For some reason, the past few days, youtube has been incredibly slow at buffering any video i click on. few days ago, it was fine, nothing has been installed that would hinder it's performance, and nothing to do with my LAN has changed.I just did a speedtest and i got 5.76Mbps download speed. I have no idea what i'm getting from my ISP (who is orange) but it'll probably be 20Mbps. I am using a homeplug, and there are a five wireless devices on the network.
I have been having extremely slow buffering on youtube fore like 2 weeks now.i used to be able to watch hd videos with no buffering wait time.now i can even watch 480p without letting it load.i have to wait several minuets even to watch a 12min video is 720p.I have cleared my catch, cookies, and all that stuff.i am using chrome but the problem persists on internet explorer and firefox.
I have a Linksys E4200v2 couple days ago. After set up everything seem be working fine, accept my iPhone 4s. I can do almost things on my iPhone, but when I tried streaming video or streaming music from apps on the phone it stared buffering.... play..... and.... stop.... almost every 30s which never happen with my old Linksys E1000. And It happen with my wife's phone too. Even my internet speed is not bad at all (Ping: 24 / Download 23Mbs / Upload 4Mbs). So I can guess that problem from the router. Then I swap the E4200v2 with the E1000, everything works fine (it just a litle bit slower when loading at begin).
my ea3500 has problems with youtube videos. When i click to start a video, sometimes it starts but after a very long buffering time (more than 8-10 seconds), sometimes it does-not at all some other time, the advertisement play but nothing happens after that (black screen). I have a fast internet access (30 MB up, 2 Mb down). I do not have this problem with the old router that the ea3500 is replacing ( a netgear wndr3700). On this old router al the videos are starting almost instantly.
I tried to lower the MTU of the 3500 from the default 1500 to 1400. No improvement. I tried to disable the WMM feature in QOS and by doing so i create another problem : i cannot access the 5 Ghz band anymore. I can see the SSID but cannot connect to it.
The problem is- in the last week our internet has been very slow and has never been like this in the 4 years that we have had it, we havent moved or disturbed any wires or the router or changed any settings, im thinking its a problem with the hub it self because its the laptop, pc, mobile phones (wifi) and bbc iplayer on the wii that are affected which all worked fine upto a week ago and now we cant play videos as they just keep buffering the wii say it cannot play due to insufficent bandwidth? And the internet on the laptop and pc is very slow now and so is wifi on my mobile and cannot play videos on that either, ive tried resetting the hub and changed the channel but still no change.
I've been having trouble recently with the buffer speeds on youtube.. i use google chrome, and i have a custom built pc with high end specsmy internet connection ranges from 50mb/s to 90mb/s as shown below(i pay for 100mb/s with virgin media, but the speed varies a lot throughout the day)I run a wired connection and have tested different cables, with no success. If i clear catche/browser history ECT i get a short-term buffer speed boost, but after a few minutes the buffering becomes super slow again.people in the same house are having there videos load instantly, with computer no were near as good hardware wise as mine and using a wireless connection.i've tried a few things.. none of witch have worked.. with my speeds i should be able to watch videos in HD and have them buffer instantly.. at this point i cant even watch them in 320p.
I recently upgraded my router because my last cisco router was having a misdirect issue. Type in facebook and you get an invalid URL and would have to reset the router to get it to work. Now I bought a new Cisco router and am regretting it. The n900 was a pretty penny and now ALL my videos are always buffering. I have several computers connected, but not active. The internet is painfully slow with the new router, but lightning fast with out it.
Currently using my laptop secuirty settings are IPv6/ and 4 SPI Firewall Protection: Enabled WPA2/WPA mixed mode.
I have tried everything: Rebooting, up to date firmware, resetting, What should I do next? Disable some of its advanced features? Cisco is earning a bad rap with me if a router that boasts high internet speeds makes all my videos buffer and load painfully slow. Let alone getting through all the commercials on the internet now.
I uploaded an .avi media file, which filled 2.81GB and it took me 7 hours!I was like holy ***, how is it even possible for it to take so long time for an file that only fills 2.81GB?
For some reason Youtube Videos are running extremely slow in Firefox. It has never been this slow, it lags so much when I even have a video on 360p. The worst part, it lags when advertisements load. I don't know why it's doing this, but I want to fix it somehow.
Yesterday, I edited the start up menu to make log ins a lot faster.
I have cable @ 15Mbps down, 2Mbps up. The cable line comes into the crawl space in my daylight basement. I have 3 Cat-5 cables running through the house. 1 to the TV downstairs, and then 1 each to 2 bedrooms on the second floor (one of which is my home office). In the home office, this Cat-5 is connected to a 24-port switch. I plug my printer, NAS, computers, etc into this switch.I have a WRT54G2 v1 that I was using as my Router/AP.I have a 1st & 3rd generation iPad. The iPad 3 plays YouTube videos in HD. About 6 weeks ago I started to get slow YouTube video playback on my iPad's. They would play a few seconds, then pause to buffer, etc. It used to be that videos started playing almost immediately and would never buffer.
Using Wifi Analyzer for Android, I noticed my neighborhood is saturated with 2.4Ghz wifi. So, I figured it must be that the 2.4Ghz band is saturdated and if I moved to a 5Ghz band, the YouTube buffering would be fixed. So, I purchased an E4200 (v1 I think) from Amazon. I bought this Router/AP because it supported the 5Ghz band. It also I connected it to my cable modem and setup everything. Still slow YouTube, and now YouTube videos are slow on my laptop (connected via ethernet). I still get ~15Mbps over ethernet or wifi using the speed test page provided by my ISP, but YouTube videos are VERY slow.
I get the following error whne enabling 802.11a network on a AIR-WLC2106-K9. Country is set to ID (Indonesia),>config 802.11a enable network802.11a network not supported for this Country CodeYet, on a AIR-CT2504-K9, set to same country code there is no problem. Is this a WLC model or version issue? WLC2106 is on version 6.0.199.4 while the CT2504 is 7.0.220.0
I have a Arris DLS with 12 Mbps Download and when I Connect my laptop directly I get the same speed as 12 Mbps but when I do the speed test with my linksys I get only 5 Mbps. How to upgrade to the new WRT54GL or WRT54GS?
Recently my desktop has experienced very slow download speeds (~0.11 Mbps), however the upload speed appears to be in line (~2.0Mbps). These numbers are taken from Comcast's speed test (my ISP). It is obviously a problem with my PC because everything else on the network (PS3, Laptop) have great signals with no problems. I just recently reverted the Desktop back to its factory state, and everything was working fine for a couple of months. The desktop in question uses Vista 32-bit and the Belkin Basic USB Wireless Adapter.
I live in the tampa bay area, I have bright house (BHN) as my service provider, which provides a Road Runner Lightning (40/5) package. I previously used BHN's top tier (20/2) back in July (and prior) with no problems.
After converting to Lightning in August of this year (2010). Of course, BHN (and every other provider) wants to force a modem/router down your throat, so I had them bridge it (in short, turn it into a dummy modem with no routing). I had an SMC branded modem gateway at the time. I work from home 2 days a week (so I can spend more time with my kids during morning, lunch, right after work) and this requires me to use QoS to ensure my VOIP work calls don't get dropped, if the family is watching youtube videos or watching netflex.
My network was as follows SMC Modem >WAN IP>>WAN Port>>D-link DIR-655>>Switch Ports>PC1, PC2, PC3
Everything seemed fine (from a usability stand point) till about 2 weeks ago when my upload speed seemed to grind to halt. Normally I was able to upload about 200-300K per second, and I noticed this dropped to about 45K per second during a drop box upload. First thing I did was power cycle both my modem and router (in the proper/usual order). After they both come up, I start using speed test to find out what my upload speeds were. I was getting about 39Mbps down, but only .56Mbps up still. I factory reset my router.... test, similar speeds. Power cycle all computers (just in case), and then modem/router. Tested, similar speeds. Updated the firmware to the latest. Same issue
Called BHN customer service, they factor reset it, but it wasn't in bridge mode. If I by passed the 655, in factory mode (non bridge mode) upload speeds returned to better than expected states. If I bridged the cable modem, upload speeds seemed to crash.
Had BHN replace the modem, seemed fixed for a day, then issue came back. Had them come back out and replace it again, this time with a Motorolla Surfboard modem... same issue. Fine during factory reset, however after they bridge the modem, upload speeds were fine. Told BHN I would take it from there.. Connected up the DIR-655, and upload speeds crashed again. (.6Mbps). Called D-Link Support, and the Chinese English speaking rep seemed to not be listening to me and tried to have me adjust my MTU as well as Wireless settings. Long story short... the rep was a level 0 id10t and I hope D-link will consider hiring better employees/contractors. So I was all about to give up and replace it with a DD-WRT capable router (which it takes me a lot to want to swap hardware), when I discovered the wan shaping was on. Which I thought to myself... nah... QoS has never messed up before... why would it be the cause. Turned off wan shapping... and voila. Issue seemed to be insta-resolved.
Unsatisfied with that... I decided to dig a lil deeper. I turned on Wan shaping again, but decided to set the settings manually instead of auto detect.
Here are the settings I used... (Advanced Tab>QoS) Enable Traffic Shaping - Checked Automatic Uplink Speed - Unchecked Manual Uplink Speed - 5000 Connection Type: Cable or Other Broadand Network
Enable QoS Engine - Checked Automatic Classification - unchecked (this checked seemed to affect my upload speed by about 5-10% during testing) Dynamic Fragmentation - unchecked (this checked seemed to be the worse enemy for upload speed)
While I know I'm not any network guru (still have to use a subnet calculator for subnetting), I think I did a pretty good job drilling down the issue (once I got passed my service provider replacing modems).
Anyways, I've had overall good luck with D-Link products, even have a 5 port 10/100 switch (all metal) from 1998 that works great. Hopefully, D-Link will just either put more documentation on the web, or hire better employees.
I have Verizon DSL. Since I've gotten it turned on in my new apartment it's been randomly DCing, I had a tech come out and tell me it was because I'm too far from the central office(thought I'm only a mile from the office?) and I needed to call and get my mbps reduced from 10, to 5. So, I called and did that and I was still having the same issue. Today another tech came out, told me the same thing, but I needed to be reduced to 3, and left. I called and got it reduced again. They said it should be 3-5 and I was at 5-7. So, now my download speed is actually higher than it was when I was 5-7(it was at 3 mbps usually, now it's 5), but my ping has doubled. Pages are taking longer to load, and when I play any games online there's a noticeable delay. I have been DCing less often, but it's still happening.
I got ADSL 2.0Mbps internet service, which it's supposed to be fast however my browsing speed is very slow, and my download speed very good and i have this problem with more than one pc and using different OS ( Windows 7 & ubuntu[linux]) so its not a virus issue or a LAN drive issue , and i tried to use different DNS but nothing change.
I rencently built a computer with a friend. The wireless card I had was fast but began to slow down, went from 12 mbps to just under 1. I switched cards because I figured maybe the card was bad. I now have a netis WF 2113 PCIe card. My mom in the room with the router gets 20-30 mbps while I still get <1 to 1 mbps. I've updated the drivers and looked through the net to find a solution, but to no avail.
I ru n the speed test from my desktop and laptop and the download speed are in the same range in both pc's, around 20mb/s. However the upload speed is higher in the laptop (around 4 mb/s) compared the desktop (300 kb/s)My connection is supposed to run at 50 mb/s and 5mb/s?
My D/Speed or Download Speed is roughly 1.5MB.HOWEVER, when I download something it says I am only downloading 171.5KB/s have a look.Picture of speedtest.net STATING I have 1.42-1.50MB download:
Picture of Steam stating I am Downloading at 160-180KB/s:
Plus, If addition, the fact that this has been going on for over a year, and I haven't gone off and freaked out on my ISP is...
Have an E1000 router, Samsung Blu Ray (for Netflix). At night watching Netflix is not possible with all the rebuffering and drop in picture quality. So we took the wireless laptop and set it next to the Blu Ray and started the same movie on both. The laptop played without a problem and the Blu-Ray kept rebuffering. I will probably try to hard wire the DVD but to make it permanent, will be a real pain. Having wireless would be much better.
I have a Mac and a PC in my home wireless network. ATT Uverse provides me with 16 MB/s internet access. I use the ATT wireless modem/router.With the Mac my download speed is almost 16 MB/s so everything seems working well. With my PC (WIN XP) the download speed is limited to less than 6 MB/s. I know that there is a way to allow my PC to speed up but I do not know how.
When I use chrome or firefox or another internetbrowser my internetspeed gets really slow but when i download throught torrents i get my normal speed. My regular internetspeed is 8Mbit/s and now it have slow down to 1,5Mbit/s. I just reformatted the whole computer after hours trying to solve my problem but without any sucsess.
every devices on my network started having really slow speed. It takes long time for each to navigate thru sites. Normally every device gets around 20-25 MBPS in the network. And i have desktop, laptop, iphone, tablet on the network. I've been trying to fix this for whole day yesterday and today and no luck.how to fix this?.I ran some things from this site and the results are here.
I've been gaming all day and my ping has been extremely high. I figured it was someone in my house downloading something but now it's... 1 a.m. I checked my whole house and shut down everyone's computers so I'm positive no one is stealing my bandwidth.
Recently bought a Devolo DLAN200 AV Wireless N Starter Kit. Set up as instructed. Took a while to work out my router settings. The kit now works but is extremely slow to download from internet. Wireless signal is fine. But whether I connect to the wireless, or connect to the ethernet port of the Devolo adapter, it is very slow. Via ethernet, I can get to a speed test site, and it shows less than 0.5Mbs. This compares with 6Mbs if I connect to the router's ethernet or wireless. I have tried other settings on my router, including all combinations of channels, but there is no improvement. I have tried other plugpoints around the house, but no difference. Devolo support on the phone was no use.
This is the first PC I have ever built, but I built it with a buddy who is very experienced and everything went okay. The computer is maybe 3-4 weeks old now, everything is running fine, until today when I decided I wanted to try streaming some Diablo 3.This is when I discovered my upload speed was absolute garbage.I have verizon FIOS - I pay for 15/5, the download speed is always at 20+ mbps, I have never had any problems with it., but my upload speed is fluctuating between .34-1.5 mbps, changing every second.I know this is a problem with the computer because I brought in my old laptop, unplugged the ethernet from my new desktop, plugged it into the laptop in order to keep all variables the same, and it was getting 25/5 without any hesitation. When I was downloading the drivers for my mobo I installed something called Windows Firewall with Advanced Security(maybe that was with a windows update, im not sure).
I have an old Fujitsu siemens Amilo pa1510 that had an atheros ar5005g (wireless g) card in it.My internet line is 15/2 and the card has always maxed it out, but offcource its been slow on my local network. So I bought an cheap N replacement in the Atheros 5008.After putting it in and having IRQ problems(still ocurs on boot sometimes) I finaly have it working. The problem is just that the speeds wil not reach 15 anymore on internet, it varies between 1.5-7 on down speed tested on speedtest website. is there anyway to fix the problem? im curently using latest driver from atheroz website and running winxp 32.No other settings have been altered, and tried on 2 different routers.
My Download Speed was about 10mbps and i be came around 1-5kbps.Is there any software for internet connections like just choose your download and upload speed then restart your computer and your download and upload will be very fast then anything
I recently purchased a new HP ENVY dv6 laptop which runs on Windows 8. I've noticed a significant drop in wireless speed on my network compared to my previous laptop, a Sony VAIO, which runs on Windows Vista. I don't believe that it is my network's problem; when I ran Speedtests on my two laptops, side-by-side, the VAIO had a greater download speed. Both computers are also fully updated, including the drivers; the VAIO laptop is four years old, and the HP ENVY dv6 just came out of the factory two weeks ago.
