View 8 Replies View RelatedI am using a Windows 7 machine and I'm pretty sure the ethernet cable that I'm using is functional, considering that I'm using it to connect to the Internet right now.I've been trying to get my router going for a while now and I'm pretty sure I've tried everything that the internet has advised. I've screwed around with the card speed, 10 mbps Half Duplex didn't work or anything. I've manually set the IP and related stuff to 192.168.1.x and the works. I've tried to manually run the setup, although that definitely didn't work considering that my computer can't even detect the dang router. I've screwed around with the wiring and restarted my router and modem constantly.

View 19 Replies View RelatedJust re-installed windows on a laptop i got, i got all the drivers installed, but i cant seem to get the wireless card to show up, i know it has wireless because it was my moms laptop before she got a new one. Ive gone to dell support site and literately downloaded all the drivers on the page. Device manager doesn't seem to be detecting the card at all, the dell Wlan utility wont even start ive reinstalled the driver multiple times i even tried the intel site for drivers.
The big problem is i don't know what wireless card it is and its hard to find out because the support pdf for the laptop shows multiple possible cards.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am using a gateway nv53a laptop with windows 64 bit. I actually have 2 of them. Internet worked fine for a couple years then it just stopped. I cannot connect through wired or wireless. Icon says no connections are available. When I trpubleshoot it says there is no driver installed. I have already tried downloading and installing the drivers. In the device manager it doesn't even have network adapters listed unless you go to view and show hidden. Then it only lists a bunch of miniports and a teredo tunneling pseudo interface. No network adapter is listed. I have do a factory reset and have even taken the wireless card out of my other laptop and installed into this one and it still doesn't recognize it. Running out of options.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a Inspiron 1520 which came with windows Vista and I recently did a Windows 7 clean installation. There were no drivers specified for Windows 7 in Dell Driver Download so I installed Vista drivers, connected to internet via LAN Cable and upgraded most of the drivers.
WiFI networks could be detected when installed for the first time but after a shutdown it never detects again. Sometimes it randomly detects, I tried using the laptop for 2 weeks now and only 2 times the WiFI automatically came up.
There is a switch to pull after turning on WiFI radio, which will display the list of WiFi networks in a window, that Switch is not responding now.
My computer is running on Windows 7. It has had no prior internet connection problems. It is wired to my DV-2020 router. My internet suddenly disappeared, as in, it doesn't work anymore. I'm not sure as to when it disappeared due to my personal absence, but from what I heard it was either during 'starting a game' or 'installing firefox add-ons updates'. Internet does work on other computers sharing the same internet (wired and wireless). On the computer that does not have access to internet it gives a "local area connection - No Network Access" and "local area connection - unidentified network." So far I've tried:
A system restore.
Restarting the router (at home as well as the provider)
Changing wiring.
Disabling / Enabling.
Disabling virusscanner.

I have a windows 7 computer that was connected wirelessly to my router and internet worked fine. One day i woke up and the internet would not work. The computer is still connected to the router but no internet access.There are other computers on the network that connect fine.I have also tried connecting my computer directly to the modem and still no internet.Running windows diagnositc tells me there is no default gateway available. Ive cycled the modem and router probably a million times and even taking the pc to another house to try on a different router and still no go.

I have an old computer that is Windows 98SE. It uses a dial-up connection, but I don't have a phone line anymore so I've been trying to find another way to connect it to the internet. The internet connection on my old computer has always been fine; all cables are connected correctly. However, this computer from work will not connect to the internet. I drove last night to my mother's house and proceeded to connect to her own wifi router wirelessly. Although my sister's computer that's on windows 7 connects ably, and both our iPhones connect, my computer will not. I have another computer plugged into my netgear box and it works perfectly fine. I checked and made sure everything was plugged in right and restarted my netgear thing but it did not work. View 1 Replies View RelatedWe currently have 1 PC and my laptop connected to the internet with 0 hassle. My father brought in his work computer last night and asked me if I could set it up. Only problem is I cannot for the life of me have it connect to the internet.
He has a PC with Win7, and when I search for a network it says there's no connections available. The PC is inches away from the modem. Also, our other two computers had no problem picking out the connection after a quick scan.
I started to lose hope when I ran an ethernet cable into the PC to see if I could get it to recognize the connection.
No luck. This is not a brand new computer, it's his work computer that before the move was operating just fine.
