Like I said my AE1200 adapter keeps disconnecting, it happens about twice a day, underload especially.I already tried to update drivers, reinstall drivers, tweak settings, nothing works, I even turned off power save mode.I'm running WIndows 7 64-bit
View 4 RepliesSo as the topic says, my AE1200 wireless adapter continually disconnects. It will do it periodically throughout regular use. There are times, however, when it will definitely disconnect without fail. Whenever I try to play any online game (ranging from browser games on Facebook to games installed on my machine like Guild Wars), it disconnects. Any time it disconnects, it's a simple matter of either unplugging or plugging it back in. However, this makes it impossible to use anything that requires a constant internet connection (such as the aforementioned online games). It also disconnects whenever I do any task that requires a lot of processing power, such as rendering a video in Adobe Premiere Pro.

The disc that came with it has V5.100.68.46 which seem to be the lastest on the support site.
I am trying to install the Ae1200 on my notebook (windowsXP), which doesn't have a cd drive. I downloaded the driver from cisco page, and also copied setup disc from a 2nd comp onto a usb drive. Using both options, the wizards starts correctly, but then ends with error message saying "cannot find specified file"

I bought a Linksys AE1200 USB Wireless Network Adapter because the laptop stopped recognizing the internal wireless adapter. However, when I use the CD that came with the Linksys adapter to install it, the adapter is not detected. I have tried different USB ports and also power-cycling the router & cable modem & rebooting. Nothing seems to work. I also ran the Setup program on my Gateway DX4860 desktop but the Linksys AE1200 is not detected on the desktop, either.

When I leave it to cool down and plug it again it works perfectly... for about two minutes. LAN still works fine.I have tried a lot of different methods to solve this issue, but none seem to work.I am very dissappointed in the quality of the product. I have Time Warner as my internet company. I recently purchased a new Linksys Router Mode E2500 because I have been having issues with my old router. My internet was disconnecting sporadically. After connecting the new router, a started getting the same issue. I replaced my internet cable modem to a Cisco 2100 modem (provided by Time Warner). I noticed that the issue keeps happening sporadically which makes me believe it is my Linksys router. Every time a new wireless connection is connected, my modem circuit dies. This happens sporadically.

But sometimes the router just disconnect us all, its like its restarting, it only close down for like 5 - 10 secounds and then its back on. Sometimes it does it like every secound hour and sometimes it does it 3 times in 10 min. I usually play games on it and even tho I am the only one using it, it still disconnects. We got 2 wireless cameras running on a secound router that is merged (Thats what the nerd that setted it up for us told me) with the primary existing router. I am not really that good at computer I just dont want to get disconnected all the time.

i've excellent WIFI reception - setup 2.4GHz and 5GHz networks (diffrent SSID). i've few apple computers on the WIFI, and ipod touch 5th gen with iOS 6.01.Seems that often when i browse web on the ipod, the WIFI drops (takes about 60s to reconnect - almost as if the router is rebooting). But it's not conclusive and unpredictable. It also happens just with the computers when browsing web.
Our router is connected through a cable modem and If I connect my computer directly wired to the cable modem, I have no problem, it does not disconnect at all.In comes the router in between, when I connect the router and connect my computer through the router WRT54G2, it works initially then I get disconnected after about 1-2 hours. This is very regular. I have a temporary solution by resetting the router via two ways:
1. Go to the admin page, and perform a release and renew IP method.
2. Simply power off the router and then on again.
I'm having issues with a newly bought EA 2700 router, I'm getting disconnected every 30-60 minutes. (It's a brief disconnect for about 10seconds, perhaps a huge packet loss or something?)I've tried connecting directly to the modem and that seemed to have fixed the problem, so I think that it is a router issue...? Also, my download/upload/ping is 35mbps download, 35ish mbps upload, and 8ms. I had a number of problems with the unit disconnecting from wired and wireless connections erratically anywhere from 1/2 hr to 10 hrs. of operation. Troubleshoot thru Linksys chat. Ended up replacing router. Now I am having the same problem with replacement router. I've updated my windows XP, SP2, updated Ethernet driver and manually reconfigured router per Linksys advise. Wife and my laptops have N adapters, primary PC is wired in. It seems to disconnect all connections at same time, totally random. The only way to reconnect is to power down router for a few seconds and then power up.

View 6 Replies View RelatedMy Linksys WRT150N recently gave up on me and started to give me weird issues and started to disconnect (all the ports including wired & wireless) anywhere from 3 to infinite number of times per day and my only solution was to remove the power chord and connect it. I tried all possible ways possible including resetting the router, stopping SSID broadcast, removing the encryption, etc, but non worked. As the router was out of warranty my only option was to take it to the dealers where they told me it would take 3 weeks to fix and God knows how much they would have charged me. But after flashing the firmware with the dd-wrt it has been almost 24 hours without a single problem and now I have the cool option of seeing who is connected to the router, etc. This is a MUST for every Linksys owner.
1. Reset the router using 30-30-30 and waited for 2 minutes for things to come back 2 normal
2. Flashed the router with "dd-wrt.v24_mini_generic.bin"
3. Reset again using 30-30-30 and wait again4. Flashed the router with " dd-wrt.v24_std_generic.bin"5.
I am trying to configure my connectivity settings on my E6500. I enter 192.168.1.1 and the logon screen comes up. I have tried logging in with my user name and password and also disconnecting the internet and logging in the router password. After I log in, 98% of the time it says Router Not Found You are not connected to your router. It is funny that it is telling me this since this webpage is provided from the router since i have unplugged the internet. Even with the internet on, it does the same thing.
The times it does load the homepage of the router, I click on connectivity and when it does come up, the page is just blank with Ok, Cancel, and Apply buttons.I have done a reset on the router and reconfigured it with the CD and tried all the above again and same results.
I don't remember this being a problem when i first setup the router, it appears that a new firmware was automatically installed. I do not see any info on this being a known issue with the latest firmware.
I started using E4200 few months ago. It used to have frequent disconnection with E4200 when it's running on router mode back then. After playing with the MTU from 1492 (recommended by ISP) to 1364, it's seems to be quite ok until recently.It is getting worst than before. It disconnect my internet almost few times in 5 minutes.
