View 1 RepliesI'd like to use 2 internet connections at the same time.Assuming there are two internet networks.Network A and Network B (both are either wireless OR one is wireless and one is wired OR both are wireless). So, now I want to use BOTH internet connections simultaneously. However, both connections will still be separate and not combined:If I had to transfer big files, then I could do this on network A.Now, I want to use network B for other "normal" internet use so that the transfer of files in network A gets the maximum speed since there is no interference with anything else.I have to let the computer know somehow that there are two connections used simultaneously. I also have to setup what programs use what connection. E.g., IE uses network a and Firefox uses network b, program "x" also uses network b, etc.I would use two network card/USB Wifi Adapers so that each network card/wifi adapter can connect to one network.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI just got installed a business class internet service installed. Got the 25/5 line and when I perform the speed tests I get well above that with the speed boost on the lines. When I am downloading large files I am getting a constant 22-25 down and when I am uploading files I get the 5 up.... But I can't do both at the same time. What happens if my uploads kill my download speed so if I am uploading a file and taking up my 5 up it makes my download speeds about 2-3.. Comcast is saying that this is how the network works and I just don't want to accept that at this time as I have other internet providers that don't work this way and I get a true up/down at the same time. Unfortunately at this location that I am dealing with Comcast is the only choice.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a Linksys WRT54GS2 router, a PC (Windows XP) and a laptop (Windows 7 Ultimate 32 bit).I have been using this router for 3 months. I was able to use the internet on both devices simultaneously until now. But suddenly since yesterday it only works for one device at a time, not both.
If I connect to the router then I can access the internet only from the laptop. To use the internet from the PC, I have to power off the router, type in run "netsh int ip reset resetlog.txt", and restart the PC. But as the router is off, the internet is inaccessible on the laptop.
While router is on, the PC shows limited or no connectivity.
I tried reseting the router 2-3 times.
On the laptop it sometimes shows "IP address conflict has been detected", even though the IP addresses of the devices were not the same. The IP address of the PC shows 169.X.X.X (when the router is on), whereas the ISP's IP addresses start with 124.X.X.X.
I have a local wired network without the internet connectivity. It is just 3 computers connected to a router with hard wire (Not connected to outside world). For Internet I use Xfinity Wifi and connect wirelessly. However As soon as I connect the wire to the laptop the internet connectivity is lost.It says access is local only.I have no idea why it is going to the gateway after Xfinity wifi.If I disconnect the wire the internet is connected immediately. However I want to be able to see the web as well as other computers on my local network simultaneously. I tried to google several sites but could not find anyone with a similar setup (One without outside connection and one with internet connectivity)
View 3 Replies View RelatedI am running windows xp on an old desktop, I am using a wiresless usb adapter to utilize a wifi connection available in the dorms. to connect, i have to enable proxy on the browser I am also using an Ethernet connection via a LAN cable, which does not need a proxy to run
The issue is that although i browse freely using both connections simultaneously by using two different browsers, with the proxy setting enabled in one and disabled in the other, i can not run uTorrent when both connections are enabled. i have to go into network neighbourhood and disable the wifi connection, and only then does downloading start. the university does not allow bit-torrent downloading on the wifi connection so i have to use the ethernet.
situation is a little bit different than the other gyus. I have a private network of 3 laptops connected with wire to a local router (Not connected to the internet)Whenever I need internet I connect to Xfinity Wan Wirelessly. However in order to do that I have to disconnect wire first. Otherwise both connections show "Local only" The moment I disconnect the wire the Xfinity connection shows "Local and Internet" How can I access Xfinity and my wired laptops simultaneously
View 2 Replies View RelatedIt started happening back in around November, my sister and my computer would start freezing occasionally, slurring the audio into a robotic sound, eventually to come to.It gradually got worse, and I assumed it was a graphics card problem since it would freeze ONLY SOMETIMES and say that the graphics driver stopped working and has recovered. It usually didn't say that, though.Lately though, I noticed that when it would freeze sometimes the internet would go out for some connected devices, such as the Xbox 360. The only computer that was NEVER affected by this is the one connected directly by Ethernet to the Netgear router, (every other device is WiFi.)
Sometimes even, my sister and mine would freeze simultaneously. It was a sort of rare occurrence, though.I very lately started to notice that it would freeze when trying to load internet components with larger amounts of data, such as server console logs, Flash videos, and Soundcloud players. What threw me off is that it would sometimes freeze in programs like FL Studio or Windows Media Player... It's possible I guess that the programs were unrelated and what caused the freeze is SOMETHING sending/receiving corrupt packets.
We suffer some problems with our remote 2811, that has two WAN links (two different ISP) - we cannot get access to both of WAN at the same time.
At first, the aim was to load balance the traffic between wan links: at first we tried to use OER, but users complained about instable internet connectionthen we tried PBR + NAT Generelly we have just the same scheme as [URL] : dual WAN linksPPTPPPPoE over ADSLequal static routesNAT using route map The problem itself: When both links are up, the 1st WAN is pingable, and the 2nd is notWhen the 1st link goes down the 2nd becomes pingable and accessible and vice versa. When I disabled the CEF, the 1st was still pingable and the 2nd became pingable too, but very unstable
I am running Ubuntu 10.10 on a Dell Inspiron 6400.I am able to get 10/100 Ethernet card and Wireless Lan working independently. If I restart/reboot my eth0 turns starts up fine.If I then manually start my wireless connection (eth1), eth0 disappears.
There seems to be issues with wireless drivers: I don't have the cleanest solution but I run this script: [code]
Is there any way I can have them running simultaneously? From reading around I believe it's possible but not quite sure what I'm doing wrong.
I have 300Mbps PCI wireless LAN network card which I installed in my PC and until today I was connected to my Sky router wirelessly. I also have a wireless Brother all in one connected to the same PCI card.
The engineer who installed my Sky fibre broadband told me in order to achieve maximum speeds I should connect via an ethernet cable to my Sky router as wireless could be a lot slower so I bought one and connected up and disabled the wirelss card. All good so far until I noticed my Brother all in one was complaining about no network ID.
My problem is that I can't seem to run my printer wirelessly as well as run my broadband wired. If I enable the wireless adapter the printer works but my broadband is wireless as well and the wired connection is disabled.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have an HP W7 (Home Premium) PC.
I have a wired connection (on-systemboard network interface) to a Belkin 54g router, but the router is not physically connected to the internet (no ethernet cable out to a cable modem/whatever). The router connects several necessary peripherals - mostly wirelessly to the main PC and another W7 PC.) All this stuff worked prior to a move to a new location.
There is freely accessible Wifi in range (public library - wherein I could concievably carry the whole PC and use their WiFi with their blessing).
I attached a USB Wifi adapter to the PC to avail myself of the free service, but W7 will not allow the Wifi adapter to be seen until I detach the ethernet wire. Then it will allow me to see the available network, and connect.
How does W7 (or the system board) look at network? Are they (onboard NIC and USB) mutually exclusive? Do I need a separate ethernet adapter card or a separate USB adapter card to create a different "channel" that would allow the two networks to coexist?
Can the camera support multiple destinations simultaneously?
In testing set-up for ftp and email, while observing results in a browser on the Mac, and also MyDlink app on an iPad, I observe that a few jpegs get sent to email, a few to ftp, and MyDlink keeps "timing out". My Mac is wired gigabit ethernet to the router, and the wireless LAN is 802.11n.
Maybe it can't handle multiple destinations?
Does MyDlink cause continued transmissions at the video frame rate set in the setup panel, even if no one is connected to look.

I want to connect to the Internet small office where docsis (internet over tv cable) is used as WAN.For similar tasks but other WANs (adsl, dial-up) I used 800 series. But now I can't find anything in this series to solve my issue. There is 815 but it has no wi-fi.
I can use cable modem that my ISP gave to me: this modem acts as bridge so I can use router with FE-based WAN but it is better to have one device instead of two.
I suddenly can't connect to the internet using IE or Firefox every time I try I get the message "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage". My connection on my wireless picks up great and shows signal strength as excellent. I took it to a place that was offering free check ups and they said that I caught a virus which I never seen any sign of catching a virus when it worked and that it had wiped out one of my hard drives and they could fix it for $229.00. I don't have that kind of money so I don't know what to do.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI come here today with a problem that has been plaguing this laptop forever and a day. You see, about two or so years ago on this very laptop, it was just another day where I booted up my laptop and was going to get a good day of wasting time on the internet underway. I tried to open Firefox, and I got prompted to download an apparent update for the browser. Obviously I went along with it because it seemed pretty routine and identical to how Firefox had updated in the past.
After the update was all done and dusted, I found myself unable to connect to the internet through Firefox. I would just get a constant stream of "Unable to connect" messages. I thought it might have been a problem on my end since back then I had rather wishy washy internet. So I let it settle for a while. Later on that day I talked to a few of my buddies over Xbox Live and asked if they'd had any similar issues with the new Firefox update because at the time, we all used it and hadn't quite jumped ship to Chrome just yet. But no matter who I asked, I always got the same response "I didn't get any update." Which as you can imagine, confused me quite thoroughly.
