Recently purchased the EA3500 router. Everything seems to work great except for Facebook on mobile devices with Android OS using both apps and browser. I can access FB using a laptop's browser.

Just installed a Linksys N750 (EA3500) router (WAN - LAN setup). I settled both band networks : 2.4 Ghz and 5Ghz with different SSID and different WAP2/WAP personal mixt. WHile some devices will show both networks correctly, I'm facing issues with the 5Ghz band and wonder if this is sigh of some kind of failure:
- while my iPad offered both signals and let me set the 5 Ghz band, it is showing weak signal and stall on loading webpages; as soon as I instead put it on the 2.4Ghz band, (standing at same location of course), everything runs smoothly, excellent signal.
- I have a Mac Mini and PS3 side by side same location. The Mac Mini seems to works flawlessly under both bands, 2.4 or 5 - excellent signal. However, the PS3 fails its connexion test and states that signal is not perceptible on the 5Ghz. But connect as a snap on the 2.4 Ghz band.
- Got on and off 5Ghz signal on a laptop; connected to 2.4Ghz, everything runs perfect.
- iPhones 4S : I don't even see the 5Ghz SSID, but I get both the 2.4 and Guess account..So I'm tempted to conclude that some devices just can't follow the pace (??) to connect on 5Ghz..
Updated firmware was installed and settings were reviewed. Intermittently the E1500 looses its ability to connect only to our Android devices and "Cisco Connect" displays that it has lost Internet connectivity. The PC hard-wired to the E1500 and another PC connected wirelessly both work fine when this happens, despite the Cisco Connect message. The Android devices show the presence of the network, but they never "connect" - find the IP address. The problem can only be resolved by re-booting (powering off/on) the E1500. The loss of connectivity to our two Android devices and the Cisco Connect error display always are concurrent. E1500 looses connection to Android devices

View 1 Replies View RelatedI bought the EA6500 yesterday, to replace my E3200.Formerly, with the E3200, I was able to block applications on the router admin page, without blocking all internet access, under the "Access Restrictions" Tab. I could create access policies that allowed internet access to specific devices, while blocking port ranges/protocols for specific applicatons. while this didn't work for Skype, which jumps from one port to the other until it finds an open one, it worked perfectly for World of Warcraft. the primary target of my restrictions.in common with the old setup for the E3200, the new cloud login allows me to block internet access completely to a device. it also allows me to block websites to my heart's content, an improvement upon the old system, which stopped at four. but to my great surprise, it will not allow me to specify port blockages for specific apps for specific devices., while the new EA6500 is blessed with the added capability of actually recognizing applications by name, *it is only to give them greater priority*. the Media Prioritization tab lets you give a ton of your bandwith to specific apps, but won't let you throttle or block them. Is there some way to work around this? Some alternative firmware? again, I don't want/need to block all internet access to a particular computer. I only need to block some apps (World of Warcraft, and Skype, possibly some torrents) by closing some ports.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have installed 4 of these units in a commercial premises offering free wifi. Since the day they were installed (5Months ago) we had connectivity issues with mobile devices. This was somewhat resolved in the latest FW 1.0.04 but we are still having random disconnections on the units every 2 - 4 days and have to reboot the units. Lately the units have become unresponsive and reset themselves back to factory settings.
What we have done so far:
Changed router models - No change
Changed from Static IPs & DHCP - No change
Turned on isolation - No change
Performed a wifi analysis to pick the best channel for each unit - Slight signal gain but still disconnects
Changed to 20Mhz only (And all other variations) - No change
I think I am left with no option but to return these for some other brand. I'm really regretting buying these units at the minute...

View 3 Replies View RelatedRecently, I have configured a small Wireless Network with Cisco 2500 WLC (25 AP License) running version 7.3.101.0 ,Total 15 APs were installed and associated with the Controller successfully.I have configured WLAN with WPA2-PSK.
I came across a strage issue, where all Android devices can't access Internet via Wireless.When I checked the Controller log, the Android devices (Phones, Tablets) are successfully authenticated and associated to the Wireless Network (They got the IP Address from the DHCP Server configured on the Switch) but they can't access internet.
There is no issue with Apple devices (IPhones, IPADs) and Wireless Laptops. Even the Apple devices and laptops getting IP Assigned from the Same DHCP pool configured on the Switch.
Any issue connecting just Android devices? All other devices connect fine.
Is there any limitation/configuration on the WLC which restricts the Internet Access only to the Android devices?
EA4500 Linksys router stopped allowing vizio Internet apps to connect from two different TV's. Problem, Just got brand new EA4500 router and Motorola SURFboard DOCSIS 3.0 High-Speed Cable Modem Model: 575319-019. I have 2 new vizio big screen tv's with internet apps. All was working fine and had no problems but occasional drops or limited access.
One day BOTH TV's could no longer connect. However, The tv's will connect to another access point. therefore the problem does not exist in the TV/s and has to be a problem in my access point (I.E. Router allowing access). Additionally, all other devices connect and work fine. I have already unplugged everything for an extended period of time. Checked for updates on firmware and verified no software needed to be updated. Rebooted router... Am using wpa-psk and feel i shouldn't have to go weep as it was working fine...
How is it possible to block facebook (or other sites) on WRT610N router, given that I have already set up Internet Access restrictions based on day/hour ?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI am attempting to block Facebook on a WRT160N firmware v3.0.00. I have a successful policy that blocks edit.com for instance and attempted to add url... I don't want to add keyword blocking as multiple news articles are in regards to Facebook. We simply do not want the Facebook website allowed. I tested the other policies on a network-wide setting, applying it to all IPs successfully, added Facebook to them and it goes right around the block. My guess is that Facebook is most likely designed to make it purposely difficult to block.
I went through the recent articles in search, but they primarily dealt with incorrect application of the policy (spec'ing MAC, or IPs), which isn't the case here. Eventually I will apply the policies to specific Macs, but I want them to work first.
I have installed my new E4200 and it works beautifully. I have several wirelss adapters and a few wired connections through powerline adapters. I also have a second VPN router attached to the 4200.I can see the wireless connected devices with the associated IP addresses. If I plug a laptop directly into the Cisco, I can of course see it.However, I can see none of the devices attatched to the powerline devices? I have a securty cam connected via the powerline and want to know the IP address. I checked with cisco technical support via chat and they said it is impossible. I have used 2 previous routers with the same configuration and can see all devices.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have the WRT310N v2 and having been having an issue with the Facebook games for the past week. I can logon to facebook just fine, but when I try to go into a game or accept gift requests, nothing works and the page always times out. However, when I disconnect the modem cable from the router and plug it in directly to the desktop, everything works fine. All other websites (Shockwave and Pogo) work just fine, but just Facebook has the problem when the router is connected.
I went through all the settings for the router. Nothing is blocked and everything is in fine working order. The only thing I noticed was that there was a firmware update to 2.0.01 which I did, and still the problem remains. I've made sure that there are no restrictions on IE or Chrome as well. I first thought that the router was crapping out, but have since disregarded that.
I've been using my WRT310Nv2 Cisco wireless Gigabit N router for 2 weeks now, and sometimes, it's blocking access to Facebook.comI am not aware if it does the same thing with other websites, but my guess is that if I fix this one, I'll fix them all. So here I go, I click on my Facebook icon in my bookmarks and all goes well. Then, a while after, Facebook doesn't respond anymore and I'm send to a page that says "this is probably not the webpage you are looking for!" and it goes on about someone probably trying to hack my Internet and so on. But it's impossible: my network is under a solid WPA/WPA 2 security access. So I try again and click on the FB icon, and it shows me this:

I have an E2000, and I connect wirelessly through my Macbook. When I use the internet on any laptop I connect to the router (not just the Mac) I can't log in to Facebook, Amazon, Ebay, Hotmail, or any other site, and Google image pages only load halfway. In certain websites I try to use I cannot click anything at all. I have tried unplugging and plugging back in, and I have tried resetting the router.

my wife bought me this EA3500 for Father's Day this year. It's only been hooked up for a couple of weeks (we were in the middle of a move during Father's Day), but now I have no wifi on either band. My wife can no longer connect to it either. We have tried completely resetting it, we have reset the modem, the switch, laptops, everything. Still no wifi. It worked out of the box, but now we have nothing. Does HP needs a certain type of driver? Our iPhones show connected and surf the brower's and FB app with no issues while in wifi mode, but then again, I can pull the ethernet from the internet port and the phone's still show connected (good job, iOS).Cable from main splitter runs to basement where the modem is located. Modem ethernet feed up a wall to a wall plate where the router is. Router then feeds back to the switch. The switch then sends the IP throughout the house for the LAN lines, and the EA3500 feeds all of the wireless devices (used to). So, Cable box, modem, router, switch. Router is currently good for LAN only. I am connected to it via LAN right now, 2 feet from my laptop.

It has 10.0.123.123 as local IP address on my local network and it can be accessed by internet with the dynamic domain name.So when I'm home, I have to use 10.0.123.123 to access it, and when I'm away, I have to use trucmuche.diskstation.me.Would it be possible to configure the EA3500 to redirect the domain name "trucmuche.diskstation.me" to 10.0.123.123 when I use the domain name inside my home ?A friend told me that I had to configure "loopback" but I don't know how..
View 3 Replies View RelatedI want to block sites like facebook during my workday but allow the rest of the internet.
The attached settings block facebook as desired during the filter times but after 6:30pm the filter expires and the entire internet is blocked (not just facebook). All of my browsers act as if they are hanging and won't load pages until I disable the filter.
I've also tried creating two different filters (one at a time). The first allowed full internet access all the time and the second allowed access the opposite times of the work filter. But to no avail.
On E4200 Firmware Version: 1.0.03, I managed to successfully set up "Internet Access Policy" (not the "Parental Controls") to set up the times when internet access is disabled for various IPs on my network.
But I could't setup a policy to block facebook.com. What I am doing wrong? See the attached screen shot. I did click the "Edit List" and apply this polity to the IP Address Range 192.168.1.2 to 192.168.1.254.
I have an issue with a brand new E4200 router. My E4200 can connect no issue with the following devices: Ipad, AppleTV, Dell Laptop, Ibm Laptop. It is also wired connected to my home PC. Internet works fine and file sharing/network works good for all the above devices.
The problem is that My wife and I's Phone can not detect the wifi network and can not connect to it. The SSID broadcast is enabled on both frequencies (2.4 and 5). I have try configuring the network manually on both the Android phones..it does not work.. it records the data but keep sayng the network is out of range (although I'm right next to the router). I hva eplayed with various channels on both frequecies and played also with the MTU size.One of the Android phone is Garmin the other Acer Liquid...different brand running both Android 2.2...

All settings reset to Auto/MIxed for now.
WPA2 is enable with security key
SSID is enabled on both frequency
no MAC address filtering is setup
Both my phones can detect other networks and can connect fine to friends and family networks...So I suspect a compatibility problem between router an Android..I have contacted Linksys support twice with no avail. I have contacted both Acer and Garmin...they refer me to linksys
Setup my DCS-930L for DDNS (Dynamic Domain Name Server) so I can access the DCS-930L via the Internet (couldn't access the camera half the the time while on vacation using mydlink) and can now access the camera using my laptop, Android Thrive, and Motorola Droid 3 via the URL I've created but can only see the video when using the laptop.
I have the DCS-930L set to Java but when I log into the camera with the Thrive or Droid 3 (both Android devices) I don't get video. I can make changes to the camera settings and everything else you can do when logged into the camera but just can't see the video. If I change the 'View Mode' in the video setup to 'Image', I will get a picture on all three devices (Thrive, Droid 3, and laptop).
What do I need on the Droid 3 & Thrive so I can see the video when I log into the DCS-930L with an Android device?
