For some reason Youtube Videos are running extremely slow in Firefox. It has never been this slow, it lags so much when I even have a video on 360p. The worst part, it lags when advertisements load. I don't know why it's doing this, but I want to fix it somehow.
Yesterday, I edited the start up menu to make log ins a lot faster.
I have cable @ 15Mbps down, 2Mbps up. The cable line comes into the crawl space in my daylight basement. I have 3 Cat-5 cables running through the house. 1 to the TV downstairs, and then 1 each to 2 bedrooms on the second floor (one of which is my home office). In the home office, this Cat-5 is connected to a 24-port switch. I plug my printer, NAS, computers, etc into this switch.I have a WRT54G2 v1 that I was using as my Router/AP.I have a 1st & 3rd generation iPad. The iPad 3 plays YouTube videos in HD. About 6 weeks ago I started to get slow YouTube video playback on my iPad's. They would play a few seconds, then pause to buffer, etc. It used to be that videos started playing almost immediately and would never buffer.
Using Wifi Analyzer for Android, I noticed my neighborhood is saturated with 2.4Ghz wifi. So, I figured it must be that the 2.4Ghz band is saturdated and if I moved to a 5Ghz band, the YouTube buffering would be fixed.So, I purchased an E4200 (v1 I think) from Amazon. I bought this Router/AP because it supported the 5Ghz band. It also I connected it to my cable modem and setup everything. Still slow YouTube, and now YouTube videos are slow on my laptop (connected via ethernet). I still get ~15Mbps over ethernet or wifi using the speed test page provided by my ISP, but YouTube videos are VERY slow.
PC is connected through the router to the internet connection but internet cannot access the video from the YOUTUBE my pc operating system is Microsoft Windows Professional (5.1, build 2600) and processor is intel(R) pentium(R) 3.20GHz.

Both a gateway laptop and an HP laptop also work hardwired.When I use a Wireless Access point, it works fine with the laptops. However, when I use the Lenovo desktop connected directly by wire to the WAP, I only get "partial" internet access.I can ping yahoo, I can get a google page. But any "thick" content seems to be blocked.I can't play any youtube videos on the Lenovo via the WAP, or view websites with rich content.I get the youtube page, but it hangs on play. the laptops work wether wired to the router, or wired to the WAP. With any content including youtube.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI was able to play youtube and open the website but last 3-4 days every time i try to open the website it say's "Server not found Firefox can't find the server at www.youtube.com...". every other website is opening fine i tryed IExplorer, google chrome and it's the same, scaned for malware, no problems in hosts file, cleared cookies, fixed registry with CCleaner, and still have the problem. My pc info: Win 7 ultimate 32-bit SP1, intel pentium dual cpu E2200, 2.0GB RAM, NVIDIA GeForce 9500 GT, with avast anti virus.

View 10 Replies View RelatedI bought a D-Link DIR-655 hoping to get a faster connection over my Netgear WNR2000.I runs mostly fine apart from the occasional freezes and one other problem: youtube video's won't load. I can search and browse youtube, but when I click on the video, the page loads but the video just doesn't load. I can see the play/pause button and the circle telling use the video is loading. Then that's it. Nothing happens. When I plug back my WNR2000, Youtube videos load fine. Same thing on my roommate's laptop. I bought this router over a month ago so I can't return it, spending $80 on a piece of shit like is frustrating when living off a student budget. I'm just about to throw it out the window

It all started when I updated my DIR-655 to the newest firmware 2.07NA because I wanted to have an Open NAT for my PS3 because it was set on Strict and I wasn't able to fix it other than updating my router. I just purchased a Belkin N300 and it's advertised as being able to video chat as well as have two computers connected to it. I can't even watch youtube videos with just one laptop connected because the ads take 5 minutes to load. Is this normal behavior for this router? Do I need to upgrade to be able to Skype?

But on one of them which runs Windows 7 and MCAfee Antivirus I cannot watch any videos from Youtube. On the other one which runs Windows XP all videos are running great. I've check the firmware version and it is the last one. I've try to disable the firewall in McAfee and it still does not work.

"Hello, you either have JavaScript turned off or an old version of Adobe's Flash Player."
I checked my Internet Explorer options and I do have JavaScript enabled. I also downloaded the latest version of Adobe's Flash Player and then rebooted my laptop. Get the same the message.

I have no idea what i'm getting from my ISP (who is orange) but it'll probably be 20Mbps. I am using a homeplug, and there are a five wireless devices on the network.

When I plugin with an ethernet cable to the router, I have no problems and I get the full 15mbps speed when doing speed tests and downloads. IE, Firefox, and Chrome all work fine.When I use the wireless, I only get 5mbps in IE and Firefox, but I get the full 15mbps again when using Chrome.I'm starting to wonder if there are shared Windows components being used by Firefox and IE, but not being used by Chrome. I have reinstalled my wireless adapter driver and it didn't affect anything. I've disabled Windows Firewall, checked for malware, confirmed no proxy was setup in Internet Options, on and on...
The problem is- in the last week our internet has been very slow and has never been like this in the 4 years that we have had it, we havent moved or disturbed any wires or the router or changed any settings, im thinking its a problem with the hub it self because its the laptop, pc, mobile phones (wifi) and bbc iplayer on the wii that are affected which all worked fine upto a week ago and now we cant play videos as they just keep buffering the wii say it cannot play due to insufficent bandwidth? And the internet on the laptop and pc is very slow now and so is wifi on my mobile and cannot play videos on that either, ive tried resetting the hub and changed the channel but still no change.

Type in facebook and you get an invalid URL and would have to reset the router to get it to work. Now I bought a new Cisco router and am regretting it. The n900 was a pretty penny and now ALL my videos are always buffering. I have several computers connected, but not active. The internet is painfully slow with the new router, but lightning fast with out it.
Currently using my laptop secuirty settings are IPv6/ and 4 SPI Firewall Protection: Enabled WPA2/WPA mixed mode.
I have tried everything: Rebooting, up to date firmware, resetting, What should I do next? Disable some of its advanced features? Cisco is earning a bad rap with me if a router that boasts high internet speeds makes all my videos buffer and load painfully slow. Let alone getting through all the commercials on the internet now.

The internet might be super slow at first, then drop entirely to where it says "you are not connected to the internet," then after not changing anything it will have a normal connection speed for a few minutes before repeating this cycle again. I have a macbook pro that I've had for two years connected to my wireless internet, and it has never had a problem. Even now it runs as usual on the wireless internet. I also have two ps3s that are working fine on the wireless, so I know it's not the router or signal.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have 3 laptops, an ipod and an Xbox connected wirelessly to my router. I have no troubles with either of them but one laptop which runs really slow through wi-fi. I have been reading on people with similar examples and here are some stuff I noticed.
1. The laptop is new and I ran it as a virus check with no viruses
2. I did notice two wifi adapters as follows. Microsoft Virtual WiFi Miniport Adapter and Microsoft Virtual WiFi Miniport Adapter #2. They both show that they are working properly and I have checked for updates.
3. My router is a Netgear DGN1000 modem/router. It is also updated on firmware.
4. I have the right password etc.I do however have my xbox set up as DMZ and ports forwarded on the static IP for my xbox
My laptop has started to run slow on wifi - It used to speed test at around 13 meg consistantly but for the last couple of days its speed testing at between 0.5 - 1.5 meg on wifi If i plug in the ethernet it speed tests 13+meg the wireless router seems all ok as all my other devices still run at full speed, Iphone, blackberry,xbox etc

View 14 Replies View RelatedI recently purchased a new laptop, the HP Envy 14 Beats Edition (i5 processor, 6GB ram) and the internet has been working great (Verizon Fios, MI424WR modem) until yesterday. My internet at that point went incredibly slow all of a sudden, on both firefox and internet explorer. I eventually managed to transfer over some antivirus/spyware/malware software, and found that I had the msiexec.exe trojan, among other trojans (or installers?) on the system. I've deleted what I could find. But, with such slow internet, I couldn't update any of the antivirus software, and eventually did a system restore to out-of-the-box conditions. Using a new internet connection (free wifi at a store), I easily downloaded AVG, Malwarebytes, and Spybot, all of which declared my computer clean. However, upon connecting again to my home internet connection, things ran really slow again.

My wife and daughters computers, which are wireless, see now slowdown. My computer is connected to the router thru the ethernet connection. The previous computer using win xp - 32, plugged into the same router had no unusual speed problems. I did turn off the windows 7 firewall.
