Home Network :: Connect To 2 Internet Connections Simultaneously

Jul 3, 2011

I'd like to use 2 internet connections at the same time.Assuming there are two internet networks.Network A and Network B (both are either wireless OR one is wireless and one is wired OR both are wireless). So, now I want to use BOTH internet connections simultaneously. However, both connections will still be separate and not combined:If I had to transfer big files, then I could do this on network A.Now, I want to use network B for other "normal" internet use so that the transfer of files in network A gets the maximum speed since there is no interference with anything else.I have to let the computer know somehow that there are two connections used simultaneously. I also have to setup what programs use what connection. E.g., IE uses network a and Firefox uses network b, program "x" also uses network b, etc.I would use two network card/USB Wifi Adapers so that each network card/wifi adapter can connect to one network.

Comcast Business Internet Upload / Download Simultaneously

Dec 22, 2011

I just got installed a business class internet service installed. Got the 25/5 line and when I perform the speed tests I get well above that with the speed boost on the lines. When I am downloading large files I am getting a constant 22-25 down and when I am uploading files I get the 5 up.... But I can't do both at the same time. What happens if my uploads kill my download speed so if I am uploading a file and taking up my 5 up it makes my download speeds about 2-3.. Comcast is saying that this is how the network works and I just don't want to accept that at this time as I have other internet providers that don't work this way and I get a true up/down at the same time. Unfortunately at this location that I am dealing with Comcast is the only choice.

As I'm testing the topology, I configured two switches (representing the sites) at each end with a VTP domain. VTP works while the switches are connected directly with eachother, but it won't work with the bridges in the middle. [code]

Linksys WRT54GS2 Router - Wireless Internet Not Working With Two Devices Simultaneously?

Aug 2, 2012

I have a Linksys WRT54GS2 router, a PC (Windows XP) and a laptop (Windows 7 Ultimate 32 bit).I have been using this router for 3 months. I was able to use the internet on both devices simultaneously until now. But suddenly since yesterday it only works for one device at a time, not both.

If I connect to the router then I can access the internet only from the laptop. To use the internet from the PC, I have to power off the router, type in run "netsh int ip reset resetlog.txt", and restart the PC. But as the router is off, the internet is inaccessible on the laptop.

While router is on, the PC shows limited or no connectivity.

I tried reseting the router 2-3 times.

On the laptop it sometimes shows "IP address conflict has been detected", even though the IP addresses of the devices were not the same. The IP address of the PC shows 169.X.X.X (when the router is on), whereas the ISP's IP addresses start with 124.X.X.X.

LAN Not Showing Up In Network Connections - Cannot Connect To The Internet?

Nov 25, 2012

Two days ago I booted my laptop and found that I'm not able to connect to the internet via LAN. It didn't detect a connection, even though my cable was plugged in. It was able to detect the wifi networks from my neighbors, but that's not an option, i need the LAN. I changed absolutely nothing, nno updates, downloads, ... It just came out of nowhere.I already eliminated a cable problem, the laptop from my roommate was able to connect without a problem. When I plug the cable in mine, the lights on the port flicker, making me believe that it's not a problem with my port's definitely a computer problem, but I'm not sure if it's my computer or my network adapter that's being a PITA.When I go to the Device Manager, the network adapter (broadcom 802.11g) is fine, no red x or yellow exclamation point. i have already tried turning it on and off, and uninstalling and then rebooting, no avail.

Cisco Firewall :: 5510 Split Traffic Between VPN And Internet Using Different ISPs

Aug 25, 2011

What we are trying to accomplish here use two ISP's (one cable and one T1), use the Cable line for site-to-site VPN and use T1 line for all internet traffic. We currently use the following configuration: Cisco 2820 routers terminating the T1 -> HP switch -> Cisco AS 5510 port 0 -> port 1 to LAN switch (Nortel 5510)We want to force all VPN traffic (using subnets -,, etc) through a cable connection, perhaps on port 2 of the ASA, then all non VPN traffic goes to the T1.

Cisco WAN :: 2800 Load Balance Internet Multiple ISPs

Jan 9, 2010

what you're doing to load balanace internet traffic?  I'm interested in load balancing internet traffic (outbound -AND- INBOUND) using multiple (at least 2) ISPs.  Some of the methods I have used in the past have certain weaknesses.. basic DNS load balancer (relies on multiple IP addresses per host), OER/PFR (ability to control INbound is limited unless complex configuration and coopearation with ISPs)...  This is kind of a broad open ended question.. It seems like something that would be a common issue and am wondering what other are doing with the capabilities 2800, 2900, 3800, 3900 series routers..

Cisco VPN :: ASA 5510 With Dual ISPs Split Traffic Between VPNs And Internet

Jul 1, 2011

I need to know how to setup my ASA with dual wan links. 1 is 10/10 fiber, other will be a 50/5 Cable Wideband link. The 10/10 fiber is currnetly being used for VPN's and Internet, (about 20 point to point IPSEC vpn's currently).
I want to add the Wideband link and use the "Tunneled (Default gateway for VPN traffic)", feature for the current fiber link and the new Wideband link for any other internet traffice. I tried this however as soon as I set my fiber link to "Tunneled (Default gateway for VPN traffic), I lost all connectivity.
I also setup my "VPN" link with the "tunneled" option and my "INTERNET" link with a default route to the internet. This would only let me ping internet sites from the ASA device but not from client computers, also the VPN's would not come backup.
I have tried the sla setting with a DSL line for failover and that works good, i've since got rid of the DSL and want to utilize 2 wan links for different purposes/traffic.
ASA 5510, SSM-10      1GB RAM
ASA version                8.4(1)
ASDM Version            6.4(3)
Context Mode            Single
FW Mode                  Routed

Cisco WAN :: 2 ISPs / 2811 Router - Internet Access To LAN / VPN Access To VLANs?

May 31, 2012

I have 2 ISPs terminating on 2 FE ports on my 2811 router.ISP1 had always been here, used for the following:Internet access to LAN usersInternet access with public IP mapping to servers in different security zones (VLANS)Site to Site VPN tunnels to 3rd party partnersRemote VPN access to 3rd party partners We recently got a second ISP, mainly for the following:Internet access and public IP mapping to servers on seperate security zones (VLANS)Site to Site VPN tunnels to 3rd party partners as above, but different hosts So far, ISP1 and all the above service have worked based on the config below. However, having added ISP2, I have not been able to successfully create the site-to-site VPN tunnels.

version 12.4
ip source-route
ip cef
ip name-server
ip name-server
ip inspect WAAS enable

Whenver I try to establish a tunnel on SDM_CMAP_2 and run a test using CCP, I get 2 failure reasons:

1. The peer must be routed through the crypto map interface. The following peer(s) are  routed through non-crypto map interface -

2. The tunnel traffic destination must be routed through the crypto map interface. The following destinations are routed through non-crypto map interface -
The tunnels on SDM_CMAP_1 are all active Do I need to include a default route for the second ISP on the router? If so, how do I get this done? When I tried it, I had loops on the user LAN segment of the network.

Using Wired And Wireless Simultaneously

For Internet I use Xfinity Wifi and connect wirelessly. However As soon as I connect the wire to the laptop the internet connectivity is lost.It says access is local only.I have no idea why it is going to the gateway after Xfinity wifi.If I disconnect the wire the internet is connected immediately. However I want to be able to see the web as well as other computers on my local network simultaneously. I tried to google several sites but could not find anyone with a similar setup (One without outside connection and one with internet connectivity)

Wifi And Ethernet Do Not Work Simultaneously?

I am running windows xp on an old desktop, I am using a wiresless usb adapter to utilize a wifi connection available in the dorms. to connect, i have to enable proxy on the browser I am also using an Ethernet connection via a LAN cable, which does not need a proxy to run

The issue is that although i browse freely using both connections simultaneously by using two different browsers, with the proxy setting enabled in one and disabled in the other, i can not run uTorrent when both connections are enabled. i have to go into network neighbourhood and disable the wifi connection, and only then does downloading start. the university does not allow bit-torrent downloading on the wifi connection so i have to use the ethernet.

Computer And All Connected LAN Devices Freeze Simultaneously

Jun 10, 2012

It started happening back in around November, my sister and my computer would start freezing occasionally, slurring the audio into a robotic sound, eventually to come to.It gradually got worse, and I assumed it was a graphics card problem since it would freeze ONLY SOMETIMES and say that the graphics driver stopped working and has recovered. It usually didn't say that, though.Lately though, I noticed that when it would freeze sometimes the internet would go out for some connected devices, such as the Xbox 360. The only computer that was NEVER affected by this is the one connected directly by Ethernet to the Netgear router, (every other device is WiFi.)

Sometimes even, my sister and mine would freeze simultaneously. It was a sort of rare occurrence, though.I very lately started to notice that it would freeze when trying to load internet components with larger amounts of data, such as server console logs, Flash videos, and Soundcloud players. What threw me off is that it would sometimes freeze in programs like FL Studio or Windows Media Player... It's possible I guess that the programs were unrelated and what caused the freeze is SOMETHING sending/receiving corrupt packets.

Cisco WAN :: 2811 - No Access To Both Links Simultaneously?

Apr 21, 2011

We suffer some problems with our remote 2811, that has two WAN links (two different ISP) - we cannot get access to both of WAN at the same time.
At first, the aim was to load balance the traffic between wan links: at first we tried to use OER, but users complained about instable internet connectionthen we tried PBR + NAT Generelly we have just the same scheme as [URL] : dual WAN linksPPTPPPPoE over ADSLequal static routesNAT using route map The problem itself: When both links are up,  the 1st WAN is pingable, and the 2nd is notWhen the 1st link goes down the 2nd becomes pingable and accessible and vice versa. When I disabled the CEF, the 1st was still pingable and the 2nd became pingable too, but very unstable

Ubuntu 6400 How To Get Wireless LAN And 10 / 100 Running Simultaneously

Oct 13, 2011

There seems to be issues with wireless drivers: I don't have the cleanest solution but I run this script: [code]

Is there any way I can have them running simultaneously? From reading around I believe it's possible but not quite sure what I'm doing wrong.

Cabling / Cards :: Run Wired And Wireless Connectivity Simultaneously?

Aug 30, 2012

I have 300Mbps PCI wireless LAN network card which I installed in my PC and until today I was connected to my Sky router wirelessly. I also have a wireless Brother all in one connected to the same PCI card.

The engineer who installed my Sky fibre broadband told me in order to achieve maximum speeds I should connect via an ethernet cable to my Sky router as wireless could be a lot slower so I bought one and connected up and disabled the wirelss card. All good so far until I noticed my Brother all in one was complaining about no network ID.

My problem is that I can't seem to run my printer wirelessly as well as run my broadband wired. If I enable the wireless adapter the printer works but my broadband is wireless as well and the wired connection is disabled.
