View 1 Replies View RelatedOk i have 2 computers, 1 that uses wired connection and the one i use is wireless. I am one room away from the wireless router so i use a wireless adapter to get internet. Lately i have been losing connection constantly and when i solve the problem by clicking troubleshoot problem it always says default gateway was lost and it fixes it. It happened like 10 times in like 10 minutes. I was wondering if theres any way to fix this. Is it my adapter or my rounter or something else?

I have tried to put an ethernet cable in the back of my computer but my ethernet port doesn't work, so I use a wireless adapter. It is a D-Link DWA-552 Xtreme Desktop Adapter IEEE 802.11g, IEEE802.11n Draft 2.0 32-bit PCI Up to 300Mbps Wireless Data Rates WPA2. My connection is excellent. Speed is 130 mbps.

I have a d link router model dir 815 and a d link usb dual band adapter. Just replaced my linksys ones with these. Every day my wirless drops out, maybe 5 times a day and its really annoying us all. I hva eto unplug the router and then plug back in as this is the only thing that makes it go back on line. My Ipad and other wireless devices seem to stay connected all the time but the desk top is the one to go down. I am ready to take the d link stuff back to london drugs and revert to my old linksys unless i can solve this problem
View 3 Replies View RelatedThe problem is my wireless network keeps disconnecting once in a while (approx. every day or two). When it goes out, eventually I am unable to connect any of my desktops or laptops wirelessly until I power cycle the modem and the router. But the ones connected by wire work fine. Here is what Ive gone through to trouble shoot:I called my ISP provider, and they said if Im not having problems connected directly to the modem they It works for weeks connected directly with no problems.I called the manufacturer of the router, and they said since it works by wire, and m able to get a connection wirelessly, it not their issue.I upgraded the firmware on the router.I went through 2 different brand new routers (Linksys and DLink), and also tried new adapters.
I tried changing the location of the router, even bringing it 5 feet away from the desktop.I tried playing around with the settings of the router (channel)I even upgraded my Internet connection to 35 mbps which comes with a new modem/gateway which acts as a wireless router too. The new gateway also loses wireless connection.I don know what to do as I ruled out everything. Its not the ISP problem, its not a router issue, and its not a specific computer problem. I just dot know what to do. I really don want to run cables to all of my computers
it just disconnect from the wireless and then it automaticly reconnect and the it redisconnect and so on.

Though the times do vary on other days. I'm a student and I live with other students. It seems that this doesn't happen to anyone else in the house but my internet works fine when I go home. I can't work out if it's a problem with the internet here or my laptop.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am having problems with my wifi connection, it has been going on for a while now, i got it fixed by a computer guy but then i had to reset my entire computer and now my internet will stay on for about a minute or two and then disconnect again and so on but after a certain period of time (2-3 hrs usually) it will stay connected until my computer gets shut down.. I am on an Acer Aspire 5315-2822 i have disconnected the "acer empowering technology" and i know that has nothing to do with the problem because it was always disconnected when my internet ran steady. There are 4 other networks in my area, if that means anything? Not to mention im using windows vista.
View 1 Replies View RelatedMy wireless connection on my laptop keeps disconnecting. It seems like it disconnects every 5-10 minutes. I know it's not my router because my cousin came over and had zero problems with his wireless connection. I have to reset my laptop at least once a day because it decides there are no wireless connections and I can no longer right click it if this happens. Every once and a while I'll just have to unplug my router and plus it back in to fix the problem if trouble shooting wont work.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI use a wireless network in Singapore through a router. For the past year or so, my wireless network keeps disconnecting and reconnecting. However, most often the wireless icon in the tray often makes no mention that the wireless has not disconnected. This same problem happens on my whole family's laptops no matter whether they use windows xp, vista, or windows 7. Occasionally my whole network disappears and i actually do disconnect and i can't find the network till i switch on and off my router.

It's a D-Link Wireless N 150.I constantly get an "Excellent" signal from the router, but my HP Mini netbook keeps disconnecting and re-connecting. It happens three to ten times in each hour, and it re-connects quickly, but the hiccup is annoying. Once in a blue moon, it'll disconnect and refuse to re-connect for a while.Other items that use the router--our iPhones, our Nintendo 3DS's, our Wii, our Xbox--don't have an issue. My netbook doesn't have a problem if I use wireless somewhere else, like in a coffee shop or McDonalds or wherever.I've tried updating my drivers, without much luck.

The router is connected to the desk top that my husband uses,, his is not wireless but my laptop is. the laptop wireless connection keep disconnecting and then reconnecting on it's own. This just started a couple of months ago. At first I thought it was the router but my daughter came over with her laptop and as mine was connecting and disconnecting hers was just fine so that has led me to believe it is my computer... but what could it be? I have a wireless mouse and USB speakers plugged into my computer but nothing else and we do not have a cordless phone that could be interfering. could it be my cell phone? why would it have not been doing it all along if there were the case?
View 2 Replies View RelatedAfter hours of testing and configuring I can say it’s not the same issue as discussed in the link above. I have the same problem as mentioned at the beginning.
Our set-up: We have Mac, windows and mobile clients and Cisco networking equipment. We would like to use the WAP4410n as our access point. However, 10-20 minutes after connecting to the access point, the connection doesn’t work anymore. It happens randomly and not only during large file transfers. It also happens when I’m not even using the computer. After disabling and enabling the wireless interface on the client I get back the connection (for the next 10-20 minutes).
I not only tried to change all different settings on the access point (channel, encryption mode, ssid, channel bandwidth, ...) but I also changed settings on the Mac (disable IPv6) but it’s still not working. Of course I also tried older firmware’s.
i recently reinstalled my Windows 7 and im having wireless problems now which is didnt have before.I now takes along time to load pages and randomly disconnects. It has the exclamation mark next to the 5 bars of connection. Im currently sitting on 4 bars which is normal but it is really frustrating especially when im trying to do my project that it just keeps disconnecting. I use the RealTek 8185 extensible 802.11b/g wireless device.
View 10 Replies View RelatedRecently I bought a TP-Link WN822N and I had recently had this annoying problem with my adapter suddenly it disconnects but it mostly happens when I'm gaming so I'm clueless what the problem is. I tried to change the channels in my router in case it was any interference but no luck there. I also checked if it was just my "internet" but the internet went smooth. Also I did watch over the connection and it did suddenly change name to another one. It was the same network but it change to NetworkProfile, ain't sure if that's the problem though. I also tried to install a new driver over and over but no solution. My old adapter was just fine and there was no disconnects there before I got an upgrade which didn't seem to be good investment because of the disconnects. The disconnects can happen between 10-20 minutes before it occurs.
View 6 Replies View RelatedMy wireless decided to disconnect and reconnect randomly throughout any time I use it. Thought it maybe the the router so bought a new one Netgear and its was fine for the first 48 hours and now its keeps doing the same again. Its fine if I plug in the ethernet cable so no the modem and router are fine. Not sure what it is, my Toshiba laptop is probably about 5 years old - is it time for a new one? Is it something simple or what?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI got a new laptop (Toshiba Z830) last month and for the last few days my wireless internet keeps disconnecting and reconnecting after about a minute. It'll disconnect and say there's no internet (there's a yellow exclamation mark on the icon on the taskbar) and after about a minute it'll reconnect. I don't know if there's a pattern but I've noticed it keeps happening when I try to watch a video on youtube and sometimes at other times. No other device of mine is having any problems (desktop, phone, netbook), just my laptop.

LAN still works fine.I have tried a lot of different methods to solve this issue, but none seem to work.I am very dissappointed in the quality of the product. It has done this every since it was bought. I personally would have sent it in for repairs, but others in my household would not have agreed to that.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have Time Warner as my internet company. I recently purchased a new Linksys Router Mode E2500 because I have been having issues with my old router. My internet was disconnecting sporadically. After connecting the new router, a started getting the same issue. I replaced my internet cable modem to a Cisco 2100 modem (provided by Time Warner). I noticed that the issue keeps happening sporadically which makes me believe it is my Linksys router. Every time a new wireless connection is connected, my modem circuit dies. This happens sporadically.

So far I had my Dell Inspiron 620 for a year and it has worked almost perfectly. Now just recently(about 2 weeks ago) the wireless keeps on disconnecting me when I use my internet based programs. The only way to fix the issue is to go through the trouble shooting method by right clicking the wireless icon. The message that appears after the trouble shooting method is Wireless adapter may be broken or loose. I know it is not the program because it has done it even when I browse the internet. It usually does it during the evenings when there are more pc activity around the house. When this first happened, I thought there was a problem with the wireless card. So I contacted Dell support center. Which they were able to replace my wireless card. Then after the replacement, the problem was not fixed. Calling Dell support center again, they told me that I had to factory reset my computer since it was a software problem. Listening to Dell, I did that.
Even though I have done all those things. It was still unable to solve my wireless problem. Like I have put in my title, my wireless card is Dell Wireless 1502 802.11b/g/n. What I imagine now is that it has to do with my wireless router settings. I recently got a new wireless router which is the Asus RT-N66U Dual-Band Wireless-N900 Gigabit Router. When I first set this up, it was working fine at my previous location of my computer. Now since I am further away from the wireless router. The connection disconnects when I use programs that require a lot of internet. Currently, for the bandwidth I have set it to both 2.4ghz and 5.0ghz
i have been experiencing problems with my Dell Inspiron 1545 laptop running windows XP. For some reason my laptop connects to my network for a few minutes then disconnects, then it reconnects for a few minutes and disconnects. This happens repeatedly. I replaced my old Linksys WRT54G v.8 router with a DLink DIR-655 N Router thinking this would solve the problem but it didnt. I also positioned the new router higher than the last one, about 5 feet from the floor. The drivers for the Intel WiFi Link 5100 Mini Wireless Card on my laptop appears up to date, the current driver version is 13.5.0.6 from Intel. I don't experience wireless connection problems with my iPhone, apple tv or Xbox 360. Additionally, my DLink routers firmware is up to date.
