I am trying to have both my laptop and brother HL-3070CW printer, wirelessly connect. I go through the entire setup process and all is well. Until the end. It tells me that my security settings are incorrect. Therefore the wireless link status has failed to associate.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI just picked up a new Windows 7 laptop for my home. My live in girlfriend has a Vista laptop and we both connect wirelessly to our linksys network. We also have a lexmark printer that is connected wireless as well. The Vista laptop has worked and prints fine with the lexmark. Now I have been trying to connect my new laptop to find the printer but when trying to add a new printer or even trying to add a new device windows 7 never finds the printer. I have installed the drivers from lexmark and have even enabled sharing on the printer properties from within the Vista laptop and still my win7 cannot find anything. What can i do to add this printer?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI recently purchased an Epson XP-205 Wi-Fi printer, and I set it up on my network and installed the drivers to my laptop, initially I could print over the network, but since a restart I can't. I have tried an uninstall and reinstall of the printer, but to no avail and if it matters, I'm running W7 64-bit.
I've ensured the printing programs are part of my firewall exclusion rules, and I can access the printers set up page via 192.168.1.3, also as expected, the printer is "pingable". On top of this my Android tablet is able to send things to the printer, so I'm sure it is an issue with my laptop.

In the beginning once everything was connected we could print from any computer wireless, then one day we had a power outage and for some reason we can only print from the host computer. I tried restarting my laptop, wireless adapter, and the printer, I also try restarting the spooler service but the attempt was not successful. Try unchecking SNMP and the printer is online but I can't print from it. So, I decided to uninstall the printer and reinstall it again. This is where another problem occurs. When I try reinstalling it, my laptop seems to be unable to find the printer (I have entered the IP address of my Printer but the printer still can't be found). Oh, and by the way, other laptop seems to be able to print a document from that printer.

I just bought a canon pixmaMG6120 wireless printer...hooked it up to our wireless network (via a netgear wg624v3 wireless router). pritner recognizes the network, can sign into the network and has an IP in they systems setting. i can print to it via my iphone and ipad (all on the same wireless network).my HP dv6 laptop doesnt recognize a printer is on the network though. i've tried using the included cd, tried doing it via IP address, tried taking down all the firewalls, and nothing seems to work.

I tried to force pair the iPhone by turning off Data Connection, which usually forces the WiFi, which it did, but then when I went to a webpage it wouldn't load even though wifi was showing full signals.I then booted up my lenovo laptop, and it connected to the internet and worked like a charm. Then my iPhone4s started working again. Why not now finally set up the wireless aspects of my HP B209 that I've never used, so I can print from my laptop wirelessly, which I've always wanted to do.So I was able to setup the printer after adding the MAC address of the printer to my belkin router by going to the IP address for the router and adding that specific address, I changed NOTHING ELSE.Internet on laptop not working now. It shows my wireless network with full bars in range, but when I go to connect it simply says it cannot connect, right away. I check my phone, wireless GONE again! I tried to force pair the phone, no dice. I "forget the network" on my phone, it still shows available, I connect put in my password and it immediately denies me, I tried un-plugging the router, restarting all computers, un-plugging router -and- restaring all computers, turning off the printer, repeating all previous steps, and finally I went and deleted the MAC address I added to the router, and all of the above did nothing to fix the solution.

I cannot for the life of me figure out how to get the wireless printer, modem and laptop to tall to one another. Am I missing something or should it all work? The laptop has internet access. The laptop also shows the printer installed with a big green tick next to it but it says it is offline. At no point has a green light appeared on the printer to indicate any wireless connectivity to the modem.

I have tried the following without any luck, uninstalling & re-installing, powering down cable modem/router, changing security settings on router from 64bit wep to 128 wep & WPA/PSK, dell expert taking control of my laptop & trying to connect (which resulted in Dell sending me a new printer because the expert seemed to think it maybe a faulty wireless card in the printer, this is not the case becuase the same problem occurs with the second printer dell have sent me!). I have downloaded & installed the latest drivers for this printer from the dell website & I've switched off my security (anti virus/firewall) when trying to install.
I am completely stuck as to what to try next, the printer works perfectly fine from the USB cable.
most of my wireless clients are associating to one ap when there are ap's closer. do i have some setting configured wrong on my controllers?

- 2 x WLC 5508 with about 80 - 120 access points (Aironet 3500) each
- 7 x WLAN's with different security settings
- 2 x ACS 5.3
On one WLAN we have the problem, that the students with their own laptops have to enter their AD username about 4-5 time, until they get a successfull 802.1x authentication. The WLAN has the following configuration:
- Hidden SSID
- Only 802.11b/g
- Interface assigned via AP Groups
- WPA2 / AES with 802.1x or CCKM (here I could only allow 802.1x, the clients do not need fast secure roaming)
- Authentication via ACS 5.3 and PEAP

Most of the time I can't see any 802.1x authentication attemps on the ACS View, but when there are entries, they are successfull. So in my opinion I think there has to be a problem on WLC side, but I don't know where to search further. We already deactivated the client load balancing in the WLAN, because at the beginning the customer wanted to activate that - but it was clear that there are a lot of clients which had to authenticate multiple times.I know there were some bugs in the 7.0 train, so I upgraded finaly to 7.0.235.0 to overcome this bug here: CSCty07036.To fix the other bug (CSCtt70290) I just disabled all the session timeouts on the different WLAN's.

I am testing our new wireless network using 1 Cisco 2504 wireless controller with 5 licenses 4 Cisco Air LAP 1142N Access Point I configured it very simple for testing There is only one interface and vlan is untaggetd There is also only one WLAN with one SSID Currently security setting is WPA + WPA2 + PSK (I also tested with no security setup) Wlan session time is diabled and controller user idle timeout is set to 1000000 (Max)AP boot version is 12.4.23.3 and ISO version is 12.4(23c)JA3 Problem is clinet(iphone) does not automatically associate with 1142N Access Point even after it learned network. Phone has to be authenticated again to connect to network same iphone can automatically associate with old 1220 Access point but not with New AP if I urn off and turn back on wifi from iphone, it does see the network but does not connect but I have to manually reconnect to it with password I want iphone to connect known network without reauthentication process after iphone's wifi function is turn on?

We configured our guest wireless with no layer 2 authetication so users can associate with an AP and get an ip adress but they can't go anywhere unless they have a valid username and password(web authentication) - does this affect the performance of an AP since there will be many people associated with each AP, is there any setting in the WLC to de associate a client from an AP if its idle for certain time.
I have 10 Access-Point model 1131 AG are new AP.
When I connect the access-Point to the network, the AP associate only one time but i go to wireless for see the AP, i can see downloading of IOS, but the ios is 3.0.59, the ap don not nothing. I can not change any parameters.
I just installed a WAP321. I literally configured a test SSID, implemented WPA Personal security, and could not get an iPad or Blackberry to associate with the network. The error message that appears in the Blackberry is "EAP Authentication Failed". But isn't EAP applicable only to the WPA Enterprise mode? The access point works fine if I have the test SSID without any security, but as soon as I turn on WPA Personal security, nothing can connect. Is there something really obvious I'm missing here?(When I select WPA Personal security, I have tried with just the "WPA2" version and "AES" cipher selected, as well as with check boxes ticked on both WPA/WPA2, and on both TKIP/AES. Neither works.)
View 8 Replies View RelatedI have a 5508 WLC licensed for 100 APs. I have 1 - 1042 LAP connected for testing. I have DHCP configured for the AP, and it gets an address of 192.168.254.100/24 - the controller's management interface is 192.168.254.99/24. I can see that the AP is getting an IP and I can ping it from the controller. However, I simply do not see the AP associating. I enabled capwap debiugging and watched the events, but I didn't see anything crazy that clued me in. What am I doing wrong?
The controller is v6.0.199.4
Every time I have set these up in the past they have been pretty straight forward. I haven't gotten too deep into the config on the WLC becuase I don't want to cause more issues.
