Security / Firewalls :: Block Software With Password Bypass?

Sep 2, 2011

I am currently running a Windows 2003 Server Edition and I have an issue, we run a small piece of software for controlling the nights takings which connects to the tills database on the network. This piece of software is not password protected and is held in a safe, however it has come to our attention that an employee may have taken possession of a copy of this application and we need to block the application been run on the network. Now this is were it gets difficult, I know to stop the application I could just use the Software Restriction Policy with Hash Rules which would solve that. However the problem is that sometimes people WILL need to run this software on the network and not get blocked. These people may not have their own accounts etc so I am trying to workout a way that we can allow someone to bypass the software restriction policy with a password prompt, is this possible or is their another way around this issue?

Security / Firewalls :: How To Block Websites From Viewing Personal Information

Mar 18, 2012

In my curiosity, when I typed one of my family members, I was so shocked to find that his personal information is right on the websites, as if he gave 'permission' to see his privacy, i.e., his age, marital status, even his home address. when I typed all of my family members, their personal informations are also on websites as if they all gave 'permission' to see their privacy.

It's 'privacy invasion' to see all of our family personal informations.

My question is; How to block websites from viewing all of my family members' personal informations?

Cisco Security :: 5520 Build A WebVPN For The Company Urls

Jun 22, 2008

I have a ASA 5520 upon which I need to build a WebVPN for the company urls - webmail, intranet portals etc. There will be 2 groups -

a. Confidential Access - For senior management.
b. Public Access - For employee access.
RSA Token & LDAP auth would be used for access to the WebVPN. However, I am unclear on certain aspect. How do I isolate the 2 groups?  I mean only Senior management should be able to view & access the first set of links while employees see and access the other set of links only. Both the groups will be available to all users loggin on to the WebVPN. Since the authentication mechanism - LDAP - is the same, anyone would be able to access the groups and in turn, urls.

I've double checked with Active Directory, and he is a member of both groups.

This person SHOULD have access to Job searches/ and Restaurants, but receives a "content blocked" message on his browser. It appears to me that the settings in Sonicwall are correct, as well with AD member groups.

Linksys Wireless Router :: WRT54GL - Block Sites Like Facebook During Workday But Allow Internet?

Jan 15, 2013

I want to block sites like facebook during my workday but allow the rest of the internet.
The attached settings block facebook as desired during the filter times but after 6:30pm the filter expires and the entire internet is blocked (not just facebook). All of my browsers act as if they are hanging and won't load pages until I disable the filter.
I've also tried creating two different filters (one at a time). The first allowed full internet access all the time and the second allowed access the opposite times of the work filter. But to no avail.
