Nov 18, 2012I recently moved house to a flat where I now have an adsl wireless router. Ever since I installed it its been major problems for me, my speeds are terrible takes ages to load a webpage and days to download anything. Also I have tried to stream to my apple tv through the use of airplay mirroring but this again doesn't work and an error code appears every time which I then looked up and it says its to do with my firewall blocking incoming connections. I have gone to my routers settings to try change this and it says to select the options by clicking the radio buttons however they do not exist on the page as you can see on the screenshot below.

Jul 7, 2011A few days ago i tried logging onto to League of Legends, and my net disconnected. Thinking nothing of it, i reset the router and tried again, to no avail. Then for the last few days i can't get on skype, LoL, or any other program that uses the internet. I can get onto websites and such( using firefox) except i can not load youtube videos, otherwise my internet disconnects for a minute or so.

I excluded my computer ip address from the CSC filtering but i am still unable use certain radio stations. I thought since my computer is excluded from the CSC filtering and some radio stations don't work that it must be the firewall that is blocking the traffic. I removed the rtsp inspection and it won't work.

Aug 12, 2011I have an interesting SVPN challenge that I'm asking the subject experts here to assist me in solving.A customer in Domain A wants to transmit data to Domain B. The customers have agreed to establishing a secure vpn connection from Domain A to Domain B to transmit real time data. The challenge comes from sending unencrypted data from nodeA to nodeB & nodeC withing an encrypted VPN tunned to node d.The challenge is sending non-encrypted data from NodeA to NodeB where an encrypted VPN session is active. Every time I attempt to configure the interface (AppC) the VPN session is terminated, and the interface can no longer "see" nodeD via IP mapping. An engineer recommended adding a second NIC card to NodeB thereby permitting control of the AppC even when the VPN is up and running.Can I send live non-encrypted data to NodeB data buffer, while AppC sends data to NodeD in a VPN tunnel ?

Jun 6, 2011yesterday at 6:30 am my internet was working fine.yesterday at 7am it quits working.the computers through the house are 2 desktop PC's, one netbook, and one laptop.the 2 pc's connect to the router via a switch.the netbook and laptop use the wireless router.the wireless router is not specifically just a wireless router, it goes both ways (hardline and wireless)after 7am, the netbook still had connectivity to the internet via wireless even though my laptop did not.the internet is still connected to all of them, browsers like google chrome, firefox, and IE7 do not work. but just like a browser, steam's store will not load.here's the funny part, the netbook still had browsing ability until 7pm last night.we checked all the ip's and MAC addresses on the computers to make sure nothing was conflicting.nothing was.packets were coming in and out at normal rate but none of our browsers worked.we do have comcast, and my father told me that comcast gives you norton for free for using them.i have read on here that removing norton magically solves the problem but 3 of the 4 computers does not run norton. and i also do not see the logic behind this.we have also recieved emails from comcast exclaiming that they have reports of "bot emails" coming from our I.P.'s could this have been an attack on our network or some network virus?

Apr 23, 2012I am thinking about running some third-party unified communications apps under VMWare ESXi5 on a Cisco SRE 900 module. According to the Cisco docs, third-party apps are supported on these modules (see table below) but the app in question is NOT on Cisco's list below.

Some questions:
1. As long as the third-party app is capable of running under VMWare/VSphere ESXi5, is there anything on the SRE that would prevent you from running this third-party app even though it's not on Cisco's list?
2. What is Cisco's policy on the use of third-party apps that are not on their list? For example, will they take a support call on the SRE running a non-listed app. (I don't want to void any sort of support contract through the use of a third-party app not on their list).

Nov 1, 2011We have a 5510 ASA that was running 8.0 and were using it for clientless VPN access. Through this, we published bookmarks that linked to an internal Microsoft 2008R2 RemoteApps server, which users logged on to and then launched RemoteApps (basically being RDP sessions to apps on the server).All worked fine until we upgraded to 8.4 over the weekend and we now can't launch the RemoteApps. We can still login through the ASA, still click a bookmark to take us to the RemoteApps server's webpage, still then authenticate against the domain fine and still see the published apps. The problem now is when we launch the apps we get "this computer can't connect to the remote computer" messages and the app fails to launch. Nothing has changed on the RemoteApp server side, only the upgrade to 8.4.

Feb 21, 2013I bought the EA6500 yesterday, to replace my E3200.Formerly, with the E3200, I was able to block applications on the router admin page, without blocking all internet access, under the "Access Restrictions" Tab. I could create access policies that allowed internet access to specific devices, while blocking port ranges/protocols for specific applicatons. while this didn't work for Skype, which jumps from one port to the other until it finds an open one, it worked perfectly for World of Warcraft. the primary target of my restrictions.in common with the old setup for the E3200, the new cloud login allows me to block internet access completely to a device. it also allows me to block websites to my heart's content, an improvement upon the old system, which stopped at four. but to my great surprise, it will not allow me to specify port blockages for specific apps for specific devices., while the new EA6500 is blessed with the added capability of actually recognizing applications by name, *it is only to give them greater priority*. the Media Prioritization tab lets you give a ton of your bandwith to specific apps, but won't let you throttle or block them. Is there some way to work around this? Some alternative firmware? again, I don't want/need to block all internet access to a particular computer. I only need to block some apps (World of Warcraft, and Skype, possibly some torrents) by closing some ports.
