View 1 RepliesMy wireless connection on my laptop keeps disconnecting. It seems like it disconnects every 5-10 minutes. I know it's not my router because my cousin came over and had zero problems with his wireless connection. I have to reset my laptop at least once a day because it decides there are no wireless connections and I can no longer right click it if this happens. Every once and a while I'll just have to unplug my router and plus it back in to fix the problem if trouble shooting wont work.
View 5 Replies View RelatedMy wireless decided to disconnect and reconnect randomly throughout any time I use it. Thought it maybe the the router so bought a new one Netgear and its was fine for the first 48 hours and now its keeps doing the same again. Its fine if I plug in the ethernet cable so no the modem and router are fine. Not sure what it is, my Toshiba laptop is probably about 5 years old - is it time for a new one? Is it something simple or what?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have 2 laptop, a Toshiba and a MSi, both wirelessly connected to a Zyxel router. The toshiba laptop worked just fine for me, never disconnect, but the MSi started to act up since I got this router. Sometimes it disconnect from the router every 5 mins, it can still detect the network, but then I have to troubleshoot it to reset the adapter if I want to reconnect it. The problem I got from the troubleshoot is " Problems with adapter or access point". Before I bought this router for the current cable service, I had a DSL service, my laptops can connect wirelessly to the DSL modem, without router and they worked just fine, so I don't know if the problem is from the router or the laptop.I searched for solutions everywhere on the internet, yet they are the same : update firmware, drivers,.I even reinstalled windows so many times yet it remains the same.
View 7 Replies View RelatedCan't get internet connection to stabilize, keeps disconnecting. My laptop keeps cutting off from the internet, yet the internet itself is fully functional, as I can still use it for my mobile, and I have not had any problems with it disconnecting during online Xbox360 games.I have fully read through the thread I just linked as he obviously got his problem solved, however I know very little about computers and cannot understand the majority of the solutions/attempts that he tried.I have done the obvious and turned the router off for several ideas before trying again, but nothing has worked for far.
I'm aware that the problem this user posted was eventually solved by getting a new modem/router? however before doing so I want to make sure I have tried everything else possible.I have just read through the pre-posting requirements, I would have done it beforehand obviously but I overlooked them, my mistake. I will have to wait until I am home again before completing these.
I have a HP Pavilion G56-105SA. Here is my problem whenever I connect my laptop to the internet via wifi, I get random disconnects, and they are completely random. It can be minutes or hours without a disconnect, it only happens when I am on wifi and only with this laptop. I thought it might be a modem problem (my modem is also my router), but got a new modem and still the same thing. I have reformatted my laptop back to factory settings because it worked fine for a long time, still the same thing. I have also updated my drivers and changed the channel to one no one else was on. What could be causing this?

I'm sure it's not the isp, because like I said, the other laptop works fine.

I bought myself a DELL INSPIRON 1564 almost 2 years ago. I have been using a DLINK router MODEL DIR 635 ever since. It worked flawlessly. Now, i moved to a different part of the city and i had to install an internet connection. The connection is the same i used before - 100mbs fiber-optic. The only problem now is that the internet connection keeps dropping 2 3 times a day.Sometimes my laptop sees the wireless connection we set up,sometimes i have to wait one or two days to connect.Furthermore my laptops SEES like 10 other wireless connections except MINE!!!( if i go to a friends place the laptop sees his internet connection and works, the same if i go to any other place with a wireless connection) I live with 3 other people, they all have laptops and theirs work fine even after we reset the router. I also own a desktop PC, i bought a wireless adapter for it and surprise even the PC sees our wireless connection,,even my mobile phone, every other device except my laptop.

I have tried to put an ethernet cable in the back of my computer but my ethernet port doesn't work, so I use a wireless adapter. It is a D-Link DWA-552 Xtreme Desktop Adapter IEEE 802.11g, IEEE802.11n Draft 2.0 32-bit PCI Up to 300Mbps Wireless Data Rates WPA2. My connection is excellent. Speed is 130 mbps.

View 3 Replies View RelatedThe problem is my wireless network keeps disconnecting once in a while (approx. every day or two). When it goes out, eventually I am unable to connect any of my desktops or laptops wirelessly until I power cycle the modem and the router. But the ones connected by wire work fine. Here is what Ive gone through to trouble shoot:I called my ISP provider, and they said if Im not having problems connected directly to the modem they It works for weeks connected directly with no problems.I called the manufacturer of the router, and they said since it works by wire, and m able to get a connection wirelessly, it not their issue.I upgraded the firmware on the router.I went through 2 different brand new routers (Linksys and DLink), and also tried new adapters.
I tried changing the location of the router, even bringing it 5 feet away from the desktop.I tried playing around with the settings of the router (channel)I even upgraded my Internet connection to 35 mbps which comes with a new modem/gateway which acts as a wireless router too. The new gateway also loses wireless connection.I don know what to do as I ruled out everything. Its not the ISP problem, its not a router issue, and its not a specific computer problem. I just dot know what to do. I really don want to run cables to all of my computers
