I was using the Sony Tablet with an earlier version of a linksys modem and everything worked fine. Since changing to the 4500 I have access to the network have full internet service and the anywhere from about 5 to 10 minutes later the internet freezes on the table and I have to reboot connection and the its fine for about another 5 to 10 minutes before it freezes again.
View 6 RepliesMy EA4500 will periodically clear out the DHCP Client Table and I will lose internet access.This happens once almost every day, normally in the morning. If I can't access the internet I will check the DHCP client table under Status -> Local Network -> DHCP Client Table and it is always empty.After I select Setup -> Reboot it will work again - when I look at the DHCP client table it is now populated with all my devices. I am on firmware version 2.0.37.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have DHCP enabled, but I have assigned a static IP to most of my network devices.When I click on the DHCP Client Table, most of the devices are NOT shown even though I know they are connected and working.One device (a Brother printer) that I have assigned a static IP to actually shows up as having an IP from the DHCP range. A Panasonic TV does not show up at all even though it is connected and woking. I have not been able to assign a static IP to it because it does not show up.

I bought this router because I wanted to setup my home network with really high quality up-todate and efficient router. Previously I used Dlink DIR685. Everything was OK but lately my ISP increased internet speed up to 40 megabit per second and Dlink can’t establish connection at a speed higher than 20 mbit/sec. So I bought the best router – I thought so. Router appeared to be rather powerful – the connection was established at a speed ~ 34 mbit/sec, wifi broadcast occurred  to be also of high speed and long range. But the main and terrible problem is that the longest internet session for the last 10 days was about 30 minutes. And that is with "keep alive" setting activated. That is awful! My Dyn DNS service doesn’t have even enough time  to update my new IP in its DNS base. Of course that is way I can’t get external access to my ftp most of the time. I believe that its firmware ver.2.0.37 is very raw. And there is no any firmware on Linksys site so I can’t neither reinstall firmware 2.0.37 nor downgrade to 2.0.36. Hope this bug will be corrected soon. May be that is defect of this specific router?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI am on a home LAN with a high speed broadband connection, Apple TimeCapsule router, and Windows 7 laptop. Starting this morning every 1-2 minutes my Internet connection stops working. I can not load webpages, send email, etc. A yellow triangle with an exclamation point appears over the WiFi icon on the taskbar. When my Internet connection stops I can disconnect from the wireless then reconnect. That will work for another 1-2 minutes only.
I do not recall doing anything that could have caused this (obviously something caused it, but I have not been screwing with drivers or anything and it has worked fine since I bought this computer 2 months ago from Dell). I have read several threads from where people had this problem in the past, but to no avail. For instance some people had multiple firewalls in conflict with one another or needed to renew their DHCP lease, but that is not true in my case.
Here are steps that I have taken to repair the problem, but with no luck:
- Restart the computer fully, many times
- Renew the DHCP lease
- Run the troubleshooter
- Changed my DNS servers from the ISP's to Google's
- Uninstalled all OpenVPN software
- Removed the stored WiFi network data from Windows then reconnect
- Verified that only 1 firewall is installed
- Tried it with the ethernet, which works
- Tried other computers on the WLAN, which works
- Ran anti-virus and anti-malware scans (no infection)
I do have a VirtualBox installation, but I have not run it in weeks. Even when I was connected for that 1-2 minute period I was unable to connect to my work OpenVPN, which is what led me to try uninstalling the VPN software, but that doesn't seem to be related.
I know that WRTP54G is a voip device, but it is router as well and my problem is related to routing part.I cannot access public internet servers with IP in subnet 2.0.0.0 / 8 and 1.0.0.0 / 8. I started using E4200 few months ago. It used to have frequent disconnection with E4200 when it's running on router mode back then. After playing with the MTU from 1492 (recommended by ISP) to 1364, it's seems to be quite ok until recently.It is getting worst than before. It disconnect my internet almost few times in 5 minutes.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI have a CISCO modem from SHAW set as bridge. I recently bought a CISCO EA4500 which got automatically upgrade to the current Firmware 2.0.37 after connecting it to my ISP. After a few days I noticed my internet speed was slow. When I checked the router I saw it flipped from 1Gb to 100Mb. Called Shaw they could not figure this one out, while waiting I decided to turn everything off / on and internet port came back to 1Gb. 2 days later same thing again, I just turned off both the modem and EA500 router. Â A couple of days later again same problem but this time I just turned EA4500 off/on and internet port came back on with 1Gb.Otherwise I will have to turn this one back in to the store for an exchange.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI have an EA4500 router. It's the latest in a long line of Linksys routers I've owned and I'm pretty familiar with setting one up and making changes. But the EA4500 seems a bit more picky than previous routers. Last night I tried to enable port forwarding for ports 53, 80, and 88 for my xbox. I already had port 3074 forwarded. When I did that and applied the change, I lost all Internet connectivity. I tried cycling the power on the router with no luck. I finally got connected again by going to 192.168.1.1 and disabled those ports. The status page then said I had Internet connectivity but I really didn't at least right away. It took a couple minutes before I was actually able to to connect to the Internet again. What else should I check when it says I don't have internet connectivity?

My speed is 23 mbps when I hard wired the pc. I have check the speed on a tablet ( android ), pc and a mac to about 5 feet away from the router with no walls or anything between the two devices.I have checked all the settings but I don't see anything wrong, I have changed to N mode only to make sure I use top speed.All my devices are able to use N.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI bought a EA4500 to replace my old WRT54G earlier this year. At first the router worked fine. After the automatic firmware upgrade to Cisco Connect Cloud, I was never able to get the Connect Cloud stuff to work, constant 500 Internal Server errors when trying to access the router with the Internet cable attached. Â So I downgraded back to the old firmware and all was well again. Then I started having problems a few months ago, when I would wake up in the morning, the router would be cycling the Internet port on and off. I could usually reboot everything and it would work the rest of the day. I lived with it like this a while, and support couldn't seem to find anything wrong. Eventually it started getting worse, until the point I could hardly ever get it to stay connected. I got Cisco to RA the old router and I figured problem solved. Now while the EA4500 was gone, I used my WRT54G again, and everything worked fine for nearly two weeks while I was waiting on the replacement EA4500.
So today the new EA4500 showed up, I connected and configured it, and it worked for a short time. Then suddenly I lost Internet, looked up at the modem and the LAN light was going on and off every few seconds. So I'm back in the same boat as before.I've tried changing cables, same setup works fine with the WRT54G. Modem works fine with WRT54G and connected directly to the computer, zero problems. I tried lowering the MTU, turning on MAC address cloning, and various other things.My modem is a HughesNet HN9000.
In 'Status' on my router there is a green dot in the field below 10/100 mbps at 'Internet port speed' - shouldn' that dot be below 1 gbps?
View 1 Replies View RelatedGot the cisco EA4500 router, installed it and ran the set up disc. It downloads whatever it needs to download, then proceeds with a progress bar all the way to 100. Then it tells me my internet cable is unplugged, but I able to browse the intrnet, like now. It tells me to plug it in and hit next, I hit next and it eventually gives me the same message. I've tried unplugging my modem, resetting the router etc. But when trying to run the disc when it gets to that point it always tells me my internet is unplugged? I can even browse the internet while that message is up.
View 9 Replies View RelatedThe issue is that one Dell laptop is experiencing slow or no internet connectivity at all using wireless. Sometimes 1 to 2 minutes to load a page, other times the dreaded 'not able to display webpage' message. It's fine using Ethernet. I have another laptop (same exact brand/model) and it has no problems. I also have a Macbook Pro and other Apple IOS devices (iPod/iPads) that are fine. Several Ethernet connected devices are fine as well. The laptop in question had no issues with my previoius Linksys devices, which are a BEFSR41/WAP55AG as well as a WRT-54GS v2. This one laptop was fine the first day or two on the EA4500 but something happened which is causing this issue. I had to add the WAP55AG back onto my network so my son is happy again, but my plan was to decommission the other devices. EA4500 Firmware v.2.0.37Dell Inspiron 15 Notebook w/Intel Centrino Wireless N1030, 1x2 bgn (2.4 GHz) + Bluetooth
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have recently purchased an EA4500 router. I assigned my sons XBOX a static IP via DHCP reservation (outside of the standard DHCP range). I set up single port forwarding on all the standard xbox required ports. Once I click the "enabled" box, I am unable to access the internet from any of the computers connected to the router. If I uncheck the enable box, I am instantly able to access the internet.

The power indicator light is on but the green and yellow lights on the Internet port are not flashing and the modem the EA4500 is connected to show no activity on that port. Also, the EA4500 is not broadcasting so I can't even connect to it to use Cisco Connect to troubleshoot. I tried resetting it but it did nothing. This has happened before but is usally fixed with a reset.

One day BOTH TV's could no longer connect. However, The tv's will connect to another access point. therefore the problem does not exist in the TV/s and has to be a problem in my access point (I.E. Router allowing access). Additionally, all other devices connect and work fine. I have already unplugged everything for an extended period of time. Checked for updates on firmware and verified no software needed to be updated. Rebooted router... Am using wpa-psk and feel i shouldn't have to go weep as it was working fine...
In one setup, we have fibre optic connection given by the ISP upto Distribution box inside the house where the fibre optic cable is connected to HUAWEI-ECHOLFIE HG865 terminal .From the RJ 45 port in that device , the ethernet cable goes to the DLINK 8 port switch. All the 8 ports are connected with ethernet cables to 8 rooms going concealed through the wall.
Our ISP person tested the connection by connecting one patch cable (from the DLINK SWITCH via the wall socket)to the WAN port of LINKSYS WRT300N wireless router and connecting other ethernet cable from the lan port of the router to the laptop ,setup the username ,password, encapsulation pppoe and configured the internet .found working. I tried to configure the wireless in the house by fixing LINKSYS access point in some rooms.
Here the problem started. I cannot fix the LINKSYS router inside the DB in front portion of the house since there is no space in that and cannot keep the linksys router outside also, So I kept the linksys router inside one room and tried by connecting cable from the wall socket to a 5 ports mini switch and from the mini switch I connected one cable to WAN PORT of the linksys router and one cable to linksys's lan port because I want to share the internet in all the rooms.
I just bought an EA-4500 and i am having problems with rebooting the device. Every time I change a setting and the router reboots it never starts up again - and the logo LED doesn't flash, it is on constant. I have to cut the power and wait for about 15 minutes, and then it boots up fine - logo flashing and all.

That is to say the wired laptop can't reach the router and the smart phone does not have a signal. This often happens when there is no phone or computer running. My current firmware is 2.0.37 and it just happened again. The logging capability is absolutely terrible so  you can't tell why or when it went down, and what happened just before it went down. I pull the plug on power and when it comes back the log is clean. avoid the freezing/lockup or for logging incoming and outgoing with timestamps?
View 1 Replies View RelatedSince I've bought a new Cisco router last summer,, a Linksys E1200 (v.1 updated...) (always in the wireless mode), my laptop (Sony, Vaio VGN-NW110D) freezes when I stream videos online or when I use skype video calls. It sometimes freezes for a few minutes (in that case it's just really extremely slow and it sounds like a satanic robot), and then comes back (but does it again a few minutes later. Or sometimes, and this is more frequent with skype video calls, it completely freezes, and I have to reboot the hard way...This never happened to me before and I've been watching videos and video skyping for years. I have windows 7, service pack 1 (32 bits) now . I have windows 7 now, since about the same time I bought the router. But what makes me think its related to the router is that when I'm at work, or at my parents, or sisters, or boyfriend's house, this problem does NOT occure.... I don't know if this information could be relevant, but this does not happen when I make videos calls with skype on my iphone.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI tried to enter a name that included an illegal character (in this case, a single quote), and it gave me the popup box that said I had done so. When the popup closed, my DHCP reservation table was emptied out (I had maybe 5-6 reserved clients). In fact, I can't add new reservations anymore at all from this screen as it lists nothing in the DHCP clients table at the top. (Note, there are plenty of things in the DHCP Clients table over on the Status->Local Network tab). At this point, I think that my pre-existing reservations are still being held, but I'm not sure as it's only been about an hour so nothing has renewed.

I had firmware 1.0.05 when I encountered this problem. I upgraded to 1.0.07 as a means of trying to kick it into action, but the problem still exists.Â
