), and connect my slingbox and my directv dvr to the wall jack in my family room so I can (have slingbox) and get On-Demand content for directv.

They I already using on their side my local network 192.168.10.0/24 (server is 192.168.10.10) so we need to use imaginary network 172.16.0.5 as server address. I've double checked with Active Directory, and he is a member of both groups.
This person SHOULD have access to Job searches/ and Restaurants,but receives a "content blocked" message on his browser.It appears to me that the settings in Sonicwall are correct, as well with AD member groups.
