Linksys Wireless Router :: EA4500 Can't Reconfigure Internet Settings In Cisco
Jun 28, 2012
I am using an EA4500 with the latest firmware that support the Cisco Connect Cloud. I am connected to the Internet and I need to edit the Internet settings and select a different internet setting: Static IP from the current setting DHCP. I select the option from a drop-down menu after selecting Edit, but there is no edit and no drop-down menu.
I have a Linksys E3000 router, which originally had all sorts of security settings, and names for the wireless networks, etc. It was all set up. I upgraded the firmware, and all of those settings sent away. Is there a way to reconfigure the settings to get them back to how they were, and if so, how do I do it?
I recently upgraded to the EA4500 and the only issue I'm having is that it will not recognize my static DNS settings, which worked fine on my older E2000. No other hardware has changed except the router.I've tried both Google DNS and OpenDNS. In either case, the DNS settings can be entered and saved in the Basic Settings tab, but when I go to the admin tab, it shows my ISP's deafult DNS.
How do I change the username password in the router settings for the linksys ea4500? It only lets me change the password, I cant find an option to change the username.
I am curious as what the packet size should be set . is the bigger size == lower speed smaller == faster or just leave automatic setting for packet size?
Purchased an EA4500 router. Â I'm using an old HP 4L laserjet and have it connected to the router via the USB port. Â I have 2 Mac's and installed vusb on both. Â I can successfully print from both Mac's, however I have to manually disconnect and connect the printer in the vusb client. Â I can't get the auto-connect and auto-disconnect settings to work by themselves. Â Any guidance on the proper settings here?Additionally, do I need to configure the printer driver though the vusb client? Â When I click "configure", I get an error saying"Cannot connect to Prolific Technology Inc. Â IEEE-1284 Controller.
I have a Virgin Superhub at home which is capable of 2.4 OR 5GHz wireless. I have a mixture of 2.4 and 5 GHz tech at home so would like to use dual band. My wireless settings on my Superhub modem look like this.As you can see it has settings for 2.4 OR 5GHz and wireless modes of 54, 144 or 300Mbps. Â What setting should I be using for my EA4500 to operate in dual band mode? I'm guessing I should put by Virgin Superhub modem in modem mode at 5GHz/300Mbps.I will besetting up seperate SSIDs for 2.4 and 5GHz bands.
There are several features that don't work and are returning errors. For starters, when trying to save settings for media/device prioritization I am receiving a 2123 error message. Unable to save settings. EA4500/N900 Router, Cisco Cloud Connect.
I have been set out to pasture by the Linksys support staff as I have passed my 90 free tech asstistance period. I had a power outage and now I have a solid Cisco light on the top of the router but I can not get any port light activity on the router. I don't see how I can reconfigure it if the system can not even access it?
My router worked fine. Comcast did updates and now it wont work. If I connect the cable modem to the laptop the internet works fine. It's the router. She said I need to reconfigure it. I tried looking on the site, typing in the 192.168.1.1 thing and the password "admin" is not correct. Â My cable modem is Motorola SB5120. My linksys is WRT54G2 V1. how to reconfigure this to work! We work from home and this is a huge obstacle for us to not have wireless internet
I looked around the messages, but could not find anything on this topic. I need assistance with the CISCO WRT54G2 V1. I have an EnGenius EOC5611P (500mW) Repeater set up in my RV and it connects directly to the PC inside my RV using, a CAT 5 connection. I am now using a laptop and would like to connect to the EOC5611P using wireless. "Can I re-configure the WRT54G2 to connect the 5611?" (I would plug the router directly into the 5611). According to EnGenius support, it is possible, but the router would have to be re-configured, but they do not support this setup. I would purchase an EnGenius EAO 7530 which would work perfectly, but the price is $245. Here is the link to the 5611 information [URL]
I recently purchased an EA4500 Cisco Wireless Router. I installed the software from the setup CD, however I cannot access the internet. All my devices (Iphone, etc) can access the router but the router cannot access the internet. Mac OS X 10.6.8
How to access their router using Safari on a Mac or an iPhone or an iPad? Â A few weeks ago, Linksys was aware of this as an issue and I wonder if anyone has been successful using these browsers.
When my ea4500 is connected to other router with internet connection I can access CCC. But if ea4500 connected via pptp to internet by itself, i cannot use CCC because router tells 'no internet connection', even if I have this connection. How to fix it?
I have a CISCO modem from SHAW set as bridge. I recently bought a CISCO EA4500 which got automatically upgrade to the current Firmware 2.0.37 after connecting it to my ISP. After a few days I noticed my internet speed was slow. When I checked the router I saw it flipped from 1Gb to 100Mb. Called Shaw they could not figure this one out, while waiting I decided to turn everything off / on and internet port came back to 1Gb. 2 days later same thing again, I just turned off both the modem and EA500 router. Â A couple of days later again same problem but this time I just turned EA4500 off/on and internet port came back on with 1Gb.Otherwise I will have to turn this one back in to the store for an exchange.
I have an EA4500 router. It's the latest in a long line of Linksys routers I've owned and I'm pretty familiar with setting one up and making changes. But the EA4500 seems a bit more picky than previous routers. Last night I tried to enable port forwarding for ports 53, 80, and 88 for my xbox. I already had port 3074 forwarded. When I did that and applied the change, I lost all Internet connectivity. I tried cycling the power on the router with no luck. I finally got connected again by going to 192.168.1.1 and disabled those ports. The status page then said I had Internet connectivity but I really didn't at least right away. It took a couple minutes before I was actually able to to connect to the Internet again. What else should I check when it says I don't have internet connectivity?
I am only getting 10-14 mbps when I should be getting 30-35 (using the gigabit ports). I thought it might be my provider but today I connected my old netgear router and the speed was 32-34 mbps. Is there some setting that I should be looking at?
I own a ea4500 wireless router, I have tested the speed at speedtest.net and wirelessly I get around 9 mbps. My speed is 23 mbps when I hard wired the pc. I have check the speed on a tablet ( android ), pc and a mac to about 5 feet away from the router with no walls or anything between the two devices.I have checked all the settings but I don't see anything wrong, I have changed to N mode only to make sure I use top speed. All my devices are able to use N.
I bought a EA4500 to replace my old WRT54G earlier this year. At first the router worked fine. After the automatic firmware upgrade to Cisco Connect Cloud, I was never able to get the Connect Cloud stuff to work, constant 500 Internal Server errors when trying to access the router with the Internet cable attached. Â So I downgraded back to the old firmware and all was well again. Then I started having problems a few months ago, when I would wake up in the morning, the router would be cycling the Internet port on and off. I could usually reboot everything and it would work the rest of the day. I lived with it like this a while, and support couldn't seem to find anything wrong. Eventually it started getting worse, until the point I could hardly ever get it to stay connected. I got Cisco to RA the old router and I figured problem solved. Now while the EA4500 was gone, I used my WRT54G again, and everything worked fine for nearly two weeks while I was waiting on the replacement EA4500.
So today the new EA4500 showed up, I connected and configured it, and it worked for a short time. Then suddenly I lost Internet, looked up at the modem and the LAN light was going on and off every few seconds. So I'm back in the same boat as before.I've tried changing cables, same setup works fine with the WRT54G. Modem works fine with WRT54G and connected directly to the computer, zero problems. I tried lowering the MTU, turning on MAC address cloning, and various other things. My modem is a HughesNet HN9000.
I was using the Sony Tablet with an earlier version of a linksys modem and everything worked fine. Since changing to the 4500 I have access to the network have full internet service and the anywhere from about 5 to 10 minutes later the internet freezes on the table and I have to reboot connection and the its fine for about another 5 to 10 minutes before it freezes again.
Got the cisco EA4500 router, installed it and ran the set up disc. It downloads whatever it needs to download, then proceeds with a progress bar all the way to 100. Then it tells me my internet cable is unplugged, but I able to browse the intrnet, like now. It tells me to plug it in and hit next, I hit next and it eventually gives me the same message. I've tried unplugging my modem, resetting the router etc. But when trying to run the disc when it gets to that point it always tells me my internet is unplugged? I can even browse the internet while that message is up.
The issue is that one Dell laptop is experiencing slow or no internet connectivity at all using wireless. Sometimes 1 to 2 minutes to load a page, other times the dreaded 'not able to display webpage' message. It's fine using Ethernet. I have another laptop (same exact brand/model) and it has no problems. I also have a Macbook Pro and other Apple IOS devices (iPod/iPads) that are fine. Several Ethernet connected devices are fine as well. The laptop in question had no issues with my previoius Linksys devices, which are a BEFSR41/WAP55AG as well as a WRT-54GS v2. This one laptop was fine the first day or two on the EA4500 but something happened which is causing this issue. I had to add the WAP55AG back onto my network so my son is happy again, but my plan was to decommission the other devices. EA4500 Firmware v.2.0.37Dell Inspiron 15 Notebook w/Intel Centrino Wireless N1030, 1x2 bgn (2.4 GHz) + Bluetooth
I have recently purchased an EA4500 router. I assigned my sons XBOX a static IP via DHCP reservation (outside of the standard DHCP range). I set up single port forwarding on all the standard xbox required ports. Once I click the "enabled" box, I am unable to access the internet from any of the computers connected to the router. If I uncheck the enable box, I am instantly able to access the internet.
My EA4500 is not working. The power indicator light is on but the green and yellow lights on the Internet port are not flashing and the modem the EA4500 is connected to show no activity on that port. Also, the EA4500 is not broadcasting so I can't even connect to it to use Cisco Connect to troubleshoot. I tried resetting it but it did nothing. This has happened before but is usally fixed with a reset.
I've bought the EA4500 and configured it to connect to internet. it works fine.however, one day after it, it can't connect to the internet anymore. I go to the router setup page and try to manually connect it to the internet, but it keeps "connecting." I then restore to its factory configuration, then do the configuration again and it can successfully connect to the internet.however, one day after it, again, it can't connect to the internet anymore.
EA4500 Linksys router stopped allowing vizio Internet apps to connect from two different TV's. Problem, Just got brand new EA4500 router and Motorola SURFboard DOCSIS 3.0 High-Speed Cable Modem Model: 575319-019. I have 2 new vizio big screen tv's with internet apps. All was working fine and had no problems but occasional drops or limited access.  One day BOTH TV's could no longer connect. However, The tv's will connect to another access point. therefore the problem does not exist in the TV/s and has to be a problem in my access point (I.E. Router allowing access). Additionally, all other devices connect and work fine. I have already unplugged everything for an extended period of time. Checked for updates on firmware and verified no software needed to be updated. Rebooted router... Am using wpa-psk and feel i shouldn't have to go weep as it was working fine...
bought a home 3 weeks ago where there was already a linkysys router ewhen got internet hooked up they did using that already exsisting router. internet been workinhg fine till yesterday modem thru cable working good and right lights on linksys router working. but cant connect to the internetcalled linksys and said warranty up on this router and they want me to pay for continued phone supopoert for 30-50 dollars really.
Ok, so I recently upgraded to a Linksys E3200. I am trying to get the QoS to work properly. I know that it is supposed to prioritize network traffic, so that if I have busy traffic but I am playing an online game, it should keep my gaming from stuttering while slowing other traffic down.  The problem is that every time I enable QoS everything slows down dramatically. I had a 200MB download that was going to take 5hrs with QoS enabled, that took 10min with QoS disabled. And with QoS enabled I can't even watch a youtube video without it pausing to buffer every 10 seconds. And that was the only PC/device using the network at the time. Again turning off the QoS WMM option solved  the problem. I have noticed this problem with multiple routers and brands and usually just disable QoS as soon as I set up a router, however I heard that I won't get the full benefit of 300Mbps without QoS enabled.  I don't have any special Voice over IP needs, or video streaming etc. and I rarely am using multiple network devices at the same time. Is there really any reason I should enable QoS? Also I never really play with the settings for QoS, I just figure that since it comes enabled by default it should work for the average consumer.
I am trying to setup my Internet connection on my linksys E1200 router using static IP settings below -I am getting following error when trying to do this. These are the IP settings provided to me and are configured on my laptop to connect to my ISP as well.
I've had my WRT54GL for a few months now and have two computers that are wired and 3 that are wireless. I started having problems with conflicting IP's a couple days ago on one of my wired computers which was set for auto DHCP so I changed the settings and made it a static IP, this is when the problem started. I have Network Magic on all computers and even though it says I'm connected to the internet and the network, I am not able to get online. My other wired computer has been on Static IP for months and works fine.
