I was trying few days ago a tutorial of SSH tunneling, but I got an error,"server unexpectedly closed network connection", although I did everything like in the video tutorial and port 433 was not closed.

I have disabled windows firewall in Windows 2003 server control panel but only few ports are shown opened when i scanned with advanced port scanner why other ports are closed.How to open the closed ports?

Since switching over, when I periodically look at email on Live Mail, I frequently get a "Windows Live Mail" message saying "Your server unexpectedly terminated the connection. Possible causes for this include server problems, network problems, or a long period of inactivity." I have never received this message from either one of the previous routers - LinkSys, Netgear.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI'm new to IT, and have been put in charge of managing our servers hile my boss is on vacation.We currently have a Sonicwall Network Security Appliance that handles our Firewall/VPN and have web content filtering set in place.I have a user who belongs to 2 CFS policy groups that we have set up. I've double checked with Active Directory, and he is a member of both groups.
This person SHOULD have access to Job searches/ and Restaurants,but receives a "content blocked" message on his browser.It appears to me that the settings in Sonicwall are correct, as well with AD member groups.
I am trying to connect to a Security-enabled wireless netowork. I have the key. My problem is that I can't seem to figure out how to enter it. When I try to connect I open the "view available networks"window. I see the network name and it shows a strong signal (all 5 green bars).

View 1 Replies View RelatedRecently i had suffering with wireless connection problem, currently my wireless router connected to WAN directly, after that go into firewall and then go thru switch to end user PC, for LAN user there is no issue, but for wireless connected PC it is prompted with limited connectivity problem(DHCP is disable on router), after check with ipconfig /all. it seem likely due to wireless PC cannot get the IP from DHCP server. i am using DLink615 router. i had checked firewall setting there is firewall policy that connected all router ip into company LAN, but i don't think there is DHCP VPN setting up. is there anyway i can go thru firewall and get IP from DHCP server because if i set up DHCP on router, it cannot pass thru and access to LAN.

I'm thinking Kaspersky would have greater security but I'm not familiar with AVG's server level security.I don't need all the bells and whistles such as file encryption or password storage. I'm simply after a really strong AV for the server. Another one is VIPRE although I've heard it can take a while to configure it unlike Kaspersky which is pretty straight forward.

Just a quick rundown, the past few weeks, 2 of my email accounts have been compromised, one was email i had for years, the other was a new random email that i rarely use. In the same week, both these accounts were "hacked" the passwords were changed and i can't get access to them. Same goes for my fb account also compromised. These emails aren't linked to the fb acct neither. I know you might think yeah, i might have clicked on one of these phishing links, but i assure you haven't, i have never entered any of my information on random sites or anything like that. Actually i only really frequent 5 or 6 sites on this certain laptop and i have never downloaded anything on it but songs from iTunes.
I've scanned my computer numerous times, and even went as far as to factory reset it, so i don't know how high the possibility of me having a key logger is.So i guess i'm asking, how would a person be able to have gained access to computer w/o having it in their physical possession? Can i be getting hacked through my wifi connection? What information of mine would someone have to have in order to access my computer and monitor my web activity?

View 2 Replies View RelatedWe operate a home office network (workgroup) of 6 older PCs running Windows XP SP3.It's a Windows based network using a designated "home" PC as a server, and until recently we were using ethernet cables and a hub/switch for sharing files which worked well because we only share small document files, no music or video.The workgroup does not have a shared internet connection, we don't want or need one for what we do, although the individual PC's can connect to the web using USB dongles just for checking e-mail.Recently the ethernet hub died and I decided to take the opportunity to upgrade to wireless file sharing.None of the PCs have inbuilt wireless adapters so I bought a D-Link USB wireless adapter for each PC.I also bought a Netgear N300 router, thinking that this was suitable entry level equipment for wireless file sharing. Now I'm not so sure.So far I was unable to install the router on the "home" PC because the installation CD seems to assume that the router will be used for sharing an internet connection and does not seem to offer an installation option without a standalone modem. How to install this type of router to create a closed home wireless network without a shared internet connection.
