What Does 192.168.1.1 Domain Mean In Netstat Command
Sep 28, 2011
I was using command prompt and typed in netstat -a to see opened ports on my XP computer. Then I found a weird result I have never seen it before.
It was Proto local address Foreign address state
TCP myXP computernameort# 192.168.1.1:domain Fin_Wait_2
What does this 192.168.1.1:domain mean? I believe 192.168.1.1 is my gateway router, but why it says :domain? few minutes later, I typed netstat -a in the command prompt to check it again, but it wasn't there anymore. does this mean my computer is on a domain network or something? As far as I checked, my computer doesn't seem to be on a domain network, but I just don't know what it means.
Is there any way to see on what ports a Cisco 5510router is listening to just like a "netstat -an" on UNIX would do. I could easily do a portscan to give me this report but would prefer having the information through a show command.
If you have a headsite with multiple EZVPN clients (PIX 501 & 515) connected in a star configuration can you have one remote site connect to another remote site using the intra-interface command and modifying the encryption domain on the EZVPN Server?
I've recently been taking an interest in netstat and learning how to use it,since a friend of mine has had trouble with his wifi he has speeds of 60mbps via Ethernet but wifi is slow i though that was odd and so tested my laptop on his wifi it seems i have the same issue so i'm wondering if my netstat is looking ok or if i have too many connections that shouldn't be there?
Earlier today I ran a netstat, I hadnt use the computer for almost an hour so I was suprised to see that multiple connections ('Time Wait') to my router 192.168.1.1 had been made. I dont understand how that could be since I had not logged into the router for some hours.
I have a Active Directory user that cannot log onto any computer that's on my organizational domain. The error is "You cannot log on because the logon method you are using is not allowed on this computer"
I cannot join domain it saying that "Computer name changes", A domain controller for the domain MyDomain could not be contacted.”. We have domain and workgroup, Actually first its already joined the domain, but I want to map the sharedrive inside the workgroup but I cannot map. Then I change to join workgroup. After I boot up I cannot log in with that user, I log in with administrator and the user is dissappear in the "User Account", but the profile inside document and setting still left surprise. I don't know why Now I create one more user, it can map to share drive also share folder. also can see all other network computer. But only left one is I cannot join the domain. I need this one because of we don't let our user using as administrator account. Before I testing this one I should backup, but now the time
Have a school which is split into 2 domains (and 2 different subnets). A logged in windows domain user from domain A needs to access a windows share on domain B. So I made a bat file on the pc in domain A to map a drive to the share on domain B, using the net use command but specifying login credentials of a domain user from domain B.The pc on domain A has it's hosts file edited so it can access the server on domain B which the share is on, ping and everything to this server works fine.I created a user in domain B with the corresponding login details as in the batch file, same un and pwd, it didn't work. If I specify the un and pwd in the batch file as the domain admin account on domain B, it works fine everytime. I'm pretty sure it's not a premissions thing as I have given the inital user that I specified in the batch file full control to the share permissions and security permissions on the share in question, it still wouldn't work.
All I can think of, but can't put into good technical words, is that this user I am specifying in the batch file not only needs to have access to the share itself but has to enter the other domain as well, would there be some protocol or something in which it does not have permissions to use effictively but the domain admin clearly does as it works fine for domain admin?
how do I pass from domain server , my network in our compant have ISA server and they close some website like face book , how can I pass over ISA server and use my websites?
What the most cost and time effective way to have an ip request return with another ip address from outside the WAN of the router.Specifically want to have an application request for example 192.168.1.121 and have 173.194.43.41 respond and communicate with the application instead. To make it a bit more interesting I'd like actually to set a table or config file to point to a domain name (url) which gets resolved as an ip address. (Port independent)To get a better understanding:one example might be typing in 192.168.1.121 in a browser and googles search engine comes up on the browser.another example might be typing in 192.168.1.121 in an ftp client and it hooks to an ftp server on the other side of the world which resolves to [URL]. I was looking at openwrt and tomato a little but I don't think I have such a complete grasp on how to do it in general. Being that it seems they are 2 different layers of the network model, I was told it can't be done but I don't know if I can believe that yet. Either by third party software or reprogramming the router or adding another device to the network.
In my office we are using two networks , one is 16.x.x.x and another on is 15.x.x.x . 16.x.x.x having the domain controller. 15.x.x.x is only connected with Workgroup. my question is it possible to add 15.x.x.x network system into 16.x.x.x network . I tried to add but it gave error message "Domain Controller can not be contacted". Generally we cant add it into the domain i know that. is there anyway to connect the 15.x.x.x systems into 16.x.x.x domain using router in the network.
i need to know when a computer shutdown. Is a windows xp. Is in another domain. I cant use VPN.somebody knows a software that alert me (example: by email)?

Dad's work laptop (XP) will no longer connect to any wifi at all. I removed the Intel PRO/set wireless utility so it would default to windows, enabled the Wireless Zero Config. It will acknowledge the network, attempt to get an IP address from the network for 1 minute, then it rotates down to the next network SSID in queue (I have 3 SSID's in our house). When it reaches the end, it just goes back to the "Windows is not connected to any wireless networks" message.
i configured a network domain out of which i connected several machines to a single user via 8 port switch. earlier the machine was working. now a days when i log on to server through user it allows me to log on. i am having two problem. i am no longer able to see the entire network on server. when i try to connect to server, the user machine asks user name and password which is quite routine. when i provide user name and password it gives the message that "logon unsuccessful the username and password are the same which you entered at user logon" when enter the user name and password of server it allows me to go inside. after rebooting the problem persists.
i am finding an ip address which is some hardware laptop or something that has got that ip from our doimain network while connected to our network. I dont know who it is and what it is and i always use Advanced Ip scanner and shut down any pcs manually with it and search for illegal hardwares connected to our lan but thisone is unable to be turned off it says unsuccessfull. Is there any software that allows me to kick out hardwares from our domain network?
I use TP link-150M wireless Lite N router .Model no :TL-WR740N.I use this route to connect WAN and the computer connect to the LAN port for the router.I use DHCP to allocate the IP address from router in below case.I can browse and ping url...But I cannot ping/browse url...[code]
I do not have wireless internet access and I get the message "There may be a problem with your Domain Name Server (DNS) configuration" when I try to diagnose the problem.I am on the internet by bypassing the router and having a wired connection from the modem to the computer right now. The problem started when I tried to get a second computer to work with the wireless connection (so with the computer I'm on right now, wireless worked a few days ago). [code]
My problem is everytime i go to dublin i have to change domain and ip for that lacation for local work, sometime its really pain to change back to our own domain whenever i come back to northern ireland office for connecting LAN.clicking can change different domain and ip for different location.
I have a couple of domains and servers. I want to forward my domains to my local IP's. Currently, my domains only forward to my WAN ip and then handled by ports. The problem is that I have a lot of the same applications using the same ports.
How do hosting companies do [URL[ For more clarification, This is kind of what I want to do - Domain.com --> 76.xx.xxx.xx --> 192.168.1.xxx ^My domain^ ^My WAN IP^ ^My LAN IP^
In 2004 I had a small home network of an NT4 domain controller with a 98 client and an XP client and an NT4 workstation laptop.ll was fine with the NT4 server providing a central store and print queue for a networked laser.Over time the laptop has been replaced with a Win7 (which will access the files but really doesn't the NT4 domain.) The Win98 has died and now finally the NT4 sever has gone too.I intend to revert now to a workgroup type set-up and forget about domains (I don't need it really) My problem is if I remove my XP machine from the domain I loose all the program menu, shortcuts desktop etc. which are stored under the domain user name login. Can I retrieve these or at least look at them so I can set up the local XP administrator account with all my familiar stuff.
We have almost 500 users and theres a network printer which people have to add eachone of them if they want to print and thats a procedure and takes time to show everyone all the steps. I wanted to know because we are using a domain which all pics are connected on that domain also the printer how is it possible to make it that the printer is shown on all automaticly?

I work in a manufacturing firm where we have offices at 3 different places say A,B and C. Our ERP server is at our original unit A from where we accessed it at B and C through remote desktop application till now. But now we have hired cloud services to connect to our main ERP server. We are in the process of installing the cloud application on our server at B during which we are encountering a problem. The cloud service provider is asking for domain name and password for the DSCP server based at the orignal unit (A) which no one in the company seems to have any idea about. Our IT guy at A has resigned and has not been replaced. Our IT guy at B is inexperienced and just following the instructions of service provider who is stuck at DSCP domain name and ID. How can I know the domain name and password of DSCP server so that the process moves on?
We relocated several servers to our DMZ and, without a domain controller in the DMZ (we plan to put a RODC in the DMZ later when we mvoe to Windows Server 2008), i punch through the standard recommended TCP ports. ports 88,135, 389, 53, etc.) to the internal network located DC. I am double hopping to the DC (I hope thast doesn't matter) as the DMZ located web server communicates to another IP address in the same DMZ network and then I NAT that address to the internal IP address of the DC. Everything seems to be working for the servers we moved to the DMZ but i think i don't have all the necessary TCP/UDP ports punched through because we have found that logging into the DMZ servers is taking an extended amount of time, sitting on the “applying settings” screen. For 2-34 minutes. Also, we noticed that our applciations fols have to now add the fully qualified domain names when making calls to servers that just needed the domain name. When i open the access-list up completely without opening specific TCP/UDP ports, the issue is resolved.
