Browsers will not download certain files. They often get stuck at 300-400 kb, but some other files are ok. Eg. I can never download Java 64 from filehippo, whereas CCleaner is good to go from filehippo.WirelessTried with no firewall, no antivirusprogram.My other computer wireless downloads.Tried different drivers to network adapter.

As an example, if I try to download from pdf995's site, I get a "page cannot be displayed error. If I try to download current files for my flight planning software (like charts, etc.), the download hangs and never completes. I have bypassed the RVS4000 and connected directly to the broadband router and there are no problems. We have a 15MB cable connection.Follow-up - It appears the issue is file size. At pdf995's site, downloading a 2.5MB file works, but the 9 MB file does not. The file sizes for the flight planning software are rather large - 100-200 MB, and they hang as well. Connecting directly to the cable router does not cause this problem. The RVS4000 is set for Gateway mode.

I want to remotely access the files on my old, slow, Big Bertha computer, which is soo terribly, horribly slow, using my new Win7 PC. But it won't let me! The XP PC is connected via ethernet cable to my Belkin Wireless-N router, and the new HP Win7 PC is connected to my wireless network via wireless signal. The computers cannot see each other or find each other on the network. All webpages open fine on the wireless router back at my place.
Also, all the webpages seem to load fine on other PC's in the house. I have scanned using kaspersky twice, there were no threats. And I tried using Hotspot Shield - and all the websites load only when hotspot shield is on.
New windows 8 pc which can't connect to an internal ip (inside address 192.168.1.237) through browser, either firefox or IE. I use this address to open a webdav session on browser to transfer files form pc to iphone, or vice versa, using ipphoone app Files Pro. I have no problem connecting on this using my old windows xp pc using ie, which is in another room. Both pcs used my fairly new ASUS ac router. I want to access this folder via my Wireless laptop with Windows Media Player but I only get a handful of the 3000+ songs on the disk. A hard wired PC can access the files but not a wireless laptop. I'm not sure where the issue is. If I use the drive via //host/Music the Star ratings are not available but I get all music, if I map a drive then I get star rating but only a handful of songs. I have tried to change permission but I cannot change the file permissions on the Linksys.

1. I understand firewalls can throw huge issues, I am pretty sure this is where the problem lies. She was using Ad-aware and I am pretty sure that the window that popped up that she clicked switched her firewall settings back to default and left something weird in the system. When I try to disable Windows firewall and go back to Ad-aware it won't let me exit snooze. It asks if I confirm and when I do nothing happens.
2. I have done a winsock reset and made sure that the proxy boxes are unchecked to make sure there isn't a proxy problem.
3. The ipconfig/reset threw no errors, everything looks fine.
4. No hardware conflicts or errors reported in device manager and all drivers are up to date. Again since the internet is actually working minus the browser I don't think it is a hardware issue.
5. No virus detected. Symantec is loaded on the laptop did a run with that, also have AVG that I installed and ran (disabled one and did the other, never run simultaneously). AVG is now uninstalled as Symantec is disabled to avoid any conflict with AdAware.
Is there any way to completely disable all firewalls, remove any settings or registries (if any), and start from scratch with it? Also, as networking is by far my weak point, is there anything I need to check as far as the DNS is concerned?
My internet has stopped working after windows7 installation. Wireless icon is missing after windows7 installation.

We are running sage accounts system and i cant connect to the main computer that is acting as the hub which runs of windows xp to acces the sage data.The main computer is visible on the network along with all other computers on the network but i cannot connect to it. when i click on it a box appears titles 'windows security' it asks me to 'enter network password' and says below 'enter your network password to connect to cornwall-31aae0' which is the name for the hub pc.
I type in the username and password for that computer and press ok and nothing happens the box flashes and remains the same as if stuck in a continual loop. i have tried various combinations of usernames and passwords including using the computer name as a username and none work.i have played around with the settings changing workgroups and network names etc to match the hub pc and none work either. i have disabled and enabled password protected sharing etc and none of this works either. i seem to have tried everything and also tried matching the settings so that it is the same to another pc on the network running windows 7 also but still makes no difference.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to transfer my old files (pics, documents, music) from my 6 year old Macbook Pro to my new Windows 7 desktop that I built about a month ago. I'm having a really hard time getting the files to transfer over. I've tried extensively to network them through my home wireless to no avail. I tried setting up a workgroup and having my mac manually join to no avail. I know there should be a way to transfer these files quickly over my home network.
The real problem I am having is that my mac isn't showing up as a computer on my network on the PC. I can get the pc to show up as a computer on the mac, but it doesn't show my user profile and all the folders are empty. I've gone into the share settings on both machines and made everything as open and shared as possible, still not showing up. Any foolproof way to quickly transfer files between these machines?
I'm running a desktop pc with Windows XP Professional SP3 32-bit, connected to the network via ethernet, and a laptop running Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit connected to the network via ethernet and wireless. The homegroup name is the same on both machines.

View 2 Replies View RelatedOn my network, I have 2 PCs running Windows 7 Ult, and 2 PCs running WinXP-Pro.When my XP PCs browse a shared folder living on a Win7 PC, not all files or folders are listed. It is as if once a certain number of filenames have been listed, something gives up.For example, on my WIndows 7 PC, I have a folder with about 400 folders of pictures. The XP PCs only see about 300 folders. The number is consistent as far as the number of folders the XP clients see. It is not a permission problem, because if I move some of the low-numbered folders out of the share, then the names at the bottom of the folder list start to appear.I even copied all picture folders to the other Windows 7 PC, and created a fresh share and still the XP clients only see the same limited number of folders or files. It also seems to be based on a percentage, and not a finite limit of file or folder names. For example, if I have 700 objects in a folder, only 500 are visible on the client. If I have 400 objects in a folder, only 300 are visible.

I can access files on her computer, and she can access files from mine (photos, music, video, etc.). I set up a shortcut icons on her desktop for easy access to specific folders I am sharing on my computer. Unfortunately, when I share a folder on my computer, she is unable to view any files added after I initially shared it. So I routinely have to go in and share the folder again. It's not a huge issue, but it is annoying. The limitation seems to be one way, as I can access newly added files on her computer, without resharing.
