View 4 RepliesI have a question about the new nat implementation in an ASA 8.4. when I perform a "show nat" I get the following result:
1 (outside) to (inside) source dynamic any NAT-SSL-VPN_172.30.100.250 destination static 00B_172.30.100.0_24 00B_172.30.100.0_24
translate_hits = 26, untranslate_hits = 0
2 (inside) to (outside) source static LAN-HOST_172.30.100.11_LNX01 WAN-HOST_84.199.44.2_32_LNX01 service TCP-80-HTTP TCP-80-HTTP
translate_hits = 0, untranslate_hits = 0
Is it possible to change the order of the nat rules without removing and reapplying the rule on position 1 ? (both rules have to stay in section 1)

View 8 Replies View RelatedWe have a network setup on a Domain. Yesterday all computers were talking to one another correctly and were visible. We had a Linksys e1500 Wireless router when everything was running smoothly. We upgraded to a Linksys e3200 and swapped it into the system pulling the e1500 out.
No settings or configurations were changed on the server or any of the client machines, but as soon as the e3200 was installed and put in place all client machines on the network were visible to one another but the server was not.
After scratching my head and not having a suitable answer I decided to just put the e1500 back into our infrastructure and remove the e3200. Imagine my dismay when the server was still missing but all other computers were visible on the domain. Obviously the e3200 wasn't and isn't the issue, but it was literally the only change we made to our system in that period between... visible server and no visible server.
Anything I can check for a server running Windows Server 2008 R2 Standard that has mysteriously vanished without explanation when it has been working fine for 4 weeks prior without fault?
We have a Comcast business class cable modem with a static IP address. There are two devices hardwired to it; a server and a Linksys WRT610N, The server is hardwired to it with port forwarding set for ports 21, 80 and 5900. It works perfectly and can be reached as intended by the outside world but not by our own network. Our Linksys WRT610N is hardwired to the modem. All computers on the wireless network see each other and can access the internet perfectly. So all seems well enough. BUT, no computer on our network can reach our server. Using the domain name or VNC connections from inside our system results in time outs and no connection.

I am wondering how difficult it is to add a computer to the network so it can log into our domain and all that.I just had to reformat one of the computers and would normally wait for our network guy to do it remotely but If i could do it myself it would save time (and money). I am already an administrator and basically i just need to make it so the log in prompt when windows starts has our office network listed as the domain instead of jus the local log in. It is a dell running windows 7 64 bit.
View 5 Replies View RelatedMy old dLink DIR-655 router could serve as an NTP server for all the computers on my network. It would get the time from the dLink NTP time source and allow me to sync all the systems on my home network off the DIR-655.
I had to replace it with this new E4200 but don't see an option for it to act as a time source for my internal network.
Can this router be used for this function?

My IP address is set to 'obtain IP address automatically' but my DNS is set to a preferred DNS by the provider. I have to set this on my notebook as well in order to access internet. If I set it to obtain DNS server automatically, internet stops working on that machine.roblem is when I try to access internet through my phone it does not work, because I have no option to enter a DNS server there. Internet works fine on my phone using another wifi router where the obtain dns address automatically is enabled.

View 3 Replies View RelatedOne of the companies I work for uses a DIR 655 router. I'm having some trouble using FTP there.Initially the problem was that FTP software would hang or give errors when trying to change directories on the remote server. This problem went away when I switched from passive FTP to Active FTP.Now using Active FTP, the files appear to be uploaded with no problem. However, on closer inspection, the uploaded file has 0 bytes on the remote server.
We are uploading from a Windows 7 machine and uploading to our Web Hosting Company's Windows Server. I've actually written the one piece of software that is showing this problem but it uses a widely known open-source FTP library written in .NET. I've never encountered either of these problems with my software until I encountered the DIR-655.The other FTP software client I've tried is FileZilla. It has the same problem, 0 bytes files when using Active FTP.
One solution I've seen on DSLReports was to disable the Stateful Packet Inspection part of the firewall (known as SPI). This is really not a good solution for two reasons. Number one, I do not have access to the router's firmware/ configuration. Number 2, the company has a DIR-655 because they want the additional security. If we're going to disable SPI it just defeats one of the major purposes of owning the DIR-655.
i see there is an option to "allow password change" or "force password change" for guest roles in the NGS. But when i created a guest account using this guest role, after webauthentication , there is no prompt to change password. Is this the intended behaviour or is there anything else that i need to configure. Looking at it, i am not sure how the NGS would allow a "guest user" to really overwrite the password by allowing password change. ? is that not a security risk as well for the NGS ? my setup has 5508 anchor controller and NGS communicating via RADIUS.
