I am using a USB modem to go online when i'm not in a wifi zone.. The internet speed is very slow (512 kbps) so I configured my browsers to connect via proxy to boost the speed which is now (2 Mbps)..Everythings working fine except that I cannot connect to SSL sites, e.g Gmail, Facebook, Ebay.

Sites are completely random, some examples are GamersLegacy.it - Starcraft 2, Diablo 3, Dota2, World of Warcraft, League of Legends, Inferno eSports - Homepage (videogames forum)FINECO: Conto, Investimenti, Trading, Prestiti e Mutui - Banca diretta, online o con promotore (bank) Sigma Draconis
1) Cleaned laptop with Ad-aware and Malwarebytes, found 2 issues but didn't fix the problem.
2) Closed firewall, nothing either.
3) Canghed/flushed DNS, tried both openDNS and GoogleDNS, nothing.
4) She CAN access those sites, she has same connection to the router (via wireless) and she has same OS (Windows Seven). I think that means it's my problem, not a router one.
5) Tried to lower MTU settings in my wireless connection as I read that could be the problem, nothing new here.
6) Here comes the tricky part. I tried to access those sites via proxy (Ninja Cloak | Fast, free, anonymous web browsing with NinjaCloak.com) and they actually work!

I am not able to connect to some websites: the sites that are unavailable can not be accessed on any device connected to my home network (wireless or plugged directly into the router). I know that the problem does not lie with the sites themselves, since they are working for other people, and I know the sites are not blocking my IP, because when I reset the router, the problem sites become accessible but other sites become inaccessible (on all devices). The problem isn't the router either: I've tried two, and the same problem has arisen with both. Moreover, I have established that the problem does not lie with DNS resolution. I have repeatedly flushed the DNS cache; DNS lookups work fine on the problem sites, but when I ping the given IP addresses I am getting some packet loss (not necessarily 100% loss). When I use a proxy, I can access the sites without any problem.
View 12 Replies View RelatedIm on BT broadband, and have 2 phonelines in my house. the broadband was on phoneline A. However, to save money we shut down phoneline A and switched to phoneline B. However, the signal quality on B has dropped like a stone. The Downstream speeds are normal, but the download speed is 0.24, compared to the 2.05 it was before.
Yesterday i rang BT to tell about the problem, and after 30 minutes of 'checking' they decided to put our broadband on a higher profile? and reassured me that this would sort our problem. Our downstream speeds now read 0.13. Its made the problem a lot worse.
Currently have wireless router to internet with pc's all connected in home network. Is it possible to put a cat5e/6 cable between two client PC's for a temporary boost in speed for for accessing shared files between these two machines.(i.e. 1Gbit rather than 56Mbit.)Both PC's would still want individual connections to the router and internet, but how do you make sure accessing shared files goe's through the faster ethernet cable rather than the router?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a trouble to implement dynamic QoS between two sites (Site A, and site B) across low speed WAN link (512k). On each site I have Cisco 1921 router. Most important app is Oracle. Because of slow speed WAN links, I want to avoid exact bandwith reservation for Oracle. I only reserve 5% bandwith for network control(icmp, ssh, telnet...) and want configure next Qos scenario:
1. If Oracle traffic exist on a network, it must have 70% of link speed guaranteed, all other apps (e.g mail, file share, ftp) use rest of the bandwith.
2. If there isn't Oracle traffic on a network, all other apps can use all available bandwith.
Issue descrtption:I used all Cisco guides, but when I implemented this on production it simply didn't work. There is no any significant improvement after implementing this (when I start network file sharing accross wan link, Oracle becomes etremly slow.).Here is configuration wich I trying to implement:

I figured the best way to do this is by setting the proxy on my router to the one I am running, but then I would need to have another connection to the computer running the proxy or else there would be an infinite loop ?? something like that. so:

MY ISP installed one router in my lab.for internet connectivity they mail me steps :connect your Laptop directly to gi0/3 port to check internet connectivity with public ip 1.1.1.x and Gateway 1.1.1.1 with subnet mask 255.255.255.240 after connection I surprised because I am able to access only google sites like gmail,google search etc. but I am able to ping/traceroute all sites.from browser I am able to access only google sites only.In Router no firewall no such access list.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI access the internet from my company�s LAN, which has a restrictive firewall, so I cannot request the admin to open any ports manually for me. Hence I use a software called your-freedom. This proxy software supports both http as well as socks 4 and 5 proxy (by entering the proxy IP 127.0.0.1 (localhost) and Port 8080 for http proxy OR 1080 for Socks Proxy), and I have successfully been using web browsers and some other softwares that support proxy/ allow proxy info to be entered to login/ connect to the internet. Your-Freedom also supports port forwarding.However, the softwares I intend to use do not have any options to enter proxy methods or proxy ports (as far as I have noticed). I have tried to proxify these 2 softwares using softwares such as SocksCap and Free Cap, but either they don�t work, or my settings in proxifying are not correct. I believe I will have to do port forwarding or proxify the softwares, but have been unable to do so in the correct manner.
Following is the info on the 2 softwares:
1.NOW Trading terminal:[FONT=Times New Roman]Normally when I start the NOW or Zerodha software, the software starts and I get a login screen, but under firewall conditions, I get the initial Splash screen but then the software stops with the error: [b][u]NOW Initialisation failed for Interactive Engine << os error>>.

Basically the software needs to connect to the internet using Port 443. I am also expected to keep ports 443, 41599 and 59598 open. software's requirement is available at Indiabulls Securities: Indiabulls Securities is a leading capital market company offering securities broking and advisory services, depository services, equity research services to its clients in India. (item no. 5).To confirm, while the software is unable to connect through port 443, you will get an error message: "Connection to Login Server could not be established" when you try to login with any random Username and Password.To know that the software is able to connect properly, you will get an error: "This User ID is not enabled to be used with this product".

Each time I enter the proxy address and everything and it doesn't pop up an error message or anything like that, it simply doesn't connect to the internet or give the opportunity to input my password and username.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a laptop that works perfectly fine when plugged into a network cable, but the wifi refuses to work. It pulls an ip, and everything looks good when I run ipconfig/all, but it can't even ping the router. All other computers on the network are working fine. I've flushed dns, set static IP and DNS, uninstalled/reinstall device, updated drivers, bios, and firmware, and even created a backup image of the computer and reloaded the os using the recovery partition. The event log doesn't tell me anything, and there are no flags in the device manager. I'm at a complete and total loss. I cannot figure this one out.The laptop is a Compaq Presario CQ50-142US. Vista 32bit OS. Everything was working perfectly fine before it got a virus. I ran through the standard procedures of AVG, Malwarebytes, TDSSKiller, and even resorted to Combofix, but somewhere along the line the wifi dropped off and will not come back.I even double checked the HOSTS file and IE proxy settings to ensure I wasn't crazy; although I know those should've affected the wired connect too.My last step is to either replace the wifi chip (which I don't think is the problem), or wipe it and load the os from scratch, but I don't have an oem disc since it has the recovery partition.

When my computer is hooked up to the cable model directly, i am able to connect to outlook.com just fine but when i go through my router, it can't connect to the site. I played with MTU (lower it by 10) all the way to 1300 but it didn't work.The problem started happening all the sudden without any changes in the cable modem, router or my computer.

I have a linux(fedora) which i use as a proxy. the proxy then connect to the router. the proxy also serves as my mail server (i use postfix). Problem is, since yesterday i discovered thta i cannot access the internet for any machine connected via the proxy (and any dhcp-assigned machines). As a result, even the webmail is not accessible from any machine.When i tried, i changed some computers so that they connect directly to the router -and they work fine for the internet. Problem is, I am still not able to access webmail.What could be the problem with the proxy.?(NB Postfix is running and http too is running).

On the one computer that is having problems I can connect to the site but then when I click on a link I get unable to connect then I can reload the page and some times it connects to the page. So as I am browsing through the site almost every time I click on a link I get unable to connect and have to keep reloading the page.

View 4 Replies View RelatedWe can't find the Linksys router's manual and have no clue what is causing our WiFi not to let us access certain websites. For example, we are unable to access the Microsoft, Target, our local Library, YouTube and some other ones that we find out about once it doesn't let us get on them. We thought it was an issue with Microsoft Security Essentials because we hadn't updated it correctly, but that was not it. The reason we know it is OUR WiFi because we can access the sites I mentioned above whenever we use our apt complex WiFi, so it is not our laptop. We have the same problem with this when using our wifi on our iTouch. I hope that all made sense (had to access this site with my phone.)

Since last Saturday, I am unable to access certain internet sites when at home. Strangely enough everything was fine before that. Went to bed around midnight local time and when I went to check those sites after work at around 3:30 pm local time I could not get on those sites. For some reason the pages just keep on endlessly loading, giving me only a blank page. What is also strange is that no computer in my house can access those sites. So it's not limited to one computer.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have inherited a sbs 2008 network where they have a SBS2008 server and Server2008 running as a terminal sever at the main office and they have 2 satellite offices. These offices all connect through router to router vpn tunnels. The main site is on 10.0.0 and dhcp is done by the sbs. Satellite site a is on 10.0.10 and dhcp is done by the vpn router and Satellite site b is on 10.0.5 and dhcp is also done by the vpn router. All client computers can run rdp to access shares / programs etc on the two servers but when trying to push out group policy, antivirus updates or even using remote control through the SBS2008 server it is hit or miss. DHCP records on the SBS server do not seem to update correctly, manually changing the ip address in DNS records results in warnings that the PTR record cannot be created.
So I am wondering if the configuration they currently have setup is correct. What might be stopping some but not all computers from updating, why I can connect to some but not all computers at site "a" but I am not able to remotely connect to any computers at site "b".Why I can do remote installs of Eset Endpoint Security on roughly 10% of the clients but the other 90% fail.
My only options for internet have been 56k or wireless USB modems. That is, until recently. We switched from the wireless USB modems to a wireless hotspot from US Cellular (Samsung SCH-LC11). However, ever since making the switch I've had problems accessing certain websites both on our PC and on my Macbook Pro. I can't connect to Invision Free (or any of its user-created forums) or [URL]. It happens with other, random sites as well. I tried manually changing DNS settings to Google's and another one (don't recall which) and it did allow me to access the site. However, once there, every other site started moving slowly and eventually the ones in question timed out as well.
View 12 Replies View RelatedI built a computer down at school in Utah, semester's over so I went back to Idaho for the summer. When I got here I seemed to stop being able to connect and load content from random sites. It gets a ping time out every time on the same random websites.

I can access these sites in Utah, so I called my ISP (frontier communications, previously verizon.) They flushed the DNS and checked that the modem wasn't to blame. I checked my host files and they're unaltered. After two hours on the phone they were stumped and hung up. [URL] loads fine, but it won't load the pictures which is odd.I'm not sure if it matters but I do have a 6 year old modem (westell 327w) that I think uses LAN g whereas my mobo (asrock extreme3 gen3) uses Realtek 8111E if i'm looking at the correct specs.one last thing to add would be that I am not able to access [URL], but I am able to access [URL]. Is there something all these websites have in common that cause them not to load?

I Diagnose Connection Problems, and this is what I get:"Windows could not automatically detect this network's proxy settings." On Chrome, I got a long list of things to do (check DNS settings, LAN Network, etc. have tried every and all checked/unchecked box they advise.) Bought it in 2006. I had thought about reseting it to factory settings but I never made restore disks and cannot find the toshiba reset stuff.
