I started using E4200 few months ago. It used to have frequent disconnection with E4200 when it's running on router mode back then. After playing with the MTU from 1492 (recommended by ISP) to 1364, it's seems to be quite ok until recently.It is getting worst than before. It disconnect my internet almost few times in 5 minutes.

I check all of the settings and changed the channel to see if it works. For some reason it disconnects my wireless internet at random times and i know before it never use to do that before with a older router. There is nothing blocking it, it worked before, and my computers can connect except two. The only thing i can guess is my wireless card.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI have configured my e4200 to block traffic at certian times uses both the Parental Controls and the Intenet Access Polices. Neither one seems to work though. [code] I have the same MAC addresses specified in each rule. Initally I had only the first two rules. Those didn't work, so I added rule 3 and 4 (they do the same thing as rules 1 and 2 but from the opposite direction). There are no compliaints, but they don't stop any traffic.
I started with the Parental Controls, they didn't work either. The page in there that lets you pick which machines you want to block seemed next to worthless. I have about four rows listed as "Network Device." REALLY LAME! As the MAC addresses are accesible and these weren't working I went to the IAP.
I am using Cisco E1000. since 1.5 years I am using the internet through this router. Past1 week i am geeting freeqent disconnecting of my internet (for all systems & devices). I am using DHCP connection with static IP.

(It's a brief disconnect for about 10seconds, perhaps a huge packet loss or something?)I've tried connecting directly to the modem and that seemed to have fixed the problem, so I think that it is a router issue...? Also, my download/upload/ping is 35mbps download, 35ish mbps upload, and 8ms. It even appears to be doing this with a computer that is hardwired to one of the ports. So it doesn't seem limited to just wireless. Happens to both N and g channels as well.

View 1 Replies View RelatedHad an E4200 for a couple of months now and have not been able to resolve an issue with the router dropping an Apple iPad 2 at random times.The E4200 is replacing a Cisco Aironet 1200, which never dropped any clients, iPad 2 or others, and never displayed any of the issues below.
TECH DETAILS:The E4200 is being used purely as an access point. All extras are not in use and are disabled.

BASIC ISSUE:The E4200 drops an Apple iPad 2 off the 2.4 Ghz Mixed (B, G, N) network. The user must then select the network to rejoin. Rejoining occurs without incident. The same issue occurs when the network is restricted to B, G. The drops occur at what appears to be random intervals - sometimes 10 minutes apart, sometimes hours apart. We can have as many as 6 drops in an hour. A ping to the apple ipad shows the device stops responding to pings about 10 seconds before the user is prompted to rejoin a network. Meanwhile, a ping to the E4200 itself from a laptop connected via the E4200 on the same radio as the ipad continues to work without fail during this incident.
1. The iPad 2's cannot connect to the 5Ghz radio. I believe iPad 2's are supposed to support 5Ghz.
2. Both our Apple TVs do not connect to the 5Ghz radio: they fail with a "There was an error connecting to the network. Check your settings and try again. (-3914)" error. Apple TV supports 5Ghz.
3. The admin interface for the E4200 is very slow sometimes. Probably over 20 seconds to render some pages when it gets really bad. As a comparison, Internet-based pages on fast sites that delivered via the E4200 itself load in less than 2 seconds.
4. The HTTPS version of the admin interface can only be connected to via Safari browers. Both Internet Explorer 9 and Chrome 16 fail to connect with a "Connection reset" error. In Chome, it says "Error 101 (net::ERR_CONNECTION_RESET): The connection was reset." This is across multiple devices. There is no issue with straight HTTP.
All other devices - including Macs and PCs - connect fine with the E4200 on both 5Ghz and 2.4 Ghz radios, even if they cannot access its admin interface via HTTPS.I've presented quite a few issues above, but the main one is the drop outs for the iPad 2 devices. I'd present logs on drops, but the thing doesn't record any useful logs.

I have a E4200 updated to the latest firmware I have problems with the wifi on the 2.4GHz band, in fact, at power on, many times wi-fi on the 2.4GHz band doesn't work but the 5GHz band works normally. After some reboots the wi-fi operating normally on both bands.

I probably have to unplug router and modem at least 5-7 times a week. Could this happen because I have too many things using the router at once? We have 4 laptops, 2 iPhones and 2 iTouches, plus often using PS3 and Wii. We use Time Warner DSL.

My internet at home keeps disconnecting. It disconnects when I go upstairs (we have a small house), it disconnects when I'm more than 5 meters away. Sometimes when I'm right next to the modem it disconnects. But not only does it disconnect, it also ask me once again for my internet password (as it is protected with one).
Things I've noticed:
-This has been going on for some while (about a year ... I'm a really patient person). It does it with my and my brother's macbook Pro (Mac Os X 10.5.8) but it doesn't with my father's Toshiba
-We switched to bell's fibre optic, so the modem should be working fine
-my internet works beautifully when I'm at my grandmothers house (who also has the new Fibre optic) and works well at my school's university
-Once a few months ago I decided to do some searching and found out that my computer kept changing some kind of IP name or whatever (not sure exactly what) but it kept saying: "BELL_account_name_0 has disconnected so it reconnected to BELL_account_name_1", and then _2, _3 once I found it was up to _150 !!
I am pretty handy with computers but I'm not used to Mac's settings. Everytime I try to do the Network Diagnostics sometimes it works first shot, sometimes I have to re run the same Diagnostics and it will work 20 tries later (like I said I am patient). But I know that Network Diagnostics is NOT THE ANSWER. It's just a temporary patch, I want to solve this problem completely so I won't have to deal with it in the future.
I have fiber optic Internet with static ip and keeps disconnecting at very random times. It started 3 weeks ago, before it worked perfect. Most of times dcing 3 times per hour. But sometimes working for hours without dcs. Usually disconnects only for half minutes then reconnect, it can be very annoying. The provider keep saying that need change router. I'm tried three different of routers already, but keeps disconnecting. I'm tried connect the net directly into my cpu, without router, but not worked, dc-ing too. I tried ping the default gateway when its disconnected, and its saying: request timed out.What else can i try? It should be, that the provider has too many clients, and their router collapsing?

So my internet connection keeps disconnecting every 5 or so minutes, then i reset the router and about an hour later it disconnects again. I'd say it would be a problem with the router, but everyone else's computers never disconnect, just mine. The only difference is that they all have macs and I have an Acer. I was using the Sony Tablet with an earlier version of a linksys modem and everything worked fine. Since changing to the 4500 I have access to the network have full internet service and the anywhere from about 5 to 10 minutes later the internet freezes on the table and I have to reboot connection and the its fine for about another 5 to 10 minutes before it freezes again.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI am trying to configure my connectivity settings on my E6500. I enter 192.168.1.1 and the logon screen comes up. I have tried logging in with my user name and password and also disconnecting the internet and logging in the router password. After I log in, 98% of the time it says Router Not Found You are not connected to your router. It is funny that it is telling me this since this webpage is provided from the router since i have unplugged the internet. Even with the internet on, it does the same thing.
The times it does load the homepage of the router, I click on connectivity and when it does come up, the page is just blank with Ok, Cancel, and Apply buttons.I have done a reset on the router and reconfigured it with the CD and tried all the above again and same results.
I don't remember this being a problem when i first setup the router, it appears that a new firmware was automatically installed. I do not see any info on this being a known issue with the latest firmware.
I have had this problem for a week now. We have a desktop, PS3, and 3 laptops connected all at the same time. No problems with the desktop, PS3 and one of the laptops so far, but my Asus A53E and the HP Pavilion keep getting disconnected every few minutes! I recently installed a Linksys router (just to try it out) and it didn't really do well so I returned it and switched back to our old router which is the DLink DIR-625 router. It was doing okay for a few days and then suddenly it just started going crazy. Both the desktop and the PS3 are connected to the router through cable, but the other laptop (Dell) is not. I don't understand why it's just the Asus and the HP that get disconnected a lot. I already tried updating my drivers and reformatting my laptop, but still nothing. View 1 Replies View RelatedIn one setup, we have fibre optic connection given by the ISP upto Distribution box inside the house where the fibre optic cable is connected to HUAWEI-ECHOLFIE HG865 terminal .From the RJ 45 port in that device , the ethernet cable goes to the DLINK 8 port switch. All the 8 ports are connected with ethernet cables to 8 rooms going concealed through the wall.
Our ISP person tested the connection by connecting one patch cable (from the DLINK SWITCH via the wall socket)to the WAN port of LINKSYS WRT300N wireless router and connecting other ethernet cable from the lan port of the router to the laptop ,setup the username ,password, encapsulation pppoe and configured the internet .found working. I tried to configure the wireless in the house by fixing LINKSYS access point in some rooms.
Here the problem started. I cannot fix the LINKSYS router inside the DB in front portion of the house since there is no space in that and cannot keep the linksys router outside also, So I kept the linksys router inside one room and tried by connecting cable from the wall socket to a 5 ports mini switch and from the mini switch I connected one cable to WAN PORT of the linksys router and one cable to linksys's lan port because I want to share the internet in all the rooms.
i have an acer laptop an iphone and an xbox360 running on my connection not always all at once but my connection just randomly cuts out at any point whenever im on xbox live i get disconnected and i look at the router and its just resetting itself and i have to go and reboot it or just reset it and wait a wile before it will come back on. but even when it is on its not for long before it goes off on its own
