(It's a brief disconnect for about 10seconds, perhaps a huge packet loss or something?)I've tried connecting directly to the modem and that seemed to have fixed the problem, so I think that it is a router issue...? Also, my download/upload/ping is 35mbps download, 35ish mbps upload, and 8ms. (I have a 35mbps connection so that's fine) But when I connect my PC to the modem directly, my MS becomes 5, and my upload jumps to 77mbps. The download stays the same...
View 9 Replies View RelatedI recently bought a refurbished E1000 wireless router from Amazon, and from the first day I've had recurring connection issues with it. Every half hour or so it will lose all of its connections (wireless and ethernet) and requires a hard reset. After resetting, all connections are good for a little while but then the problem occurs again. When plugged directly into my modem (Motorola SB6121), my internet access is completely fine.
The router has the latest firmware as far as I know (2.1.02 build 5 May 6, 2011), and I've tried to change several settings (MTU to 1400, Fragmentation Threshold to 2306, etc) but to no avail.
I started using E4200 few months ago. It used to have frequent disconnection with E4200 when it's running on router mode back then. After playing with the MTU from 1492 (recommended by ISP) to 1364, it's seems to be quite ok until recently.It is getting worst than before. It disconnect my internet almost few times in 5 minutes.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a Talk Talk Unlimited Internet connection in the UK.The modem they provided is D-link DSL 2780 N type ADSL+2 router.The wireless net connection is shared by 5 other people in my flat and as far as I am aware - their connections seem to be seamless..In my case - the speed of the wireless connection starts deteriorating after about 20 mins - i.e the pages start loading slower, and then a while later the pages don't load at all - but the signal strength and connection would be displayed as normal..When I try to disconnect and reconnect- Windows says it's unable to connect to the router..It runs some diagnostics and advices me to turn the router off and then on

So, I'm connected to my router through wifi on my laptop and every 5-10 minutes I disconnect from my internet and I can't reconnect right away. I have to wait another 5-10 minutes for it to connect back. And I also can't connect the first time I start up my laptop. I need to wait 5 minutes before I can connect.

I have had this problem for a week now. We have a desktop, PS3, and 3 laptops connected all at the same time. No problems with the desktop, PS3 and one of the laptops so far, but my Asus A53E and the HP Pavilion keep getting disconnected every few minutes! I recently installed a Linksys router (just to try it out) and it didn't really do well so I returned it and switched back to our old router which is the DLink DIR-625 router. It was doing okay for a few days and then suddenly it just started going crazy. Both the desktop and the PS3 are connected to the router through cable, but the other laptop (Dell) is not. I don't understand why it's just the Asus and the HP that get disconnected a lot. I already tried updating my drivers and reformatting my laptop, but still nothing. I don't want to call our ISP (Shaw) and D-Link because the internet works fine on the other 3.Additional Information:

My wireless wifi keeps going on and off frequently (I have to unplug and plug it back in about 10-30 times a day) and when its is connected its slow. I have a Belkin Play (high-performance Dual-Band Networking).

I'd say it would be a problem with the router, but everyone else's computers never disconnect, just mine. The only difference is that they all have macs and I have an Acer. I bought this router because I wanted to setup my home network with really high quality up-todate and efficient router. Previously I used Dlink DIR685. Everything was OK but lately my ISP increased internet speed up to 40 megabit per second and Dlink can’t establish connection at a speed higher than 20 mbit/sec. So I bought the best router – I thought so. Router appeared to be rather powerful – the connection was established at a speed ~ 34 mbit/sec, wifi broadcast occurred to be also of high speed and long range. But the main and terrible problem is that the longest internet session for the last 10 days was about 30 minutes. And that is with "keep alive" setting activated. That is awful! My Dyn DNS service doesn’t have even enough time to update my new IP in its DNS base. Of course that is way I can’t get external access to my ftp most of the time. I believe that its firmware ver.2.0.37 is very raw. And there is no any firmware on Linksys site so I can’t neither reinstall firmware 2.0.37 nor downgrade to 2.0.36. Hope this bug will be corrected soon. May be that is defect of this specific router?

View 4 Replies View RelatedCheck to see if there is a firmware upgrade and there is. Well I updated it with the newest and only one out there. I did the upgrade, said sucessful and now it will just random reboot or something........ every few minutes the power light starts flashing....... then all the light go out, then power flashes again and it comes back up. I have tried many times to reflash it with that new firmware but no avail. I wish I had the old firmware back because it was working fine till I did this upgrade.

I have checked the internet connection and that is not it as I can be hardwired to the router and the internet never drops. This happens to every device in the house (two Xbox, tablet, multiple PC's) at the same time, or randomly between. The devices are a mix of G and N so it is not associated with just one particular band. I have verified the wireless phone, microwave, or anything else that might interfere with the signal is running. One thing I have noticed is that when the wireless connection drops, the actual signal does not go away, I can still see it with a wifi analyzer. This is very frustrating as I just replaced a previous Linksys router with this one for the very same reason. Perhaps I should have bought some other manufacture.

I have tried Cisco customer service 4 times and Xbox customer service 3 times with absolutely no luck. They both tell me that all of my setting are correct and there is nothing more that can be done.
I have tried everything that I can think of: Port triggering, port forwarding, DMZ, UPnP enabled/disable, power cycling everything, putting Xbox as Qos high priority, designating a static IP for the Xbox, clear the Xbox's cache twice, I even formatted my Xbox's hard drive in case of corrupt data. The Xbox does not disconnect when connected directly to the modem, making the router the common denominator. I am on the verge of returning the router.
I have a WRT160N v3 Linksys Router and it keeps disconnecting and then reconnecting. It only disconnects wirelessly. LAN still works fine.I have tried a lot of different methods to solve this issue, but none seem to work.I am very dissappointed in the quality of the product. I have Time Warner as my internet company. I recently purchased a new Linksys Router Mode E2500 because I have been having issues with my old router. My internet was disconnecting sporadically. After connecting the new router, a started getting the same issue. I replaced my internet cable modem to a Cisco 2100 modem (provided by Time Warner). I noticed that the issue keeps happening sporadically which makes me believe it is my Linksys router. Every time a new wireless connection is connected, my modem circuit dies. This happens sporadically.

Unfortunately, I cannot connect to the configuration of the router by typing url...in a browser, be it wireless or weirdly. For example, Firefox displays "Connection has been reinitialized". Furthermore, when I launch Cisco Connect, it only shows the error "Unable to connect to router". I tried to switch my router off and on, but that doesn't work.
