May 20, 2012I want to block 10.0.0.1 and 192.168.1.1 but my router says invalid domain so if will the guess network be able to go to page 10.0.0.1 and 192.168.1.1 even though I don't block it? I have a bypass account but don't want anyone else to access 10.0.0.1 and 192.168.1.1. Also can you tell me some proxy sites I can block?

Sep 2, 2011I am currently running a Windows 2003 Server Edition and I have an issue, we run a small piece of software for controlling the nights takings which connects to the tills database on the network.This piece of software is not password protected and is held in a safe, however it has come to our attention that an employee may have taken possession of a copy of this application and we need to block the application been run on the network.Now this is were it gets difficult, I know to stop the application I could just use the Software Restriction Policy with Hash Rules which would solve that. However the problem is that sometimes people WILL need to run this software on the network and not get blocked.These people may not have their own accounts etc so I am trying to workout a way that we can allow someone to bypass the software restriction policy with a password prompt, is this possible or is their another way around this issue?

Dec 24, 2011I'm new to IT, and have been put in charge of managing our servers hile my boss is on vacation.We currently have a Sonicwall Network Security Appliance that handles our Firewall/VPN and have web content filtering set in place.I have a user who belongs to 2 CFS policy groups that we have set up. I've double checked with Active Directory, and he is a member of both groups.
This person SHOULD have access to Job searches/ and Restaurants,but receives a "content blocked" message on his browser.It appears to me that the settings in Sonicwall are correct, as well with AD member groups.

Mar 8, 2012I was wondering how would it be possible for a person to gain access to computer through my router? Or is that even possible? Just a quick rundown, the past few weeks, 2 of my email accounts have been compromised, one was email i had for years, the other was a new random email that i rarely use. In the same week, both these accounts were "hacked" the passwords were changed and i can't get access to them. Same goes for my fb account also compromised. These emails aren't linked to the fb acct neither. I know you might think yeah, i might have clicked on one of these phishing links, but i assure you haven't, i have never entered any of my information on random sites or anything like that. Actually i only really frequent 5 or 6 sites on this certain laptop and i have never downloaded anything on it but songs from iTunes.
I've scanned my computer numerous times, and even went as far as to factory reset it, so i don't know how high the possibility of me having a key logger is.So i guess i'm asking, how would a person be able to have gained access to computer w/o having it in their physical possession? Can i be getting hacked through my wifi connection? What information of mine would someone have to have in order to access my computer and monitor my web activity?

Sep 22, 2011Recently i had suffering with wireless connection problem, currently my wireless router connected to WAN directly, after that go into firewall and then go thru switch to end user PC, for LAN user there is no issue, but for wireless connected PC it is prompted with limited connectivity problem(DHCP is disable on router), after check with ipconfig /all. it seem likely due to wireless PC cannot get the IP from DHCP server. i am using DLink615 router. i had checked firewall setting there is firewall policy that connected all router ip into company LAN, but i don't think there is DHCP VPN setting up. is there anyway i can go thru firewall and get IP from DHCP server because if i set up DHCP on router, it cannot pass thru and access to LAN.
