ive been able to be on the internet on my laptop easily it would stay connected but since yesterday all the sudden i cant get on it? it says that its not connected and there are no internet connections available.

View 1 Replies View RelatedTwo days ago I booted my laptop and found that I'm not able to connect to the internet via LAN. It didn't detect a connection, even though my cable was plugged in. It was able to detect the wifi networks from my neighbors, but that's not an option, i need the LAN. I changed absolutely nothing,nno updates, downloads, ... It just came out of nowhere.I already eliminated a cable problem, the laptop from my roommate was able to connect without a problem.When I plug the cable in mine, the lights on the port flicker, making me believe that it's not a problem with my port either.it's definitely a computer problem, but I'm not sure if it's my computer or my network adapter that's being a PITA.When I go to the Device Manager, the network adapter (broadcom 802.11g) is fine, no red x or yellow exclamation point. i have already tried turning it on and off, and uninstalling and then rebooting, no avail.

However, both connections will still be separate and not combined:If I had to transfer big files, then I could do this on network A.Now, I want to use network B for other "normal" internet use so that the transfer of files in network A gets the maximum speed since there is no interference with anything else.I have to let the computer know somehow that there are two connections used simultaneously. I also have to setup what programs use what connection. Xbox live connected via through the netgear router(access point), works great. Now i just recently bought a power cord for an old laptop, charged it, working fine. Its a Compaq laptop, with a vista OS. My problem is not finding the router and/or connecting to it. I just cant seem to access the internet. It shows local connection only with an unidentified network, but it shows my routers name(LOTUS). There is alittle red X in-between the unidentified network and the internet. I pulled off the ip config/all on the vista laptop.

I received a new hard drive along with recovery discs from dell yesterday. They told me the new drive would be blank and I would have to run the discs. Not a problem. Installed the OS along with the drivers that had check marks next to them.
Today I plug in my home internet and it won't work. Unplug it and turn the wireless back on and it gets online just fine.
I have a Dell and a Sony Vaio. My Dell is connected and works fine.My Sony cannot connect. It picks up the router but cant connect.

I can reset the internet, get about 10mins before it disconnects again. We have in total, 3 PC's, 3 laptops that use the internet. It's fine whenever that laptop is not on. I have tried the method of giving everything it's own IP incase it's an issue, but no change. Also tried the resetting anything simultanously etc.
